Ribs are meaty and juicy but not fatty. The baked beans are spicy sweet but not particularly smoky, and thick. Brisket was clean, not overly marbled. Mac n cheese was fantastic. The sweet BBQ sauce was runny but really good. Worth the medium line wait. Pulled pork was hot and tasty, no sauce smothered. Coke products.

One of the best barbecue experiences ever. Tried pretty much all of the meats, and the ribs were the best, but everything was amazing. The nice touch was offering you a beer once you got in the front door as you wait in line coming from outside.. where there is also a line. The patio seating seemed busy, but it moved pretty fast, so we had no problem, finding a place to sit. Highly recommended.

Booked for our wedding in April and it was the best choice! Francine was incredible and professional to work with. We had 200 guests and ordered pulled pork, chicken legs, Mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Our guests loved it so much we didn’t have any pulled pork or Mac and cheese left! I’d recommend for any catering needs!

This one was an absolute winner, redeemed KC BBQ for me after the last stop had me doubting. Got the sampler++ with burnt ends and ribs. They even let me substitute another type of sausage for the turkey it comes with, so that made it the perfect selection for my preferences. Really great value for the price on top of the food being fantastic. The spicy sauce was just right and helped really top it all off well. Both polish and jal/cheese sausage were my favorite with ribs right behind them. Burnt ends were really good but could use a bit more smoky flavor for my taste. Brisket and pulled pork were solid but the trend of lean, thin brisket in KC continues. TX BBQ aficionados just be aware, but as KC brisket goes this one was solid. It was also nice that everything was easy to pack up and take along with us, especially since I had a lot leftover! Enjoyed it and will be coming back. Thanks Slap's!

Tried ribs, burnt ends and brisket while we there. This place was voted the best BBQ in KC for family. Meats were flavorful and tender but not overdone. Excellent sauce, recommend mixing them both. Don't miss out on the beans. Another regular recommended them and they were outstanding as well!

My wife and I ate at Slap’s BBQ just after Christmas 2022. Southwest Airlines left us stranded in Memphis during their holiday meltdown and we ended up driving our rental car back to Colorado. Slap’s BBQ was, by far, the best part of the trip! I absolutely love BBQ and grew up on Memphis ribs and pulled pork! I’ve never eaten Kansas City BBQ and never saw a need to since I grew up with the Memphis stuff. Oh my gosh how I was wrong! This place was incredible! The BBQ was fantastic and the sides were equally as good. It’s been six months since I’ve eaten there and I still think about that place…it’s just that good! If you are in Kansas City and want some incredible BBQ stop by Slap’s you won’t be disappointed! It’s easy to find, just off the interstate and the parking is easy. Come hungry because you are gonna want to try everything!

This was my first time at Slap's, and it was DELICIOUS! The atmosphere is very enjoyable and laid back. The baked potatoe salad is a must try. All of the meats that I tried were juicy and flavorful. If you're in the mood for BBQ look no further..... because it SLAP'S!

Seemed like a newer place than some of the established KC BBQ spots, but amazing nonetheless. Was my first KC BBQ spot that I've ever eaten at, and it set the standard pretty high (I ended up eating at Joe's, Arthur Bryant's, and Q39 during my trip to KC). Burnt ends, ribs, and sides were all great. Get what you want, it's sure to be good.

I audibly groaned when I ate the brisket here. Whoaaaaaa. Asked the man behind the counter what they do best, Ribs, Brisket, Burnt Ends. Sides of Mac and Baked Potato Casserole. The Mac was really the only thing that I've had better elsewhere. Everything else was absolutely delicious.

Anytime my wife and I visit KC, we always try out new BBQ. Thus far, in our pursuit of finding the king of BBQ, Joe's Kansas City BBQ (previously Oklahoma Joe's) reigns #1. Slaps was recommended by a friend, so we were excited to try out a new joint... Long story short, the food was nothing special. My wife and I agreed everything was so-so, a 7/10 at best. If I could offer a 3.5/5 on Google reviews, I would. While the burnt ends came highly recommended, we found them bland and fairly tough. The ribs were lacking flavor. Their sandwich, aptly named, "The Sandwich," was smothered with cheese. Normally, this is always a plus, but because of the strong/robust flavors of the provel cheese that was used as the topper, the flavor of cheese was VERY overwhelming. The breading on their onion rings failed to hold it's crunch, post hitting the bun. The beans were drowned in their sticky, sweet BBQ sauce, which, again, took over the flavor profile. Honestly, there was nothing "wrong" with the food; we simply went in with high expectations, but were unfortunately left disappointed. Joe's Kansas City BBQ still remains supreme! 🔥

Great ribs! The brisket was very good also. They were out of burnt ends when I was there in the late afternoon. Coleslaw was enjoyable. Now, I am not a sweets person. The baked beans were good, had alot of brisket in them. But for me, just too sweet. Others may truly appreciate them.

Slap’s BBQ in KC has lines out the door! Seating is very limited especially in the winter as no one wants to freeze outside. Ambiance is pretty typical for KC BBQ single file lines no wait staff. Staff is super friendly and not like Arthur Bryant’s 🤣 IYKYK. Food was okay, ribs were gas! We had “The Sandwich” which has brisket or pork, gobs of hot melted provolone cheese and a crunchy onion ring which added a nice crunchy texture to the sandwich. Sides were okay, baked beans have nothing on Fiorella’s! Definitely must try for KC style BBQ but get the ribs!

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. I swear this was life changing KC BBQ and the cheesy corn? I've had multiple dreams about it since eating it this past Sunday. Leftovers? Incredible. This is the BEST BBQ in KC (and I've tried almost all of it). Even the bread that you get with your meal was delicious. I CANNOT wait to go again soon. The service was so fast and everyone was super friendly. The prices were right on where other places around town are charging but the portions are bigger. I went around the office Monday talking about my BBQ experience like a kid telling everyone what they got for Christmas. I'll see you soon, Slaps.

The best bbq in Kansas City! Yes for real. This hole in the wall hidden gem (though not so hidden anymore) dishes up the best bbq in the metro. The great: the ribs are freaking insanely amazing. Literally the best ribs I've had in KC. The sauces are also absolute fire and very unique. Honestly who am I kidding, everything here is awesome. Even the employees are friendly, down to earth and inviting. The bad: absolutely nothing. Give this place a try and love it forever!

Best BBQ in town, despite others being more well known. We usually arrive 20 minutes before opening to insure a spot near the front of the long line. Burnt Ends are my favorite but it's all good.

Our uber driver recommended Slaps to us while visiting Kansas City, MO. We got there before they opened a line was already forming. We were happy to wait. Once the doors opened it flowed very smoothly.. and it was definitely worth it! I highly recommend.

Slaps was definitely a slap in the face filled with sugar 🤭 Definitely not a fan of their food. Had Their -Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, Ribs and Sausages. Everything was greasy , sweet as heck and fatty. It was weird 🥴 it was hard to try and enjoy it. Tried to dip it in their house made BBQ sauce and that was too sweet as well. Lol. Spiciness was there but that's about it. Ribs were definitely disappointing. It definitely doesn't taste like it was smoked or BBQ'd. It seems like they baked it and brushed a thin layer of their BBQ Sauce. As far as sides. Had their Potato Salad, Mac and Cheese and Fries. Not sure who made their sides but all I can say is good job on the fries. 🤭

Great view from the roof top. Love the outdoor seating. This is barbecue sold by the lb. If you want to try a little of everything go with the sampler and add three ribs and burnt ends. It’s plenty for two!! The ribs literally slide off the bone. You can see it smoking around back. Not really any veggie choices. All the sides had meat added- bean with burnt ends, Mac and cheese with bacon, etc. Best side by far was the potato casserole!!

Great experience at Slaps! There was a line out the door, so we knew it’d be good. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a burnt end combo plate. Everything was delicious and our favorite was the burnt ends. We got bacon Mac and cheese and the baked potato casserole for sides. The casserole is delicious and flavored with cheese and herbs! I love Mac and cheese but I actually preferred the casserole. Counter order service which is quite efficient and plenty of shared seating available. Would definitely recommend stopping here if you’re in KC!

After several friends recommended Slaps the princess and I went there for lunch today. Easy to find. Although it was nearly 1 o'clock the small parking lot just east of the restaurant was pretty full however we did find a spot to park. No real line so we didn't have to wait long to order. The princess ordered "The sandwich" with pulled pork. We both agreed it was excellent. Served with fries, also excellent. The Tuesday special sounded interesting so I ordered the burnt ends Tacos and a side of the baked beans. Both were just average. Next time I'll try the brisket and sausage, it looks great and is probably worth the return trip.

I understand why people recommend this spot! Overall it was really good but a few things I wouldn’t order again. I had The Cattleman combo. Burnt Ends were delicious!! Brisket isn’t to my liking, great flavor but I prefer thicker cut. Sausage was good. Warm baked potato casserole was really good. Baked beans…meh. I’ll go back to try the other meats…stay tuned.

So good! The vibe here is awesome with live music, good beer selection and tons of patio space. Jalapeño sausage is a must and the burnt ends are cooked perfectly but as others have mentioned not glazed. Sauces are pretty generic but flavor is on point. Sides potato casserole is awesome and Beans are insanely sweet but tasty. Overall it was great and I’d recommend to anyone!

one of the best BBQ options in KC! the lunch line was not too long, and we had an awesome meal! got the sampler platter, added ribs + burnt ends, and received great service & a good price as well! ate more than enough & left with a little bit to go grateful! praise God!

May not be a popular opinion here knowing that this is a hot spot for BBQ in KC. Would have to say that it was just ok. The sides were alright, the BBQ sauces were ok. Had better BBQ in KC. It can get really bust depending on what time you go. The food comes out really quick after ordering and paying for your selections. Worth going to at least once if never been.
