First time in. Sat at the bar as I was solo. Wanted to give a higher rating but for the price point the food was just average. Ordered the pork belly appetizer first and a nice glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine was great. Then ordered a 16oz KC Strip (which was really a NY strip, but that’s pretty common) with a “wedge” salad. Still waiting for the pork belly, which was fine, but a little surprised when the salad showed up first and it wasn’t a “wedge” but stalks of Romain. Tasted good and fresh with blue cheese crumbles and a nice ranch, just not what I expected. Pork belly arrived shortly after. Right away I could tell that it appeared a little undercooked. I knew it was safe, but I was also not surprised when it was a little tough. Good flavor though, but a little under seasoned. Had a strange purple sauce with it that could have been left off. Then the strip came out. Cooked to temp properly, but bare bones, not a hint of seasoning at all. Beef had good flavor but would have been elevated by a little salt. Expect to spend about a $100 per person. Sadly, I was expecting much better food. Ambiance and service kept this rating from dropping to a 2 star.

Felt welcomed right off the bat. The decor was really fun and awesome. Didn’t have reservations but they sat us fairly easily. It was a Tuesday so it wasn’t super busy. The upstairs was really fun and the wine glasses were huge! The waitress was very knowledgeable. She understood the entire menu and made suggestions. The white sangria was very delicious and fresh. The salad was served in a chilled bowl, was fresh and tasty. Steak soup was hot. The steaks were awesome. The farm to table idea is growing in popularity and it’s well worth it. The KC strip was dry aged 28 days and the filet was grass fed. The standards of medium at Anton’s are different than most of the world but at a higher end restaurant, it makes sense. They let you know and keep you informed.

Dropped in after I attempted to eat at the restaurant on the next block. The interior was cramped. There were just a few tables bit none open. I was invited to sit at the bar. The restaurant was a bit dark inside and it was quickly teeming with people. The server at the bar was personable. There were not many options on the menu in which the main ingredient was not red meat. I love red meat. However, I am trying to be more intentional about healthier food. I decided on the 🐟 of the day which was salmon. It came with 🥔 cakes and steamed vegetables. The salmon was serve with a light dill sauce drizzled over the top. It was pink, moist, and lightly seasoned.

I was disappointed. Anton's was recommended by a colleague, but it was severely overrated. Small establishment. More of a tavern than a restaurant. Most tables are high tops. Good for tall customers but becomes uncomfortable for height challenged folks like my wife. Menus were smeared with food and beer (hence that tavern feel). They charged an additional $8 for a baked potato to accompany my steak. The potato was luke warm when it arrived AND it was covered in a nacho cheese sauce; definitely not worth the $8 they charged. I ordered my steak medium rare (135°internal) but it came out very rare (~115° at best). I It was the first time in 20 years I asked a restaurant to take my steak back to the kitchen and cook it more. I tried 2 beers. Both were warm. I guess warm is ok in Germany, but I like my beer cold. I ordered a new beer when my first glass was 1/3 full. I waited >15 minutes for a new beer to arrive while the remainder of my steak got cold.

The bar was amazing! Such great staff, and the the ox tail soup was incredibly flavorful, but the grain fed ribeye was not the best. Good quality meat, but no flavor. Solid bar though!

Food on the dine in side was horrible. $50 steak that was way overcooked and similar to a dried up meat loaf. Pulled pork sandwich that was also from the Sahara. Service was poor, and we were abandoned for long periods of time. I usually do not leave bad reviews, but the price to experience and food quality left me feeling like I was robbed. If you are in the area go some place else.

Very cool looking restaurant & butcher shop. Our bartender/waiter was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with picking out our food. It was food happy hour is of course we ordered the sausage plate, Korean rib bites, and the bone marrow appetizer. I also enjoyed the steak soup. After all that food, I ended my lunch with a nice medium rare filet mignon. Come hungry and enjoy Anton’s.

Really cool place! Unassuming, compared to the more-upscale steakhouses a few blocks into downtown. The others had 45 Min waits with plenty available seats. Anton's was smaller, but homier. Butcher shop attached, the meat is sourced locally and sustainable is their mantra. And FLAVOR! Short ribs are an absolute must for under $30. Great atmosphere for a big city.

We love this place. It's in a good location in the heart of the city. Paid parking next to the restaurant but super close free street parking is available. They offer grass or grain fed beef that is locally harvested. Anton I believe owns the cattle farm as well. They also have a meat market connected to the restaurant. Higher end dining. The 'fries' are to die for. Potato logs. We got a bread and butter appetizer for 18$ blue cheese butter was amazing.3 diff breads and 3 diff butters, That app felt like it could a been priced 12 or 14 tho. Our sandwiches pictured are roast beef and brisket. Both 16$ come with slaw or fries. The slaw is amazing too. A place where reservations might be a good idea.

The restaurant is great. The tap options are fantastic and local. I got the Philly sandwich and coleslaw. The coleslaw was good and everything about the Philly was good …..except the meat. It tasted frozen or something. It was chewy and bland. Sort of a bummer for a place that beef is their focus. Loved the beer options though

Well this is my first time coming here and I have to say it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere is very cozy and not too noisy. The hospitality is great and feels genuine. They have a very large selection of alcohol so I'm sure you can find something that your taste buds will like. The food came out in timely manner, so that's a plus. I was able to share a 16oz steak with my significant other and it was more than enough to fill us up. I have to say I'm very impressed with the overall service. BTW the creme brulee is phenomenal, it's definitely a must have dessert. I was on the brink of licking the bowl clean but I had to restrain myself from doing so lol. You won't be disappointed dining here if you're ever in the downtown KC area. Our waiter Chris did an awesome job serving us as well.

I only stopped in here for lunch to get some to-go dessert since the other restaurant I had ordered lunch at did not have a lunch dessert menu. On recommendation of the waitress, I got the bread pudding with house-made vanilla ice cream. It did not disappoint. I got a large portion of bread pudding. It is the best bread pudding I have ever had. It had a sweet cinnamon-y flavor that I just devoured. It has raisins and thinly sliced apples in it that I mostly picked out, but those additions did not spoil it for me. And the house-made ice cream was probably the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had. I will definitely be back here to get another serving of this dessert, and maybe to check out the food menu next time.

Steak was a cooked to order, have selections of grain-fed or grass-fed steak. Sides were ok, nothing stupendous about them. We had bone marrow appetizer, which smelled horrible, but taste ok. Get if you want the experience, but I felt is not worth it. I tried grain-fed rib eye, which was flavorful; my partner had grass fed filet, which was more juicy/tender. Get the bone marrow butter though. Nice bar/beer selection. Everything I felt was over-priced for what you receive (possibly pandemic related). I will go back to order from their butcher shop for some good cuts of meat. This rating is about right: 4-4.2

Food and service were good. The place is alittle small. The menu seems to be a la carte and a little more on the pricey side. For what I ordered I thought the meal should of been a little cheaper when compared to other steak places I have visited. But I would still recommend checking this place out if your in the area.

had a very nice steak.. really enjoyed just the beef without the extra seasonings.. that beef bacon from next door was just incredible when I cooked it at home.... also... the beef bone marrow was OK..

We get to come here once or twice a year when we drive to Missouri to visit family and it's one of the best things we look forward to. Everything we have tried from appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks, and everything else in between is absolutely amazing! We never get good photos of the food because we dive right in as soon as it hits the table. My only complaint is we live too far away to come here more often!

Cool little Hotspot located in downtown Kansas city. We got a strawberry dream. Was absolutely delicious!! Got the beef tartar appetizer. It did not disappoint. MJ and Elijahone took care of us for the night. Both are great bartenders. They have a deli that serves delicious meats. I thought it was pretty awesome!! 5 stars all day!! ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Stopped in tonight at Anton’s, I’d never been. We ordered some Bone marrow, came with some couscous. Some kind of sweet pickled onions and it was fantastic. Short ribs were delicious too. Had a unique sauce to dip that I can’t pinpoint. I ordered the 16oz grass fed ribeye (medium rare) and my buddy got the bone in 36 ounce rib eye. Brussels sprouts to share as well as mac and cheese. Made with Gouda and very dreamy. Beer was great. Drinks were great. Will be back again.

Excellent steak, chef did a great job. David behind the bar is a great host. Great place with good atmosphere. Just a bit far to go to regularly from UK but worth a re visit next time I’m in KC

Great spot downtown KC for lunch or dinner. They have a taproom/restaurant on one side and a full-on butcher shop on the other. The menu was well done with great options for anyone. I took advantage of the 1/2 priced apps and sandwiches early bird specials on Monday until 4 pm and ordered the meatballs along with a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The food was fantastic and well priced even before the special. Great place all around.

Anton’s was nicely decorated and we loved the atmosphere. It was busy but not overly loud. Service was quick, friendly, and helpful. The Wedge salad was delicious! I could have eaten a whole portion of that alone and been happy. My wife had the grain fed KC strip medium rare, the flavor was good (in a sorta muted kinda way) and melt in your mouth. I had the grain fed boneless ribeye medium rare with marrow butter. The flavor was very good but there was a lot of gristle and every bite of the meat was chewy. My wife and I split a baked potato, it was okay. It was nice to see Chimay White on a menu! The crème brûlée dessert was very nice and a good way to finish the meal (forgot to take a picture of it.) The price was reasonable for the quality of most of the meal. Would recommend to others and eat here again my self. I would just pick a different steak next time.

Hands down the best steak I've ever had. The Carne asada loaded fries were excellent. The potato skins were like nothing I've tasted before. The smoked gouda and bacon Mac & cheese was out of this world. The burger was amazing. Joey V says if you're ever in Kansas City, "Check Them out "

Anton’s was so good. Visited here (stumbled on it really!) when in town from Vegas. Being from Vegas I’ve been to a great many steakhouses, so I’ll mention what I liked about this place that set it apart from your average. 1. Every cut offers a grass fed or grain fed option. Ask your server for a recommendation on which cut to get grass fed and which to get grain so that you’re sure of what you’re ordering. Apparently there is a big difference. I was grateful to have the option. 2. Great wine selection, and local beer selection. I had the “baby blue” red blend. It was excellent, If you like red wine definitely try a glass. 3. I did like that the steak was not over salted, and that it was not over cooked. These are problems I’ve encountered at a lot of steakhouses. They served the steaks with a side of bone marrow infused butter and this adds a smoky, savory flavor. Over a perfectly salted cut of meat, this made for one of the better steak experiences I’ve had thus far. Also worth mentioning, our bartender and server Jodie was a pleasure to meet and had so much knowledge about the place and all of the dishes, great recommendations, and convinced me to get the chocolate cake for dessert which was downright incredible. I will most certainly visit Anton’s on every return trip to Kansas City from here on out. It was a Great choice!
