Beautiful and spacious, there are paved paths and open fields filled with trees. It is well kept and large enough to feel like you’re in your own world while also making spaces to connect with strangers and enjoy nature together. Visiting this place made me excited to move to Kansas City.

Swope park is always great. Catch a show at Starlight, visit the zoo, play golf, go mountain biking, or hiking. I’m sure there are some things I missed call of the green space is beautiful. The blue river and various creeks are very nice. Tons to do here.

Amazing setup for a banquet hall. Smooth flow of traffic inside and out. Made for a sit down meal. No space to mix or mingle before. Good sight lines for a presentation.

The park IS massive. Huge expanses of open grass and areas. The pictures are from the 39th Annual Ethnic Enrichment Festival 2018. An incredible two day event with over 90 cultures and foods represented. There were thousands of people and still the park surrounded. Gazebo area nice and maintained. A very cool spot in KCMO.

Looks like a great park but with the history I have a suggestion the whole park should be re-named shelter 5. If I researched correctly...back in segregation days black people were only allowed to use shelter 5 out of all the facilities in the park . I say we celebrate each other and love each other regardless of our skin color. Thankful shelter 5 did atleast exist.

It was a great day for the zoo but I don't think the animals agreed they were a bit sleepy. But we had a good time.

Attended a few ethnic festivals here over the years. I never have come down to just explore, but I LOVE how it is close to the zoo, Starlight Theater, and KC Pet Project. The sense of community is strong here 💪 The park itself is pretty and has some gazebos you can rent for events. It is located close to downtown KC and close to the highways. There are a lot of amenities at this park including disc golf, community centers, trails, and more.

I'm always amazed that the beauty of swope Park. I love these huge Park set in the center of these large cities, not many cities had this much for thought over a hundred years ago to save a large area like this for an open Park. The zoo here is amazing, The starlight theater is amazing, and all the pavilions that they have for used by the public are really need to look at. Always a nice experience to come here.

This park is so massive that it is hard to describe. The playground area is a fun area to play after a trip to the zoo, but can be slightly sketchy due to men in trucks who hang out around the edges of the parking area for indefinite amounts of time. Also, watch out for rain as the parking area turns into a giant mud pit. Otherwise, very fun but no nearby toilets.

Park has lots of trash laying all over to include empty alcohol bottles. The parking was spaced out to allow access to the different areas.

The Ethnic Enrichment festival was amazing. The park itself is nice, very spacious. Could use more bathrooms, I only saw the event port-o-potties. Not many covered areas either.

This park has change so much since I last visited in 1994… Duh. It’s been 30 years. Of course it’s changed, but Kansas City has done a nice job in the development over the time.

Decent park but not entirely family friendly, especially on the weekend with tons of motorcycles and atv riding around but when that's not going on its great for having events.

Always a chill spot during the day. Not so sure about nighttime park adventures. Starlight is the best outdoor venue period.

Having a fun field day any time of the week. Watching the cool cars roll through and do donuts keep the kids entertained along with the few playgrounds next to the zoo.

Love how they redid the water fountain. They need to get the lights together cause this is what makes it beautiful to see. Start having it on more at night. Everytime I come by I stop and take pictures r do a video. I need to come up close to see what the statue is,will be doing that real soon.

Largest park in Kansas City. Varied activities available including disc golf, walk trails, nature center, zoo, Starlight, soccer, & community center. The city continues to improve upon its offerings for residents & visitors, alike!

Went to ethnic enrichment festival. I love the entertainment and shops from different countries. The real draw though fore is the food and it was very poorly organized. Huge lines, poor payment system. Many ran out of food. Small changes to organization would make a huge difference.

Had the chance to go to Ethnic Festival. Clearly a lot of planning and thought went into making the event a success. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We need more events like this that brings a cross section of people together if we hope to one day heal the divide the politicians and media is working so hard at deepening.

A beautiful park.... In some places. Still has a pretty creepy vibe in other spots. I really like the dog park, and it's nice to see the new Kansas City animal shelter there (in a gorgeous & HUGE new facility) If you're visiting, don't miss the Nature Center on Gregory Blvd, which is also in a fairly new, big facility. I know there's lots of other things to see and do in Swope Park, but I've never used any of the other facilities, such as a public pool, baseball fields, fishing lake or the beautiful picnic shelters. I just drive thru on Gregory to go to the Kansas City Zoo, which used to be called the Swipe Park zoo!

Attending a matinee event is the way to go. The signage was great. Parking in mid afternoon in December was great. Van Gogh exhibit was well worth the visit.

My grandson and I came up to do a walk for the koalas and it was a beautiful walk through the zoo. Think Omaha may still have them beat , but what a nice property and it was so nice to see the koala bears. The Blue River running through the entrance to Africa is really quite unique also

Was amazing. Was able to go through twice and the kids loved it. Was very well set up and the lady at the entrance was sweet and awesome. Will definitely be visiting again next year. Even our teenager (13 almost 14) loved it especially the music to go along with it was awesome.

I took my mother to KC Zoo the day after Christmas. It was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed purchasing outing. What I love about this zoo is you never know what animals you will see the different times of the year and even different parts of the day. Sometimes they are out or asleep/awake. You just never know. So it is different each time I go.

Loved taking our dog here for some of the biking/hiking/horse trails. Every time we go we find a new spot we haven't seen yet and some fantastic natural gems like limestone caves and beautiful lakes.
