Just an absolutely phenomenal meal. My girlfriend and I opted to sit in the outdoor patio during sunset, but the dimly lit indoor space also seemed lovely. The prix fixe was an excellent deal ($68 for a cold antipasti, salad, two pasta entrees, and shared dessert). I loved the beef carpaccio and moderno salad. The texture of the pappardelle was perfect, though the dish was pretty heavy. I think my favorite dish was the rigatoni e gamberi. I personally loved the tiramisu, though my girlfriend felt it needed more espresso (but honestly what does she know, her opinion on this matter is useless). Overall I left very satisfied and would love to return!

If I could give 6 stars I would. Cocktails handcrafted and delicious. Arancini, fresh house made pasta, steak, fresh fish, and hot homemade doughnuts for dessert. Every detail of every dish was passionately prepared as if we were the only guests. Don’t get me wrong, perfection comes with a price, but it’s justified for this level of service and quality. Don’t waste your special occasion on an expensive plaza chain restaurant. This is one of Kansas City’s finest restaurants.

It's fine. The food tastes fine, the cocktails are fine, the desert was decent considering our expectations at that point. Start by saying setting up a reservation was a little silly. I called for a table for two at 6, they said "Great! Someone will call you back to confirm that." Thirty minutes later I got a call that got pretty much the same information that the first guy got, plus my email. Unnecessarily tedious. The atmosphere is dark and has got "elegant club" vibes. Feels spacious which is nice, very easy to ease drop on your neighbors, which is unromantic. Our waiter was good, though it felt a bit like a facade. He recommended the truffle gnocchi, which was probably the best thing on the menu. I also got a traditional bruschetta, which tasted like marinara on fancy bread. We tried 4 cocktails all together, very drinkable, but they all tasted a bit watered down and on the sweeter side- so not very complex or rich. Overall we spent $$$ on a date night for something that I wouldn't want to try again.

Atmosphere was great, food was mid. I liked the eggplant Parmesan dish, it was perfect. However, the salad was really basic and the chocolate bundino dessert was extremely salty. Service was good and the setting was beautiful.

This place is a little hard to review because the food quality was excellent, but all of our entrees were lukewarm. We were one of about four tables in the entire restaurant. We did come for a brunch, but that still no excuse not to have hot meals. Bravo to the chef on the garlic bread. My husband like the chicken parmesan and the tiramisu is probably one of the best I've ever had. The rest is just hard to review because it wasn't warm.

We have held 2 separate office group events at Plate. The food and experience has been nothing short of fantastic! Our experience coordinator, Beau Fodor, was extremely on point with all of his suggestions, and he arranged for a beautiful private solo from singers from the KC opera on our recent dinner. On both occasions, Chef Christian Joseph was extraordinary in his dish selections and the multiple course experiences he provided. 5 star rating doesn't do it justice. We will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed this restaurant! We went in for a late lunch so it was very quiet but became busier before we left. The waiter was very thorough and familiar with the menu. I ordered what he recommended which was the pappardelle pasta. It was so amazingly good that I secretly wished I would have ordered the dinner portion. If I am in the area again, I’d definitely like to go back. I would like to try the highly recommended garlic bread. It looked really good. I would also like to try dessert. 🍮

Came here for our anniversary and it was delightful! Ordered the rigatoni and the pasta with vodka sauce. For dessert we had the pineapple upside down cake. The staff was so kind and gave us a free glass of champagne for our anniversary. Will definitely celebrate here again!

My wife and I have now been here twice, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both meals were exceptional! For brunch, we had the doughnuts, garlic bread with truffle butter, French toast, chicken risotto and a couple cocktails. For dinner, we had the arancini, garlic bread again (so good and plenty to share), the rigatoni bolognese and carbonara. We also had 2 salad and one of their desserts (olive oil peach cake). Pros: Garlic bread with truffle butter is very fresh and plenty to share. Arancini - best in the city. So good and a must try. The basil pesto is incredible. Pasta entrees- good variety and also delicious. Good portions too for the price Service - friendly, attentive, authentic Con: Dessert - cake was just OK. A little dryer than I would've liked but still good. Probably wouldn't get again.

Absolutely loved this place! We just tried Plate for Restaurant Week and it is definitey one of our new favorite restaurants! We loved the (seasonal item) spicy butternut squash soup, garlic bread, arrabbiata, and tiramisu. The atmosphere is fantastic—modern and relaxing. Also our server (I believe named Ryan) was very nice. They also have a great rewards program that will keep us coming back regularly. Highly recommend!

Upscale atmosphere with pleasant and attentive service. Our group sat inside but the outside seating caught my eye and I noticed they had heaters... mental note for next time.

We have been in twice in the past couple of months and have had Mallory as our server both times. She is exceptional! All of the staff members were super friendly, and Stephanie, the manager, could not have been more of a delight! Each dish was fresh and well presented. The bread the salmon are stupid good...service was fast and efficient. Definitely spot to keep as a go-to for any occasion, or just a normal don't-want-to-cook night.

Really good. Staff was wonderful, super nice. The garlic bread appetizers was spectacular. Noodles were wonderful, ragu was simple and robust, cocktails were as expected. Pork chop was .... well, not great, actually, and expensive for the quality, but everything else was grand. 100% will return.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal! Everything was well seasoned, the salmon was cooked perfectly and the Brussels sprouts were fantastic. I didn’t love the dense texture of the focaccia bread but overall great first experience. Our server was awesome too!

Nice Italian restaurant. Has a parking structure right next to it so it's convenient. We sat on the patio in a drizzle day but it was nice. We ordered cappacio, a salad and gnocchi. I think they all tasted quite good. The meatball in the gnocchi with the sauce was very good. The only downside is the service is bit slow. Not sure if this is because of the pandemic and they are short of people, but it took us about almost 50 min waiting time for 3 dishes. But we also saw some other people get their dishes super fast. So not sure what's going on.

Could not speak well enough about this place. Nina the host and Noah the server were impecable. Everyone who worked there was so nice. It was nice of the restaurant to fit a party of 8 very last minute. Food was incredible and to die for but was smaller portions so do expect that. They were so sweet to accommodate the changes I wanted to make to my pasta. Ambiance is really cool and chic but the music was a little loud for a restaurant so just be prepared for that.

Easy to find in midtown right on 63rd street with plenty of covered parking. The atmosphere is lively and somewhat noisy. I'd say that this is not a good place for conversations but it didn't stop us or anyone else for that matter! It gets pretty loud . The food was delicious many uniquely prepared items with beautiful presentations. The princess and I shared an appetizer, the pear and goat cheese bruschetta and it was indeed excellent. For our main course we split the Osso Bucco a nice portion and also delicious. Our waitress, Maggie, was happy to recommend several menu items that she enjoyed. Her friendly and helpful attitude made the entire experience top notch not to mention her infectious 😊 smile! Be sure and save room for dessert, the chocolate mousse bomb was the bomb! Highly recommend we are sure to return soon.

My husband and I went for restaurant week and had an absolutely incredible experience! Not only was Molly an absolutely incredible server (attentive, funny, and so kind!) But our food and drinks hit every single note. We even said that this was one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time and Plate is absolutely one of our favorite spots in all of KC. If you haven't gone yet, it's a must!!

Party of 3 with 6:30 reservation, on a Friday eve. Brookside area. Upon opening the door, the fragrance of heavenly fresh baked bread and mixture of simmered sauces, were incredible. Seated immediately. The ambiance was half romantic with subtle lighting & half lively, fun conversation. Our server was impeccably dressed, warm, smiling & knowledgeable. He was readily available at all times. Exceptional, varied menu with explicit descriptions of all dishes. Highly recommend this venue. I can't wait to go back to try some other fabulous dish. Not your typical ♡garlic♡ type, Italian cuisine, which was a little disappointing but delish, in spite of the missing cloves.

Our visit here was so perfect and wonderful. All the staff was so kind and helpful regarding questions to the menu. The whole restaurant is super clean, food ingredients were delicious and fresh. We had a reservation for 7:15 pm and left around 9 pm, ordered 4 separate courses. Didn’t have to wait too long for anything and everything arrived at perfect temp. It was New Year’s eve and they were busy but everything was perfect regardless. Try the olive oil cake! The vibe in this restaurant is also just super awesome.(literally got engaged here) :) Thanks Plate!

TLDR: If you have nut allergies, please check your food carefully prior to eating. Food is good, but for the price I wish more care was taken to ensure food was safe for me to eat. When I came in, I let my waiter know that I had a nut allergy and he was good at letting me know which dishes I should avoid. I ordered the Burrata antipasti and he said that was a good choice. It looked amazing when it came out and I started to eat it. It was very good, however I discovered that under some of the prosciutto slices they had sprinkled pistachio pieces and I had accidentally consumed some. I don't have an extreme nut allergy and I only break out in hives, so not the end of the world just a little discomfort. I stopped eating the dish and let my partner finish it. When the waiter came back I let him know and he apologized for the issue and would verify everything else I got would be safe. The arugula salad came and it was good. The pasta came and it was good. Then we picked our dessert, our waiter told me the desserts to avoid and some that could have the nuts left off. So we ordered a sour cherry dessert that came with an almond biscotti crumble on the side. He said he would make sure that didn't get added and he even wrote down a note to the kitchen to ensure it would be nut free. When the dessert came out, it had the almond crumble and I had to send it back to be fixed as soon as it arrived. It was a bit frustrating having to deal with more allergens, when they said they could accommodate me. Overall, the place had good food, but for the price it was probably not worth the benadryl I had to take afterwards.

Came for restaurant week and will definitely be back. It was full and buzzing but seating felt intimate. Service was fantastic and helpful, she offered suggestions and if we had questions, she knew the answer. The garlic bread was absolutely incredible - I don't think I've had anything that good before and it set the tone for the rest of the night (everything after was better than the last). The coffee was a very happy roast and went perfectly with the tiramisu.

Had dinner at Plate the first Saturday of KC Restaurant Week. Beautiful interior. We’re greeted by a very nice lady and seated immediately. Our waiter Sean was wonderful. He had perfect timing and we lacked for nothing. Sean’s wine suggestion was spot on. Excellent glass. We ordered off of the regular menu and it was phenomenal. Fresh pasta. Perfectly cooked. Can’t wait to return, we saw quite a few things we want to try and quite a few we want to eat again. Thanks for the great dining experience.

Visited twice this summer already and will certainly be back- but probably on a week night. The first visit was a Wednesday evening and the service, food, and drinks were excellent. Visited on a Saturday evening and arrived early to have a drink at the bar. They had happy hour options from 2-5p which was a pleasant surprise. The signature cocktails were refreshing and inventive. The Plate 75 and Italian martini were outstanding, and I don't like the taste of alcohol so I definitely recommend those. Our reservation was at 6p and we were seated promptly on the covered patio. We waited longer than I would have liked for our entrées but they were warm and as ordered. We ordered coffee and dessert and again waited longer than anticipated for the dessert to arrive. They had extra runners delivering dishes, so maybe they were just very busy. Overall, excellent place for a date or girls night, but maybe plan to pay the babysitter for an extra hour if visiting on a weekend.

I wasn't sure where the entry to the restaurant was, but after seeing a patron on the patio they directed me to the entry that what through the office building. I could only secure an outside table reservation on open table but the welcoming hostess was beyond accommodating and gave me a booth in the back! My wait staff was very attentive and took my order promptly. I had the White Bean Flatbread and the Carbonara Pasta dish. The flatbread was a bit dry and tasted like day old bread. The white bean dish that accompanied it was lacking in flavor and required some salt and pepper, which wasn't on the table and had to be asked for. Both the salt and pepper shakers didn't have much left inside of them, which led me to believe I couldn't be the only patron who felt some of the dishes served here were on the bland side. I unfortunately found the entree pasta to be cold upon arrival and lacking in depth of flavor as well. The sauce on the pasta did pair well with the firm bread though, so I did enjoy that. If you look at the check from the restaurant they do incentivize patrons to come back and I really appreciate things like that. Overall, I think the food just needed a bit more flavor and attention. The waitstaff was fantastic though.
