This place has amazing barbecue! Our server was amazing. We ended up getting the $50 jack box I believe it's called with the cheesey corn, potatoes and beans. The beans were amazing! The cheesey corn was okay. And the potatoes were great. Very clean restaurant and very friendly staff. Definitely the best barbecue we've had. Pretty good value for what you get.

Having dinner at the Overland Park location was my first time. We could not decide what to have, so we decided to do heavy appetizers. And it was a great decision. We ordered Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese, Onion Ring’s and Shrimp. The service was very good and we never ran out of drinks. We highly recommend all Jack Stack Locations, you won’t be disappointed.

Came in starving and left full as well as food for later! For 2 people to share we got the meal for 4 anticipating it would be a small family of 4. We were wrong! There was more than enough food to feed 4 people! The wings were a little dry, but the meat had great flavor and the burnt ends were so good! We'll definitely be back on the future. Relaxing atmosphere with good service. 👍👍 Thumbs up from us!

Haven’t been here in many years! It’s still delish! Had the Kansas combo plate with brisket, burnt ends & turkey with cheesy potato bake. Everything was very good. Loved the warm carrot cake - it was so moist & perfectly sweet (and no raisins)! You must order it! Quick, friendly service too.

SO DANG DELICIOUS! this jack stack always hits the spot. Food is ALWAYS cooked to perfection and hot! They are always busy but usually can seat us. Appetizers to get ALWAYS: the shrimp and the wings! I wouldn’t go and not get them. Meat falls off the bones, sandwiches are delicious. Flavoring on the fries is aMazing Honestly I’m drooling writing this review and can’t wait until I’m back!

First time visiting KC, I was told by quite a few people that this place is outstanding; read in the KC magazine this this was in the top ten, and actually top three! This place blew me out of the water! Get the Pitmaster, trust me you will be very satisfied!! Hits all the points on 🎯 target. Thanks to Melissa - awesome server. It’s more like 10-stars!!

Excellent BBQ, super friendly service, comfortable dining experience. The standout star of the show is definitely the spare ribs. Sauce is a KC classic.

Great place to take the family. Our server was great, friendly and VERY attentive. Thank you for handling the 10 of us tonight... it made our family get together amazing. As someone told me once "No better way to catch up with family, than over great food"

Hands down the best wings I've eaten anywhere ever! I will be dreaming about them for the rest of my life. The pulled pork mac and cheese s also delicious! I haven't tried anything here that I didn't like. Plus the service is great! Our waitress was very friendly and checked on us regularly, but not too frequently. Jack Stack has so many great reviews for a reason. Definitely loves up to the hype!

Went here for Restaurant week KC and got the 35$ for 2 people meal that was the -> Roundup Family-Style Dinner - Pork Spare Ribs, Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Turkey. It also came with cheesy corn and baked beans . Fries were also included . For desert we also got a carrot cake. All of this was for a grand total of 35$ and it was delicious. We also had plenty of left overs after.

My husband and I ate at Jack Stack in Overland Park, Kansas. It was our first time eating there. The food was really good but what really made our experience even better was our server Katie. She was so friendly and on top of everything. She is a real asset to the restaurant.

Amazing food! has got to be the best BBQ in the country period. Service was amazing during lunch. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and made sure to check up on us just enough. Would definitely come back.

Was recommended to us by a friend and I have to say It is an Average experience , the (beef) burnt ends are by far the best thing they offer juicy great flavor and just the right amount of flavor. The sliced brisket and smoke sausage were average at best my brisket was dry and I had to use sauce with it . The sausage was Cooked well if not a little over done like it has been sitting for a while and the flavor was average. Pricing and portions where okay (see pictures) my wife also got the brisket and pulled pork her brisket was same as mine the pulled pork is good and worked well with the sauce. Overall a good experience the staff was friendly. The atmosphere is not what I was expecting for BBQ felt more like a upper class restaurant (button up shirts and dress slacks) with the very dark lighting and decor.

As usual, Jack Stack BBQ is a great place for casual business dinner or family! The ambience is great! We are family style for 7 people to share and it is great! From beef, pork to lamb! All side dishes are great! Our server is very attentive and knowledgeable! The corkage fee for brining our wines are good price. (6 stars for this one 😀) There are plenty of parking space at this location!

The quickest service I've experienced for dinner. We arrived for our reservations at 6:15 pm and we finished eating appetizers and dinner at 6:59 pm. I was shocked! I thought we forgot something. We had their lemonade. The peach one - we didn't taste much of it - similar to an after taste. I prefer to taste flavored at the beginning of every taste. We kept stirring but still no better. Luckily, our waiter, who was super new and super friendly and knowledgeable, took it off the bill. We had a BBQ shrimp appetizer. WHATEVER IS THAT SAUCE, KEEP IT!!! we poured it on our vegetables too! We chose 3 beef options - we don't eat pork - lamb, brisket, and rib. As you can see, it was almost gone. My goodness. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

First time at Jack Stack. We are in town for a vacation getaway. Absolutely hands down some of the best food and drinks I've had. From the staff to the food. Everything was amazing! The way the food tasted was like getting a hug that you desperately needed. Putting a smile on your face. This can make your entire day turn around. We had burnt ends for an app. Absolutely phenomenal. So tender and savory they were amazing. I had the pulled pork Mac and cheese. I'm a huge Mac and cheese person. I'm a kid at heart. Let me tell you something. Best Mac and cheese hands down. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Had all the flavors that meshed perfectly. It was like happiness in a bowl. Absolutely will come back next time. Best experience. The drinks were spot on. I had the tropical paradise.

This is one of my favorite BBQ place in Kansas City area. This is a very well known local BBQ restaurant. I normally ordered “pick 3” meats and it was enough to feed 2 people for just $27 with 2 sides. The burnt end is always the best. The lamb was super tender and juicy, it used to be a part of “pick 3”, but now it costs +$5 for the lamb. They also have the best bake bean ever that I couldn’t find the same at anywhere else. The amount of meat and bean was less than 2 years ago since the last time I’ve been to. They always busy, even though it’s Monday.

It's a little more upscale than most bbq places and priced accordingly. I can say the burnt ends are delicious. My daughter's sandwich was about 8" tall so she gave me the onion ring inside which was perfect. She enjoyed her sandwich even if it still was half the size of her head. I've never had steak fries so good.

Every time I am in Kansas City, going to Jack Stack BBQ is a must! The best barbecued beans in the world. I typically enjoy the meat combo where you can get a barbecue chicken with brisket or whatever combination you prefer. Maybe on the expensive side, however, absolutely worth it. The waiting staff is top notch as well, never ran out of drinks.

I came in town for a soccer tournament, and this place was recommended by a parent. It did not disappoint!! I had the 3 meat platter with burnt ends, baby back ribs, and turkey. My sides were fries and baked beans. I sat in the bar area and had Anthony as a server. He was polite, gave good recommendations, and gave 5 star service. It was definitely a great place for dinner and I would recommend this place. I will be back in the future.

I was in town for the holiday market at the Overland Park convention center last week and when I asked where the best bbq was ? Jack Stacks was recommended multiple times and it wax close by so I made a bee line for it. First off I arrived 40 minutes before closing and was uneasy about being that guy who shows up as the place is closing down but the hostess genuinely made me feel welcomed and insisted I stay and eat drink and be merry. I sat at the bar and was greeted joyfully by both Anthony and Stephen two fantastic bartenders!!!! They were so generous and helpful with the menu and never made me feel like I was putting them out by showing so late…. I had the shrimp, burnt ends beef and pork broccoli, potato salad and beans and loved my time so much that I came back the next evening…./ I was shocked that they both remembered my name( I have an extremely odd name) “Audwynn” Just another reason to appreciate this place when you have people who make you feel special ! I had the salmon, saiusage burnt ends broccoli and beans, and loved it so much that my last night in KC I came back for a third round so I could have the smoked grilled wings….. possibly the best I’ve ever had!!!!! The service is 2nd to none!! The food is 2nd to none and all the little things, drinks, sides, cleanliness and clientele are all 2nd to none also!!!it’s a 7 hr drive from Indianapolis to KC but I promise to come back sooner than later just to experience some the best food and experience I’ve ever had. They where always slammed but found a way to take care of everyone and for that it’s well worth the trip when the food is sooo good! Do yourself a favor and swing by the Kack Stacks in Overland Park, sit at the bar and ask for Anthony and Stephen and tell them Audwynn sent ya!

It is a great place for barbecue. Not overly smoky like the one you get in Georgia. Lamb ribs are really something. Beef Burnt ends, cheesy corn, Smoked Prime Rib....out of the world. Their say es have the perfect balance of smoky flavor and spice. Reasonable price. If you are getting appetizers, don't get the 2 or 3 meat combos. It is a lot of food.

Great Barbeque! The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is nice but also has a rugged feel to it. I was ready for some meat! And the cornbread is outrageously good!

  • 3/5 Roger E. 7 months ago on Google
The appetizers were actually better than the meats for some reason the meats were a bit tough. The beans were really tasty. Some of my colleagues said the original location is much better. Will try that location next trip for comparison.

The food was pretty good, but for being a bbq, it took a while to get it to us, and you should probably have a reservation if you have a big group. The service was actually pretty good but just so you know the parking is really small. The atmosphere is also good and overall I do recommend it. 👌

The best KC BBQ we have found yet. Every item was packed with flavor and seasoned wonderfully. If you like really spicy and not “normal people spicy”, definitely ask for their spiciest sauce. SHANNON was a wonderful waitstaff and gave us a wonderful first experience at Jack Stack.

Jack Stack continues to impress me with every visit. Our favorite spot is at the bar. The bartenders are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable on all the drinks and food. The cucumber jalapeño margarita is my favorite! It was once unavailable because they ran out of their house infused tequila (so good). The food is the best in KC. The burnt ends - incredible. I order them at every BBQ restaurant and I’m always let down. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork - flavorful and tender. The surprise are the fire-kissed wings. I don’t even like wings but this flavor is like no other. A nice crispy outside and seasoned with no sauce. Drizzle the grilled jalapeño on top. If the bbq wasn’t enough, the sides are everything. Creamy corn, baked beans, and fries can’t be beat anywhere. They are amazing!

First time here in a long time. This location mmh last several trips and attempts was very sub par. Food and service. Decided to give it one last chance. It’s been several months since my last meal. Everything was great. Food was good and so was the service. Happy to see a staple stepping up their fame again. I got the 3 meat combo. Lamb Ribs, beef burnt ends, and brisket.

  • 5/5 Zee 1 year ago on Google
Nice atmosphere and the server was amazing and helpful. The lambs ribs were fall off the bone delicious and the sauce was caramelized just how they should be on ribs. The burnt ends were well cooked and flavored, did not get very many (6). The cornbread was moist and tasty

I've been to BBQ places all of over the country as well as cooking my own for decades. I fully recommend stopping by one of these restaurants. The meats are a little light on rub, but have nice hickory wood flavor with about a 1/4" deep smoke ring. Sides were also good. We sat in the bar area and the bartender Anthony was as good a server as you will ever meet. The restaurant was clean, along with the bathrooms and even the outside area around the building. Great experience.

We're from Washington state and look forward to eating at Jack Stack. The bbq brisket sandwiches are amazing. No one can top their baked beans with bits of brisket cooked in. It is heaven on earth. My grandfather and grandmother used to love this restaurant. Now my kids love it. Great set up for carryout. Plenty of parking. Make reservations online to save time and minimize your wait when it's busy. This is my favorite restaurant chain. The staff is knowledgeable and super friendly. We can't wait for our next visit to Kansas. Way to go J Stack!!!

The food is good. It's few minutes away from I-435 Metcalf Exit then head to North. I drove from St Louis to Lawrence and since it was lunch so I was looking for a BBQ place and Jack Stack was along the way. I enjoy the food. The staff were friendly and food was great. I put only 3 stars because the utencils wasn't thoroughly cleaned and you can see fingerprints all over it. I always brought hand sanitizer and I used the paper cloth. I'm just hungry.

Regularly voted one of the best BBQ joints in Kansas City, and that's not easy to continually do. This place should be on your bucket list.

**UPDATE** We went back again on 08/17/21, a second visit, to again experience superb food and customer service. Our waiter was a true professional. It was a tremendous experience. It wasn’t hard to imagine that the management behind this establishment must be all class, people of the highest caliber. Original first visit: Excellent food. Excellent service. It has to be one of the best BBQ restaurants in town.

👍👍 Recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Q39 South. We ordered two combination plates with ribs and brisket, but different sides (pictured). The ribs and brisket were fantastic.
