This is a great place to take your kids for a fun morning! It was extremely hot, even at 10 am. There is a fair amount of shade and there are some picnic benches in a covered seating area by the entrance. They provided mini bottles of water which was nice but you still want to be prepared for sun. The bathrooms are air conditioned! As far as animals go, there are a couple of petting zoo areas plus the bird section as well as cows and horses throughout in pens zoo style. Well worth the low price. There are several playgrounds and several places to get snacks or lunch.

This is a fun place to go with the little ones and it really doesn't cost much. We had fun playing in the water while looking for special rocks that you buy from them. We got to feed goats, which the grandkids always love to do. Hayride and a park that was fun also. We didn't do the pony ride or fishing because it was Sunday, and we had to be home for Chiefs game. We had a wonderful time. We can't wait for the pumpkin area to open up to enjoy that next time.

Just WOW! This place is amazing. There are farm animals you can feed, baby goats you can give bottles to. Cows and calves with feeding and milking demonstrations. A HUGE playground, bobcats, prairie dogs - all with clean cages and close up. What an incredible spot for families.

A really great place for young kids, it is both educational and fun for them. The staff is exceptionally helpful and kind. We spent over 3 hours and the kids loved every moment. They have lots of exhibits and activities that come with the regular admission, but we found that the full pass was worth the extra cost. That pass gave the kids access to feeding goats, fishing, mining and a wagon ride.

A great morning at Deanna Rose Farmstead. Kids love it! Chickens, cows, horses, goats, pigs, fish & more to see (and even feed). There are plenty of trees so even on hot summer days you can find shade. Playgrounds & a general store & ice cream shop makes for a great outing. Lots to do! And entry fee is reasonable for a large family!!

Very affordable! And so much to do! I had my 2 year old and 9 month old and we spent about 2.5 hours and didn’t see everything but they were getting tired by that point so we called it a day. They have multiple play grounds and of different kinds. Some are all about tractors while others are more traditional or others are done around a garden. You can feed baby goats, big goats, fish, go fishing, see milking with a big machine, and go on a hayride pulled by horses.

Cheap entry fee for a nice outdoor experience for the kids. Favorites: feeding the baby goats with bottles and feeding the grown goats. Plenty of shade to stay cool and small water spray area. Playgrounds and activities for all ages. Wish all the "characters" in old town building were more interactive. Although bank "employee" gave us a lot of good history and explained to kids how banks used to work.

This has become a favorite spot for my family. Love the fact that it's so easily accessible for the parking the ticket prices the areas and how everything about it is so perfect. In order for me to rate a place five stars I would have to have a wonderful experience and that I did. I love that Bald Eagle although questions popped in my head about haha. Very great place to takes amazing photos with the family. Great interactive areas and informative. Super friendly for children to enjoy. Love their little shops with their western theme. Great assortment of animals I didn't expect to see. Definitely recommend if you want something calm and easy to enjoy

A great place to bring the kids. There are so many things to do, including bottle-feeding baby goats and fishing. The concessions are decently priced. The animals are super friendly and the entire place takes up a good amount of time to go through. The best part is they're free after 2pm. Overall it was a great experience!

This place is more than worth the $5 entry fees for what it provides. A beautiful space for young children to interact with nature and learn about farming and animals with the addition of multiple playground areas. Minus one star because many of the facilities, especially the wash stations, benches, and playground areas could be much better attended. If one person litters or vandalizes them in any way, there appears to be virtually no one there who will fix it with any expediency. Many of the wash stations were extremely dirty, littered, rusted, and in disrepair, there was dirty stagnant water with trash due to the unleveled concrete in the children's splash pad, trash in the artificially dyed blue pond with the fake swans, and trash on every other bench. They need to hire more on-site maintenance personnel and security to regulate unruly patrons who care nothing of the public good. Otherwise, this is an ideal place to spend a day with children productively.

Took my family here as this is a place I have enjoyed for many years growing up. The price is perfect at just $3 per person 3 and up. There is a vast variety of animals to see and even animals you can feed. My daughter who is 1 enjoyed the ducks and the baby goats who wanted to nibble on her clothes. It has old timey places to explore and well over 200 animals on the farm. I enjoy the fact that it has a hay ride pulled by the most beautiful pair of horses I’ve laid eyes on. At certain times you can milk the cow and if you have older children fishing is a plus!

Had a lovely day here with my 3 yr old nephew! We arrived after 2 because it was free to get in and he just had a delightful time. Great way to waste a day with kids! It was a Tuesday so it wasn't super crowded

We drove over 4hrs from Iowa. We had a great time, the kids loved it. Unfortunately after a long car ride and the sun finally deciding to come out, it was really humid, so we didn't stay as long as we planned, but we have decided we are coming back with the kids next year, and when the weather is a little cooler. Definitely recommend going, it is a great place to take kids

We absolutely love going here on nice days. There's so much for the kids to do and see. It's beautifully decorated and maintained and the staff is pleasant. We go often! Very cheap and free after 3 I believe.

This is the best place for your young kids to pet animals. You can feed the goats and lambs but you need a quarters or you can use $1 bills by the picnic table just on the wall by the other side of the mens bathroom an the entrance. There are hey rides that cost money, there is fishing but it cost $3 to fish. But it is fun overall.

We love visiting this Farmstead when we’re back in town with family. Our kids were finally old enough to fish and feed the baby goats. The line for feeding the goats were too long and they were full by the time we got there. When we fished, there were no fish to catch and everyone looked like they were standing around patiently waiting. Guess that’s how fishing goes! Haha. We loved the nature path to cool off from the summer heat and ended out time with ice cream! We will go back and try to feed the goats earlier.

We had a really great time at this farm on Father's day with my kids aged 2 and 4. We enjoyed seeing, petting and feeding the various animals: chicken, goats, cows, sheep, pigs, llama, parrot and etc. Very reasonable priced. There are also many playgrounds for the kids to play. There is a general store and a concession stand to get hot dogs and cold sandwiches, and ice cream. Would recommend.

It is such a nice area to walk around and see animals. We love the feel of the old time stores. Don't forget to take a vintage picture! They're hilarious. There's a general store and ice cream shop. Admission is very affordable. You can easily see the whole area in a day. Bring quarters to buy feed. Dispensers are available throughout the area to feed some of the animals. There is a playground area and plenty of shade. We love looking at all the beautiful plants grown here, too! They also have movie nights!

Came for a kindergarten field trip with my son and it was our first trip. We will for sure be visiting much more often. It's so relaxing and the little ones have so much to do. We really enjoyed all the little shops and the food options.

What a wonderful place! It was clean, stroller friendly, and never ending fun. My kids enjoyed learning about cows while watching a cow be milked, feeding baby goats and playing on the awesome playgrounds. My son caught his first fish at their pond. You can pay $3 for a pole and a bucket of worms. We thought we had seen it all until we came upon a petting zoo area and beautiful gardens. We can’t wait to go back!

We went to the Deanna Rose Pumpkin Patch with my toddler. It was really cute, we got to take a horse-drawn hay ride from the farmstead to the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch had lots of different kinds of activities for all age ranges. Mini golf, corn-hole, checkers, slides, mazes, hay-pits to jump in, hoops to shoot basketballs in, bowling for kids (you set the bowling ball on a slide and it rolls down and knocks over the pins). My favorite part was that they had a separate area for toddlers. Sometimes it can be overwhelming for younger kids to play with the 'big kids' and they took that into account and provided an area for them to play and have fun.

I'd probably rank it higher if we weren't rained out. We didn't get to see a lot of it so I can only review what we saw. It's a good place to stretch your legs and bottle feed some goats. Pretty apple trees and flowers.

This place was incredible. I came with my preschool family members, and they had the time of their lives! The attractions range from petting baby goats, sifting for rocks, exploring the butterfly garden, and even some “adult” activities, like a live orchestra. Most importantly, the place was built with children in mind. The playgrounds were in alcoves so you could watch the exits. The sidewalks were wide and smooth - perfect for strollers. The animal interactions were observed by staff, and bigger animals like cows and horses were kept at a distance. And the price was unbeatable!

Did you know that they have a Photo Booth next to the ice cream shop. We thought it was just a little museum until we went inside. Very reasonable pricing and so much fun for you and your kiddos.

Lovely little place in Overland Park. I wouldn’t call it a “learning experience” but it is an experience. Lots of farm animals to look at, goats and sheep to pet, weirdly, a bobcat pair to admire, the wild animals made me a bit uncomfortable, especially the bald eagle who seemed stressed). We happened to go the first time during October, so we were able to take the wagon down to Pumpkin Hallow. Like most of the farm, it was lawless, depending on parents to police their kids. We were able to keep our son from being trampled or shoved off the hay pile, but I recommend keeping a weather eye out. The blacksmith was pretty cool. I enjoyed chatting with her. In general, despite parental anxiety, our son had a great time, and we would definitely return. Outside food and drink are not allowed into the farm, but there are picnic tables outside. Your ticket is good for the entire day of coming and going.

A lot of fun to be had here! The mining experience was fun! We also enjoyed petting and feeding the animals. Would also recommend the wagon ride, very fun as well!

Took my girlfriend for her birthday because she loves animals especially the babies. This park was very clean and well maintained very family friendly and extremely affordable. Only $3 admission per person. You can buy bottles of milk to feed the baby goats for $1ea. and a cane fishing pole with a small bucket of worms were $3 ea. If you have small children and would like them to have big fun on a little budget this would definitely be the place.

We take our Grankids here. They're 3,5 & 8. They love the playgrounds and the petting zoo the most. They've rode the ponies in the past. They like to go in the barn and pretend to milk a cow. Plus there's alwAys a couple of cows there to pet. Overall a fun experience. Plus very affordable at $3 on weekdays and $5 on weekends.

What a surprisingly incredible place! I went there about 25 years ago and it's like a whole new place. There's a little replica main Street, shops, and animals everywhere. Our 1.5 year old was in heaven. I was skeptical to go originally, thinking it was going to be mostly for kids, but it's interesting to see the farming and history-even for a snobby city guy like me. We much preferred feeding the large goats over the chaos of trying to feed a bottle to the baby goats. Definitely a great place to spend a day with kids. We will probably be getting the annual pass.

I take the kiddos to this at least twice every fall. It's just the cutest little farm. It's perfect for ages 1 up to teens. Has mining, pony rides, feeding chickens and baby goats, tractor rides etc. Fee is only $3 each. But does NOT include listed activities which are $3-9 each. It's in the middle of Overland Park, a very nice area. Close to dining and hotels. Definitely try this place !! 💜

Highly worth the visit. Tons of activities for little ones. Lots of educational opportunities! Hands on learning! And their pumpkin hollow they have right now is fantastic. So worth the trip!

This is hands down one of our favorite places to visit. My kids love being able to feed and interact with all of the animals. Staff is always super friendly and helpful!

What a great experience for ALL ages! This is NOT just a petting zoo! There are beautiful gardens throughout as well as walkways and paths. The flowers and landscaping alone was worth the $3 I paid. There were gigantic wind chimes ,beautiful painted butterfly houses ,waterfalls, ponds and even gorgeous vegie gardens. For children there were many opportunities to feed goats and also hand washing stations nearby. There are numerous playgrounds to fit all different age groups too. For just a few dollars more you can enjoy a wagon ride ,go fishing and even go rock mining ( which does not dissapoint). There are so many things to do here it is definitely worth the trip.

First time visiting with my family. Great place and especially for price. Toddler enjoyed animals and had other fun exhibit s as well. Only made it through half today but will be back soon to explore the other half. Also many benches and swings for elderly parents.

  • 5/5 Catherine B. 11 months ago on Google
What a wonderful afternoon! Everyone was so nice & informative. Prices are very reasonable. They have food you can buy also at a reasonable price. Feeding baby goats is $1 a bottle, the bottles aren't super full so more people can feed the goats. Fishing was $3 for a rod & worms. We got several in the bucket. We caught 2 small fish, a perch & a catfish, we also watched someone get a good sized fish. We rode the hay ride $3 a person. The horses were Belgiums and they were gorgeous. We did small mining bag $6 each and it was fun for my kids. I wouldn't do it again though. The minerals they got were pretty broken into smaller pieces & I got to carry them around the rest of the day. There is a great playground with lots of shade. Throughout the whole farmstead there are swinging benches & benches to just rest. If you stay till the end of the day they have some fun before you go with the dairy cow Godiva getting milked by machine. Lilly was very great at running the demonstration & answering question. We went back to the baby goats pin & my girls got to race with the goats. The baby goats travel through the fenced portion & the kids run alongside on the outside of the fence while the babies race to their food & bed area. We will definitely come back soon to play the day away.

We went on a Sunday morning. The price is right at just $3 a person. We spent about 3 hours but you could spend a lot more time here. There are playgrounds, clean restrooms, concessions, an ice cream parlor, and lots of animals. There are some niced shaded areas to escape the heat. But a lot of it is in the sun. You can purchase extra activities including gem mining, bottle feeding a baby goat, and fishing. Ice scream was $2 a scoop. The food was priced okay : not fresh or delicious. For $15 we had one egg salad sandwich, 3 chicken tenders, one pretzel with cheese, and one bottle water. All was pre-made and sitting in a cooler or warmer. Overall we were quite baby with the friendliness of the employees activities at the park, and the amount of activites/ attractions for $3 a person. Would recommend to those with young children.

Deanna Rose, you rock. Had a fun outing with the whole crew. Staff was friendly and willing to share info they had at various stations. With prices going up on what seems everything, it was wonderful to see the prices at $3 per person. Spent over 2 hours checking everything out. Something for everyone here. Fishing, feeling the animals, playground, snacks, ice cream, and much much more. Thanks for thr wonderful family friendly environment!

It's a cute farm, definitely good for younger kids. But then again, who doesn't like to feed a baby goat!!! Milk bottles are $1 each and fishing rods are $3, there is no more horseback riding.. There's also a playground and plenty of space for walking or running. You will be walking to each exhibit, it's not far but wear appropriate outdoor clothes you will enjoy it, I think it's a good place for everyone to try at least once

  • 5/5 Julie P. 1 year ago on Google
Hands down a great place to have a party...or go to enjoy their horse-drawn hay ride, feeding milk bottles to the little goats, fishing in their lake, and seeing all the animals! So amazing!

👍👍 Was it costly? Yes, but a specialized building, fans, amazing staff I bet isn't cheap! Was it worth it? Definitely! My girlfriend and I got “four flights” and I wouldn't recommend anything less. You are already there, enjoy some extra time. We both got the “fly high” addon, and it's a good addition...
