Impressive hospitality and atmosphere! My husband and I came here for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. The pasta was our favorite. Platings were great on each entree. Asparagus soup, chicken and pork entree were ordinary, didn’t complain but didn’t love them either.

Enjoyed a perfect meal here on a Saturday night. My girlfriend and I shared the tart tatin, pheasant breast and foie gras, buttermilk fried quail and waffle, and the lobster aglonotti. My favorite was the pheasant breast, though everything was delicious. Each dish was elegantly prepared and presented an eclectic mix of flavors. We finished the meal with the chocolate ganache tart. Portion sizes were appropriate, I would recommend 4-5 dishes to share between 2 people. Wait staff were friendly and the ambience was lovely. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Kansas City!

A nice restaurant with great food and nice food presentation! Not many restaurant these days will ask you to choose from sparkling water or still water and this restaurant does! I would recommend to reserve your table early in the week for weekend dinner to secure your spot! A lunch l menu will be different than a dinner menu.

Very courteous service. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxing. Tiffany was very accommodating as a hostess. Drew was an entertaining and knowledgeable server. All the staff helped make my birthday dinner special and everyone wished me a happy birthday. Our drinks were never empty and our entrees were beyond satisfactory. I can’t wait to come back! Would recommend to anyone looking for a place for special occasions or just wanting to treat themselves

From the moment we walked into Restaurant at 1900, we felt welcomed. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between elegance and comfort. However, what stole the show was the cod main plate. My husband proclaimed it was the best cod he's had in 20 years—high praise indeed! The texture was flaky, and the flavors were impeccably balanced. To complement our meal, we had the pleasure of choosing from an extensive wine and whiskey list. Each sip seemed to elevate the dining experience to new heights. If you're a fan of seafood or simply want an exceptional meal, don't miss this hidden gem. A five-star experience we can't wait to repeat!

If I had to pick just one restaurant in KC, this would be the place. It's a remarkably even balance of elements: expertly-prepared food, clever cocktails, comfortable surroundings and excellent hospitality. The menu changes regularly, so I don't have any specific dishes to recommend. For the appetizer course I've had soups, salads and other options without ever making a bad choice. Likewise the pastas, entrees and desserts have been uniformly delicious. Just three days before I wrote this review, 1900 was named as a semifinalist for a Beard Award for hospitality. They deserve the prize. Servers are polite and efficient, and they know their regular customers by name.

We make a 30 min drive from south Overland Park time and time again to have ~the best~ evenings here. Date nights. Gathering with friends. Gathering with colleagues. Gathering with family. Their ambience fits every type of get together. The food, drinks, and service/people are phenomenal and ~genuine.~ This place is so special. The patio is a breath of fresh air. The interior ambience is like a warm hug with their comfortable furniture. The bathrooms are always clean. A solid win with every. Single. Visit. Thank you Restaurant at 1900 ❤️

The 1900 Restaurant is a tremendous place to relax and enjoy dinner, my girl friend and I went here for her birthday and they cared so much and showed their genuine appreciation. very peaceful environment, amazing waiters and waitresses, yummy delicious food that changes every now and then, so you always have options. Both Garganelli in Carrot-Almond Miso Sauce and the Taro Gnocchi with Beef Shortrib and Oxtail Ragu were great choices. Will definitely be back very soon.

My wife and I had the worst experience ever at this restaurant. It was her birthday, and I called ahead of time to reserve a table in the dining room for two. Once we showed up, they informed us the only table we had was at the bar between the servers station and the front window by the front door where everybody came in. I was told by a woman manager who was very rude that we would have to wait 45 minutes for the table that I requested because I didn’t talk to her ahead of time. Of course this made us very upset and was a bad start to the night . The food was very small portions and over priced and quite frankly not good at all. Upon leaving I started to feel a little bit weird and feverish. We were both very very sick all night long and I ended up having to go to my doctor the next day and be treated for food poisoning. We ate a lamb special that had pretty much raw lamb in it and a lobster roll on a McDonald’s style bun. Don’t know what gave us the food poisoning and the general manager basically kind of called me a liar when I called in and let him know. So if anybody else was sick, they would know. We left the restaurant hungry and not feeling good at all. When we called the general manager, nothing was done or understood, only excuses were made. Thanks restaurant 1900 you made my wife’s birthday night a real hit! You should consider a different type of business because the fancy building and decorations do not justify any of the service or food that you provide.

An unassuming restaurant, elegantly simple, as is the food. From the perfect 1900 martini, to the halibut credo, beetroot torchio and grilled blackberry quail, this world-traveler foodie was amazed and impressed. Perfect service, a well-designed wine list add to the experience. And dining at this restaurant is an experience you don’t want to miss!

I cannot say enough good things about 1900. We've dined here several times and are never disappointed. The food is some of the best in KC. The atmosphere is laid back, cozy and inviting. The service is friendly and the staff is knowledgeable about wine and food. We recently had NYE dinner here and had a wonderful dinner with expertly paired wines.

It was an ok experience. We waited an hour for food, and the portions were tiny. It was recommended that we pick two entrees each because of size. It was also very expensive. Two entrees, two drinks and a serving of bread was almost $100. The service was top tier and the restaurant was beautiful. Very upscale.

We LOVED dining here. We arrived a little early so we were able to sit and enjoy a cocktail in a little lounge area, every single member of the staff was so polite and seemed genuinely happy to be there. We were able to look over the menu while we had our drinks, so we immediately ordered our starters once we sat down. We are not super fancy people, never tried pheasant, and had to Google what Foie Gras was, but let me tell you, it was AMAZING. AMAZING!!!!!! A lovely gentleman with a bee bowtie (management?) came over and apologized for the wait on our entrees, which we legitimately hadn't noticed since we had two starters, but he was so sweet and polite nonetheless! Once we got our meals, we were thrilled at how good everything tasted, and Jamie, our server, went above and beyond for us the rest of the time we were there. We will definitely be back soon! So excited to see what's on the menu next!

This is a perfect place to go to if you want to try a few different things. Trying a variety of different pastas, I mean who doesn’t want that— my husband and I split 2 half options and an entree. Soooo delicious! The host staff opened the doors for us and wished us an Happy Anniversary right away— as did the manager on the way out. You can tell everyone has great teamwork there, as both the host and other servers went out of their fill our waters. Just a very well managed restaurant with an incredibly kind staff. We will most definitely be back

We sat outside on the patio. It was very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The restaurant is kind of away a bit from the busy streets. The food was excellent. Had the grilled cheese and the lamb.

My only regret is we didn’t come here sooner. My husband and I (who are newish to town) have been meaning to eat here for months but always wait till the last minute, can’t get a reservation, say, ‘maybe next weekend’ and then repeat. Well anyway, we finally made it in and damn if it wasn’t amazing. This is one of those places that even if the food was just ‘ok’ you’d come back and again just because the service is so phenomenal. Shout out to our amazing server Tyler, what cloud of awesomeness did he fall off of!? Tyler, we love you! Seriously, call ahead and reserve him, thank us later. Then there’s the food which is on a whole other level itself. What they can do with a tomato, a watermelon and some yogurt tastes so good you almost wonder if it’s legal!? My husband had the short rib which transported us both to a new dimension. I had the quail which I practically sucked off the bone. Like, I had to tie my hair back just to make sure I could commit myself fully to the meal without any distraction. All in all, truly a 5 star experience, we’re already planning our next trip back. If you’re still reading this and aren’t convinced, I’m not sure what more I can say… pretty sure the patio won an award for best in Mission Hills if patios are your thing. The water fall was pretty legit… just go and thank me later.

I took my husband and kiddos to try this nice restaurant based on a friend recommendation. We did not make a reservation but felt so unwelcome when we were told that there’s no seating available for the day. What’s disappointing is that a wait list time was not even offered like any other restaurant would normally do on a busy day. It would be nicer to offer suggestions like a wait list time or making a reservation on another day to make your customers feel valued !

Go here, you can not be disappointed. Their attention to detail, from the table atmosphere, to the service, to the menu and drinks, is unmatched. Everyone makes you genuinely feel like they want to help you have the best culinary experience. The servers give fabulous wine-pairing recommendations, and you must save room for dessert. One of the best in KC!
