This place is closed! Apparently permanently too. Don't believe the hours. If you're looking for something similar, check out the TWA museum on the other side of the airport. You drive right past it on the way to the this defunct museum. It was outstanding.

We drove here out of town and they where so kind to me and my group of friends. We got to get up love and personal with the aircraft and had some very amazing conversations with the tour guide. As a pilot my self it was a fantastic oppertunity to see where we have come from in aviation and it really gave me a detailed idea of where we will be going in the future. All puns intended it is only up from here! They had multiple diffewnt aircraft on display some you could actually walk through while some where just for looking at. They are actively trying to restore all of these aircraft to flying standards again so they can be enjoyed outside of the hangar as well as inside! Very well done museum everyone! I was extremly pleased and I can't wait for more opportunities to enjoy this place.

Very, very impressed. The staff who volunteer their time here care a lot about what they do, the history, the artifacts, and the guest's experiences. I felt we received very welcoming, personalized service. I had the opportunity to speak with knowledgeable volunteers who took an interest in my visit and that made a huge difference in my enjoyment. I felt comfortable to ask questions, look around, and get more info. Very friendly and personable. It is very affordable to visit this museum. The artifacts are things I've never seen before. You have the opportunity to see the cockpits of multiple planes. You can go inside two different types of old planes, much different than what we see today, and explore the whole plane as well. It is connected to the landing strip where you can see planes take off. It was a very unique experience and I recommend everyone to visit. I really enjoyed it - never seen a museum like this in my travels and I've been to quite a bit of places. Thanks for an excellent visit on 8/27!

The good: Cool collection of aviation history. Seeing how airlines performed in the past is eye opening and nothing like it is today. This collection is worth seeing, it’s worth the time and money. The gentleman working in the office is kind and knowledgeable of all the items they have. If you’re an aviation nut like me this is a must while in KC. The bad: Visited during second week of August 2020 and the hanger was a little warm. Few hands on exhibits closed due to Covid πŸ˜”

I had a chance to visit the museum on 12/29/21 and my overall take is mixed which is why I would rate this attraction 3 stars. The good: The staff member who was working that day was very polite and was open to conversation about the exhibits. He explained the layout of the museum as well as some history about the planes that were on display. It's was a plus to be able to walk through two planes and get a first hand experience. The not so good: This place is in desperate need of an update. When I first pulled up to the building I noticed a huge chunk missing from the side of the exterior of the building. Many of the displays and exhibits were probably at one time well done but the years have not been good to this dated museum. Im sure most of this museums issues are due to a lack of funding which is sad. The gift shop had some old tshirts, high priced model airplanes, cases of water in a cooler, a fax machine and some other random things that may of been storage items. It was worth the $10 admission to see what was on display and walk through the planes but you can do it all in less than 30 minutes even if you stop and read everything. It would of been nice to see this museum back in its glory days ...... years and years ago. Maybe in the future, just like most of the planes that were on display, it will be fully restored and can fly high once again.

Good museum for learning about passenger aviation in the 1940s-1960s era. It was really interesting to walk aboard the two planes and compare them to the air-travel experience of today. I also enjoyed the gallery with the old uniforms, photos, and other artifacts. The tour guide was very knowledgeable but focused perhaps a bit too heavily on technical details. The admission is supposed to be $8 for adults but we were charged $10 each.

Finally got a chance to check this museum out. It is so much more than what I thought it was going to be! The history that just exudes from the entire hangar, let alone the wonderful aircraft they have... This place is absolutely unappreciated and should not be missed. Our guide was very friendly, knowledgeable and was just the right amount of tell you about things and let you check it out yourself. Support this museum, these are the kinds of places that are few and far between these days.

There are not many signs to tell you about the planes display. There are two planes that you can go inside. Since they are trying to restore them, they ask for a donation to go through them. There was a gentleman who spoke with us and he was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, this was a small museum that was neat to visit.

Jack Koder was a fantastic guide. We had a great time seeing the planes and learning about the history of them and the airlines they flew for from him.

It seems like the airline is close to the public but they have not updated their website or Facebook page of this information. So we drove all the way out here before finding out they were closed. Bummer looks really cool

Great museum I visited in June 2022 run by kind and enthusiastic volunteers! I loved being able to actually climb inside and explore historic aircraft! It's a shame they've been closed for a while now. Hopefully the city can help them out because this is a fantastic hidden gem in KC.

The museum is currently closed due to pending litigation over their lease. Please do not try to go here. I will remove this when the suite has been settled.
