Scott’s Kitchen serves the best burnt ends and baked beans I have ever tasted, and the ribs are phenomenal. I was traveling to the Kansas City Airport for my departure flight, so I wanted to find some food nearby. I noticed this restaurant was only 1 1/2 miles away, little did I know this was the best barbecue in Kansas City. I’ve eaten at all the major barbecue restaurants in Kansas City, hands-down this is the best. I ordered the 4 rib and burnt end platter, for sides I ordered baked beans and potato salad. The burnt ends and baked beans are the best I’ve had from any restaurant in the country, and the ribs are definitely in my top three. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere at this restaurant was very laid-back and welcoming. If you want to try Kansas City style barbecue, you have some of the best barbecue you’ve ever tasted at this restaurant.

My family and I stayed out by the airport our last night in KC as we had an early morning flight the next day. We were a little worried about the food options available on a Sunday night and we found this little BBQ spot right by our hotel in an industrial area and it did not disappoint. The burnt ends were DELICIOUS, along with the baked beans and cheesy potatoes. I really enjoyed their BBQ sauce as well. To top dinner off with a toffee infused chocolate chip cookie which was to die for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND Scott's Kitchen!

So glad we came across Scott’s. If you haven’t been here yet you must make it a priority to get here. The meat is awesome. We had the 1-2 Passenger Platter and it fed 3 adults and a 3 year old and we still had plenty to take home. Also, had a brisket taco and ordered it mild instead of spicy. Everything we had was AWESOME!! Brisket was some of the best I have found so far since moving here a year ago. Always looking for good brisket. We will definitely be back!!

If you want to make sure you get to the airport on time, but have some time to burn before you need to return your car, this is where you should spend that time!!! I was reluctant to come here given the location since there aren't a lot of restaurants in this area. (5 minutes from the airport) Turns out it's one of the best stops you can make when coming from or going to the airport, and may turn out to be one of the best meals you have in Kansas City. I could tell by how popular they were with the many locals that this was going to be a good choice. The ribs were delicious and fell off the bone, the sausage was tender and very flavorful, the gumbo was outstanding and the beans were delicious. Plenty of parking, order at the counter, then grab one of the tables or a counter seat inside, on the covered patio, or out front on the outdoor tables.

Just visiting and took a chance on this small unassuming place. DELICIOUS! Ribs and pulled pork are incredibly tender. Beans and cheesy potatoes are really flavorful.

Exceptional tacos with great hot sauces. My friend introduced me to this place. By the end I was asking to buy the hot sauce that came on the tacos. It really stood out to me. They do sell them in small bottles at the front. You can't also sample them. It's a cute small spot. Not that many tables. I'm told they are only open for lunch and mostly just on the weekdays (if this is wrong, blame my friend, I didn't check the hours though) My friend had wanted me to grab ribs, I did, but got the sauces and even got some extra tortillas with it. (Their tortillas are very good as well) Parking is available in a medium sized private lot. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

Designed to check this place out because it is only a block away from my hotel. Pricing is easy on the wallet. Delicious BBQ! Note: from a guy who had Pecan Lodge from Dallas. Definitely on par if you ask me.

Talk about amazing. Wow!! We stumbled on this local place while spending the night before a flight at the Kansas City Airport. We’ve had barbecue all across the country, and this is a top contender for the best ever. We can vouch for their ribs and burnt ends, as well as their fantastic homemade sides. We’re so glad we experienced the baked beans, cheesy potatoes, and potato salad. And the owner named Scott couldn’t be friendlier and more proud of what is truly an outstanding food experience. We would go out of our way to come back to Scott’s Kitchen!! Last, we were surprised to see they also make breakfast. We haven’t tried this yet, but based on our dinner experience, we have no doubt it would be worth getting up early for!

Wow! Very casual, but fantastic meat and BBQ sauce. I had the Pulled Pork with sides of Potato Salad and Gumbo. Sadly, after I got hold of Scott’s Sweet BBQ Sauce, I couldn’t taste anything else. I actually thought of stealing some, but the airport’s look dimly on liquid in suitcases. But next time…. :) Really good food, and the Iced Tea was quite good, too. I’ll be back!!

Amazing brisket and burnt ends. Both were tender, juicy, just the right amount of fat, and had a great smoky flavor and a nice dark/tasty bark. Loved the sausage too, but beef always overrides for me! Friendly, welcoming staff. Scott stopped by the table a couple of times and welcomed us and talked BBQ with us…helped make the experience all the better. Highly recommended.

I stopped in for a birthday platter and was pleasantly surprised with an amazing lunch! One that I couldn’t finish! I definitely was happy to have some burnt ends and ghost peppers sausage later! I will definitely be back for a breakfast burrito in the future!

This is a GREAT stop to/from the airport! It's close, you'll feel nice and full, you can leave your luggage in the car instead of bringing it with you to eat (unlike the restaurants IN the airport). And if you don't have to sit down and eat if you're in a hurry; a lot of people come in and order their meal to-go. LOVE their food, too! It's the best place to take a friend that's visiting Kansas City because of the BBQ - the burnt ends here are VERY savory! I also love the soft tacos, sausage gravy and biscuits, chicken wings/legs (these are pretty good size and full of meat on the bones!), and the Avacado Bowl I tried today was spicy was delicious! And the employees are always so helpful and nice! They're always quick to bring is extra things we need (like lots of napkins for my kids) before we even ask!

Best Chili in town! I worked close to Scott’s kitchen and came over 1-2 times per week. Every food was super yummy, staff is friendly and it’s always nice to come back.

A lot of options for all foodies. The brisket beef burrito was simply amazing, phenomenal. The service at the counter as well as our server (Trisha) provided excellent friendly customer service. I woke up thinking about the burrito.

Traveling through the area and was looking for some local BBQ. This place did not disappoint. Family had a variety of items including a sampler platter and the turkey chili. Favorites of meats were the ribs and smoked turkey. The brisket taco was fav of the taco choices. The salad bowls were a little too spicy, but I am sure others would like that. Of the sides, the cheesy potatoes and the apple jalapeño cole slaw were amazing.

Wow!! This restaurant is outstanding…From the amazing staff and the cleanliness of the place. Heck the customers were nice and happy…I love the variety of the foods bc it’s not just BBQ….It was my first time, and I originally came because of the article I read that featured my college friend Veronica. It was a very long drive but I tell you,..The food was absolutely delicious!!! Wow!!! I’m very impressed..My favorite side was the baked beans…They are perfect…I mean I loved all the food I got…..Although we live far I kid you not…I’m going to find a way back for more food….Yummy!!! This was a great experience…Thank you!!!!

Had "Pulled Pork Sandwich" that was loaded with the good stuff. Although it's $11 for just the sandwich..consider an investment that's going to pay your BBQ taste buds a nice dividend. Also had a cup of Turkey Sausage Gumbo which was downright delicious and a testament to someone in the kitchen who really knows how to combine taste and texture. Next time I'm have the bowl. A Take Away order of Tacos turned out to be another delicious surprise..Burnt Ends, Fish and Shrimp still not sure which one was my favorite.. Maybe all of them. The Trio selection from about $11 is a bargain depending on which ones you choose but hard to go wrong with your selection.

Was in town, first time being further west than Ohio, for a little while and recommended I try that good old Kansas/Missouri BBQ. What I got delivered was absolute heaven. Never had any sort of BBQ even remotely close, except a buddy's homemade pulled pork sandwich, but they were from Kansas, so it speaks to the quality! Recommend the Brisket sandwich, turkey and sausage gumbo, and the baked BBQ beans. Decided to get a side of their spicy BBQ sauce. Did not regret and neither will you. Highly recommend!

This place is a DREAM COME TRUE! I’m going to say it’s the TOP 3 BBQ I’ve ever eaten. Just getting out of the car in the parking lot you know you are entering those Smokey Gates of Awesomeness. I ordered the pork chili as an appetizer and followed that with the most incredible burnt ends I’ve eaten in a very long time and some of the thickest cut and dark bark slices of brisket ever. I will literally drive the 3.5 hours one way again very soon during the week to experience this at least once a month.

The burnt ends & ribs were so so good! 🤩 The meat was juicy. The seasoning was very sweet The sides were okay! The potato salad was mid but the cheesy potatoes were pretty good Very friendly service :-)

Ate here while traveling. The chicken tacos were okay, but the red sauce was HOT! I have a low tolerance for spicy things so I was disappointed that I had to scrape most of the cheese and onion off because of the sauce. They offered to make new ones but I declined. It wasn’t inedible, just more hot than I like. The cheesy potatoes were delicious. I tasted the potato salad but didn’t care for the strong pickle taste. The staff was super sweet and the atmosphere was good.

I concur! This place deserves the star rating they have. Absolutely delicious! We got the sampler BBQ platter. Everything has such excellent flavor! I'm not really a fan of sweet meats, so the baby back ribs were a little too sweet for my taste, but.... The burnt ends and the brisket were superb! Service was excellent too! Everyone so friendly. Thank you!!

Dropped my wife off at the airport, then stopped in at Scott's Kitchen for lunch. Cool place, super-friendly and helpful staff. Expected great top-tier KC barbecue, and that's exactly what I got. Unfortunately, they were out of ribs but gave me extra brisket to make up for it. Everything on my 1-2 Passenger Platter was good, but favorite meat was the sausage, and favorite side was slaw. Now I'm looking forward to the leftovers!
