I ordered delivery on a busy Saturday night, and it was prepared and delivered very quickly. The food was hot and fresh, and smelled delicious. We ordered the taste of KC platter, which comes with plenty to feed 3 adults. The meat was cooked great, and the sauces were good. Overall it was good, but average as far as BBQ and sauce goes. The real winners are the sides. The coleslaw was great, definitely worth getting for a lighter side. The baked beans are amazing, and had a rich smokey flavor, with chunks of meat in them. The best side by far was the cheesy corn bake. I had low expectations at first, and was shocked at how good it was. Would definitely recommend that to anyone going there.

Not my favorite BBQ in the world but good either way. Meat was tender and juicy. Sauce was good but the main reason I liked this place was the carrot cake! Warm, soft and moist. The frosting made it taste like a cinnamon roll. Would send people here because it is an experience. Very upscale style BBQ.

Great atmosphere but you definitely need to make a reservation before going here. Extremely popular spot and super crowded. We had a reservation and still waited 40 minutes for our table. The food was good but nothing to write home about. Just a pricier barbecue place. But I will visit here again!

The service and decor was great at this location and we got right in for lunch. I have to start by saying the Beef Rib was the best bite of BBQ I had while visiting KC. So good that it just might just bring tears to your eyes. It's totally worth the visit. Everything else was average I'd say and just a bit dry. Nothing horrible but nothing else that blew my mind. Joe's BBQ had better ribs and brisket in my opinion but that beef rib must be tried. Holy smokes.

We arrived in KC on a Thursday night. We checked in our hotel and headed straight to Jack Stack. We had multiple recommendations for JS before we flew in and another one from the clerk at our hotel when we checked in. It was a Thursday night 8pm. We found street parking less than a minute walk away. We were seated immediately. Server arrived shortly after. Friendly and helful advice allowed us to order a great meal. I have never enjoyed a desert as much as the carrot cake. I feel this is a great dinner spot but would probably opt for somewhere else for lunch because of the price and the upscale feel. If I return to KC this restaurant will be on my to do list again.

Highly recommended, so stopped here for dinner on a recent trip to KC. Three of us decided to share the Pitmaster Family Share Dinner and not was it a treat! We really enjoyed sampling all of the great smoked meat - and although pork and beans aren't usually high on my list, they were very good also. If you are ever on the Plaza area in Kansas City - I highly recommend that you try this place. You won't be disappointed. Finally found good BBQ in KC. This is an upscale restaurant but the staff are really friendly and take good care of you. They have a great selection of local beers. Their burnt ends and ribs were great. FYI, If I’d have known, I would have asked for the sauce on the side. They serve with sauce already draped over the meats. The Carrot cake was over the top delicious!

Food was delicious. First time here as well. Trinity was an awesome server! Very helpful and knew the menu down to a T. Hope to be back next time we have a chance to visit MO. Thank you so much for the kind service! The experience 10/10. The baked jalapeño cornbread was delicious. It is different than we have ever tried, and with the sweet butter, it was delightful. The ribs pretty much fell off the bone, and super flavorful. The wings were nice and crispy, perfectly breaded/saturated. The crispy edges were bursting with flavors of flame BBQ and pepper, they had a slight heat to them. The beans were a table favorite. Such a delicious zesty BBQ

Hella popular place. We had to sit outside. The fire pit kept blowing out so had to ask them to turn it off a couple of times because all we smelled was gas. The Mac n cheese with pull pork was solid. We didn’t like the wings. The burnt ends don’t compare to TX. They were tough with very little fat. The ribs were solid; but nothing special. I did not care for the barbecue sauce.

Absolutely delicious! Exceptional service, we were greeted and stated right away. Our waiter and waitress were very timely and attentive. The establishment was very clean including the restrooms definitely a family atmosphere. Can wait to stop in again.

Decent barbecue. I found a brisket to be flavorful with a hint of smoke and for the most part moist. It comes slathered with a little barbecue sauce but it’s not really needed as the barbecue is moist enough and has enough flavor without it. I thought the coleslaw had a nice flavor slight hint of sweetness and the garlic cheese broccoli I also enjoyed. SERVICE was Decent although just a bit slow but that can be expected currently with the lack of help that many restaurants are facing. All in all worth a visit

Wow. You need this Bbq in your life. I had the Burnt ends and they melt in your mouth and the sauce is perfectly sweet and spicy. Perfect little place for a get together with family or get it to go. Easy order and curbside pickup.

We were in Kansas City for Easter weekend and wanted to get some KC BBQ. Our good local friends recommended Jack Stack so we made reservations on Open Table for Easter dinner there. We had excellent service and the most delicious BBQ!! Wow, you could taste the smoked flavor and the sauces/sides were incredible too! We will be ordering some of the sauces! Thanks for a special holiday!

We ate at the bar for lunch on a very busy weekend. The bartenders were great, our food came out hot, and really fast. Bloody Mary’s were amazing, and I’m particular about those. The chicken chili was excellent and baby back ribs fell off the bone. I highly recommend stopping in for some delicious KC food!

I don’t get to Kansas City often but was in town for a work trip and needed to get my fill of great KC BBQ. This was one of the most incredible dinners I’ve had! Unbelievable quality and such great service. I can’t speak highly enough about Betsy who absolutely made my day. If you’re looking for a great place to eat, come hungry! You won’t be disappointed!!

Service was excellent and had a fun buzzing atmosphere. Could be because it's the day before Superbowl but nonetheless it was good. I had the lamb ribs were a bit salty but still pretty good. Had the corn and cheese side which was really good. Customer service was amazing as the manager came over after hearing about the salty ribs and was happy to replace the order or reimburse me for the meal.

This place is a KC classic and I enjoy myself every time I come here. In my opinion the trout is the best thing on the menu, getting an entire trout is so good for the price. The glaze on it is delicious and I love pairing it with the blackberry bbq sauce for a little kick! I got a lemon drop with tequila and it was very strong got my money’s worth for sure!! Of course we had to get burnt ends as well, and they were so tender and flavorful, I love recommending this place to everyone’

Very good BBQ place in KC. I got big pig 🐖🐷 sandwich 🥪 which was delicious. The onion 🧅 Rings were massive, fresh and delicious 🤤. I tried their corn 🌽 bread 🍞 and so far is the best I've ever tried. Good service and everything looked very well structure and engineered( servers, kitchen, bartender, host). A must go in Kansas City.

Was in Kansas City for a Chiefs game and really wanted to try the barbecue there. We were staying near the Plaza area which is where this Jack Stack is located. It was a Sunday night and when we arrived, the hostess mentioned it was reservations only. Our option was to wait at the bar but there was no one there to keep track of the order and who was waiting. There were some seats at the bar and three booths that were all full when we got there. After waiting awhile, we were happy to be seated at the booth. We ordered the onion rings to start. Loved the size of the onion rings and the batter. It was delicious. The hickory chicken wings had a nice smoky flavour and I wish I had more as it was so good. We also ordered a small platter of ribs and burnt ends which came with two sides. Everything we ate was delicious and we would definitely come back again if we are in KC.

We had heard nothing but good things about Jack Stack, so we made it a point to try it while in KC. The food was okay. I actually loved the broccoli the best. When we initially entered the restaurant, multiple servers saw us, but they kept on talking among themselves. Once we got a server, she was good. We tried the pulled pork, burnt ends, and ribs.

We came in at 4:30 and they were nice to find us a table. The food was average - nothing amazing. The beef rib was extra $$ and I was very excited to try it. What I got was mostly rib and not much beef. Very dry/burnt and absolutely no meat on top. Pretty disappointed as the pictures I’d seen in reviews and on the website looked very good.

Was in KC for a work conference. JS was recommended by a few people. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS! I had the Mac and cheese with pulled pork appetizer (nice and cheesy) for my meal; spare ribs, potato salad and baked beans (the beans were delicious, get them!!!) My colleague had some kind of fried mushrooms, they were huge, she liked them. I tried the coleslaw but didn't like it, it was chopped and kind of runny, I don't know if those were celery seeds or what but the coleslaw wasn't good in my opinion. The best part of our experience was the server Maddy. She was great at recommending/suggesting menu items. Excellent service all the way around. She suggested the carrot cake...take my advice if you are a carrot cake fan, GET THE CARROT CAKE! And if you are not a carrot cake fan, you will be after eating theirs!! YOU WONT REGRET IT!! I went back the 2nd day and had the spinach salmon salad with strawberries, again, delicious!! This place isn't setup like your ordinary BBQ place. It looks kind of fancy and expensive when you walk in but it wasn't expensive and it was well worth the cost. Please open a location in metro Atlanta!!!

Jack Stack never disappoints! Excellent service, drinks and some of the best KC BBQ we’ve had. We were on a tight timeline due to a concert…made a reservation through Open Table ahead of time. Our table was ready as promised and we made our show with perfect timing! We had the Que for Two Roundup, Big Pig sandwich and appetizer Pork & Mac - PLENTY of deliciousness for four of us. Highly recommend the homemade carrot cake too.

I was staying at a hotel near by and was recommended Jack stacks and could not have been happier!!!! Fist of all I showed up the first evening 45 minutes before closing and was uneasy about being one of those last minute customers, but the hostess insisted I come in and have the Jack Stacks experience so after a few rounds of insisting I caved . I sat at the bar and was taken care of by Anthony and Stephen . Two fantastic bartenders who made me feel like I was a long lost friend!!! I enjoyed the food and service so much that I came back the next night and ordered a different meal off the menu!!! I wa so impressed that they both called me by my name when I walked in the 2nd night!!!! I have a very unusual name and it meant the world to me that they took the time to remember my crazy name”Audwynn” I came back my third and final night in town and all total had the brisket, burnt ends pork and beef, sausage, salmon, and the smoked wings. My side were, pot salad, baked Ben’s and broccoli . It was all amazingly delicious but I particularly loved the pork burnt ends, salmon and maybe the best wings I’ve had in my life!!! I also ordered the garlic broccoli all three nights. Do yourself a favor and swing by, sit at the bar and ask for Anthony or Stephen? Tell them Audwynn sent you!

Overall good service and a nice dining experience. The burnt beef ends, lamb ribs, baked beans, and house salad were absolutely delicious. We also really enjoyed the carrot cake. I was a bit disappointed in the pulled pork Mac n cheese. The Mac n cheese was creamy, but the pulled pork was a bit dry and I didn't care for the sauce. I would not recommend the sausage, which was very dry. We had the salmon dip as an appetizer which was also good. The outdoor dining would be a great option, weather permitting, as the inside is very loud.

Bbq was delicious. This was the first chance I had to try KC BBQ and it was great! Loved the BBQ Prime Rib, and the corn bread was amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and personable. And to be honest, $80 for 3 people? CHEAP!

We are visiting KC and of course we can’t be here and not get bbq. There are 6 of us in our group and we all were searching for what we thought would be the best bbq restaurant around here. We are from NC and live near Lexington, NC that is known for bbq. We ended up at Jack Stack. I called and made a reservation for six. When we got there they immediately seated us. The service and food was amazing. I would say the burnt ends were the best thing on the menu and we had some of everything on the menu between all of us. I would highly recommend this place.
