An okay but not particularly memorable meal. The anatra (duck) was very tender and definitely the highlight. Otherwise, I wasn't particularly impressed by the gnocchi - it was far too chewy. I enjoyed the tiramisu but I've also had better. I could believe that this is one of the better Italian restaurants in Kansas City, but in many ways the layout made it feel like a slightly more upscale Olive Garden.

If you're wanting a romantic evening, soft lighting, great food and amazing service this is the place for you. Couldn't decide on what entrée I wanted so the waiter offered to bring me a half portion on one dish as my appetizer. Every bite was perfect. We will definitely be going back

The overall customer service experience was just above average. The whole dining experience was so rushed for this price point, but it was a Saturday night. However, the food and beverage we had were simply delicious, so I would come back. I think next time I would come on a week night. Also, I would recommend ordering off the menu versus the the trio of pasta offering. The pastas were good but you could tell they are made in batches.

This was a great experience, food and service wise. The building is beautiful. We had an 8:30 pm reservation on a holiday weekend and I’m glad we did. This place was hopping. We got seated right on time and they had a nice garden area to wait outside. Our waitress was great and others jumped in where needed as it was busy and full. We were in no rush, so we took our time ordering. We started off with the burrata. It was a perfect mix of a little spice with the tomato paste and a cooling of the burrata. It was a nice way to start. The food overall was delicious and they noted it’s all made from scratch. Their three course unlimited chef’s pasta was well worth the value. The Caesar salad was large, coated well but not soggy, and had crunchy croutons. The pastas for the evening were pretty much all of my favorite things, so it was a win there. When they served your pasta, they bring it out in pans and serve you at your table which is fun. My husband got the duck on recommendation and it was cooked beautifully. The cherry and polenta were nice touches and the asparagus was cooked well. The dessert, fantastic! It was a moist pistachio cake with roasted strawberries and a tart and sweet strawberry sorbet. I wish we lived closer, but we will definitely be back!

What can you say, it's one of Lidia's restaurants. Genuine Italian tastes with a splash of Craftsman looking ambiance. The Building has a large Industrial-type fireplace which sets the atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting and is a bargain to her Manhattan restaurant.

This spot is a highlight of our KC visit. We love watching Lidia on PBS and this restaurant was all that and more!!! Prices were extremely reasonable!!! Lidia needs to open a spot in Vegas. Food, atmosphere, and service were all top notch. Kenny, our server, has worked here seven years and that says so much about what a fabulous place this is. 💛💛💛

We had the pasta trio with salad and dessert. Tonight’s pasta included Oklahoma wild boar ravioli, which was delicious. The restaurant was beautiful and service was good.

I have long followed Lidia on public television and have some of her cookbooks. I was extremely excited to try her restaurant and one word WOW. We started with Aranaci peas rice and smoked mozzarella and the Frico. The Frico is a giant cheese crisp, with leeks and stellar Italian sausage. easy enough to share with our table of 6. melted in your mouth so good. It was topped with pickled red onions and spinach. The daily changing chefs sampler of pasta is a must get. tonight we had 3 different pastas and sauces that each one was incredible, fresh, and filling. the Ravioli pictured by itself was filled with braised wild boar and finished in a light buttery sauce. meal was served with foccia bread and 2 different spoonfuls of humus and EVO oil with fresh cracked pepper at your table. everyone was delighted at the food and wine, atmosphere was beautiful in the evening and all around spectacular experience.

My experience at lidia’s was great! I came on a busy Saturday evening and had to wait a little for next available spot so I reserved it (note to self “make a reservation next time”) Me and my wife had the pasta trio and thought it was a good variety of pastas, all very tasty. My favorite were the desserts. I practically tried all of them including the chefs trio which were my favorite as well. Overall the atmosphere is great the venue is phenomenal and we will be back to try some more options. We are happy to recommend this establishment to any of our friends and family. A big thank you to our server.

Beautiful restaurant. Wait staff was very good. The food was just warm when it arrived to our table. The duck breast was not cooked properly and my slices were sinewy, chewy, and fatty. I’d like to try it again, but I am not in a rush to do so.

Such a wonderful place! Cozy, intimate, and relaxing setting with food coming out of the kitchen reminding you of your favorite Italian grandmother! So many great selections on the menu, you'll need to come back a few times to sample them all! Outstanding waitstaff and food-runners! Our server, Annie, treated us as if we were guests in her home!

We forgot it was Friday and you needed reservations but the staff was very nice and we did not have to wait long for them to find us a table for 4. The food was pricey but good. The bread and spreads were tasty. Our server Sara was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Went early evening. Few people when we arrived but filling up as we left. Nice quiet atmosphere. Staff were all wearing masks. Pleased with our meals and service.

Made reservations for Sunday night for 2. Indicated on the reservation app,"Open Table", that it was for our anniversary. We were seated immediately at a nice, quiet corner table and our server approached within minutes. We were not told the specials for the evening. I wish we would have been because the table near us that ordered a chef's special pasta meal looked delicious. However, the food we ordered was very well prepared. We started with an appetizer trio of fried vegetables, calamari and shrimp. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked. We then had the cesear salad which was fresh and fantastic. The dressing had a hint of tang to it that made the flavor elevated. For the main course we had carbonara that was creamy and rich. We were too full for dessert, but we're surprised with a nice plate of gelato and assorted cookies with an anniversary message written in chocolate. Overall the service, food, atmosphere was very pleasant and enjoyable. A wonderful place for a quiet meal with your significant other or your friends. It's a great location, in the shadows of Union Station downtown, and there's plenty of parking. Prices for appetizers and salads ranged from $10-$17 & pasta meals ranged from $15-$40 and meals with beef, pork, chicken or seafood are more expensive. They do have a children's menu, but, personally, I would not rate this a kid friendly place. But, that's strictly my opinion.

Decent Italian food. Probably would be a 3.5 if there was a 1/2 A star. I thought drinks were better than the food. Good place to come with a big group appetizers and bread were good.

Fantastic food! My wife and I ate here last night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We each got something different and so got to try quite a few different menu options from her Moscato (delicious), to my Pinot Noir. From her Caesar salad and Eggplant Parmesan to my mixed greens salad with vinaigrette and the pasta trio. They brought out three separate sauté pans and served me right at the table! The orecchiette was served with a type of Italian sausage that had clove and allspice in it, along with broccoli rabe - very flavorful! We each got a piece of tiramisu that was creamy and delicate. Even the focaccia was served with olive oil and two types of spreads (one was a pesto, the other we’re thinking was a pine nut?). One of the best overall meals we’ve had in a restaurant. I won this dinner experience from Verizon, so while the price was right for us (free!), I can’t comment on the price of the restaurant. We also had high quality service even though our waiter knew we had a free meal with tip included - he still took good care of us. Definitely a great experience at Lidia’s!

I want to like Lidia's more than I do. It has a lot going for it, but every plus seems to come with a minus. The food in particular can be very hit and miss. I've tried several entrees and liked many of them. Most recently I opted for the three course pasta. The Caesar salad tasted great, but the lettuce was mostly spines. The pasta was good (and certainly plentiful), but it wasn't spectacular. The berry strudel was delicious, but the pastry on the bottom was so tough I couldn't cut into it. The decor is beautiful, but the place attracts some unpleasant customers. During my last visit, one of our fellow diners blocked the aisle and refused to move even after the staff member who was trying to seat us asked him politely several times. Nor was that an atypical experience. At least there are no buts about the servers. Everyone who works here is friendly and efficient.

I love Lidia's! My son brought me here for my birthday and of course it was perfect! The pasta trio is a must, and I even got a special birthday dessert! The waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable, and the mood was festive! You will never be disappointed dining at Lidia's!

My daughter wanted to go somewhere she hadn’t been for her 15th birthday and so we went as a party of 8. Three of the party ordered the all you can eat pasta trio, which was really good but they had finished their plates before anyone came back around, we had to ask waitress, which I remember last time I went they just came around more. I had the braised short rib and my daughter had the salmon, both were very good but I had just had one somewhere else that was much better so I think I am comparing to that. Our service was good but nothing spectacular, they do not split checks for bigger parties, which is a little inconvenient compared to most restaurants we go for birthday dinners but I had just got back from New York where they don’t split checks anywhere so I realize this is just a nice perk when they do. I think this place is good, as I’ve eaten here many times but I think better for a date or smaller group.

Good night out at Lidias. Busy place for sure but awesome ambience. Went with a friend and we got the octopus salad, arancini, cinghiale ravioli and gnocchi. Arancini had great flavor and the octopus was probably the best cooked I’ve ever had. Ravioli and gnocchi both tasty. You could tell the gnocchi was fresh made. Also really enjoyed my Tre super Tuscan and the bartender made up a cocktail to my friend’s desired flavor profile.

The food and service were amazing. We loved everything we got. This was our first time here, and I was expecting a pricy menu, but it was surprisingly reasonable. I gave the atmosphere 4 stars because the place did feel a bit crowded and laud, but that is to be expected on a Saturday evening.

Such a lovely vibe very nice and well put the food was delicious the appetizer was crunchy on the outside and once you bite the flavor comes in. The white wine was perfect I only had to detail the kind of wine I prefer I asked no bubble white sweet wine and the one I got was amazing. Celebrated my birthday reservation is needed. It was my little family my two kids and husband. My eleven year old got the trio which was worth it for him. My three year old I got her the usual meatball with red sauce spaghetti. She wasn’t use to the spaghetti texture cz I guess I over cook it at home so it’s soft and this spaghetti is hard. The brasato was amazinggggg the meat was soft and tasty not to salty the smashed potatoes was fluffy and not too salty the veggies were on it perfect for a one person. My husband grabbed the never ending trio, he did not like the pesto pasta trio he did enjoy the other two. My husband requested candles for my desert and our waitress when out of her place she came with the 50cent birthday song that was so funny and kind. Seating was great it didn’t feel so crowded and felt as if you’re seated alone. Grab your receipt to pay for parking lot. You can also walk around.

First time. Very cool looking place but not really “cozy” Italian kind of place. Service was attentive for our group. Bartender lacked skills, but good wine options. Food was very good but not outstanding.
