I love love the Songbird Cafe. They offer healthy, vegan, paleo friendly, and gluten free delicious food. I ordered the Hemp Salad for $10 and the Turkey Pesto with fresh avocado on gluten free bread. I usually add a cup of tomato soup, as well because it pairs well with the Turkey Pesto. I finished off my meal with a Exodus Cream smoothie, which included dates, strawberries, coconut Milk, organic raw cacao, and fresh ground peanut butter, during Happy Hour for $5. Happy Hour is from 3-5 and included reduced rates for juices and smoothies. Yum Yum!

Ok. Kansas City. You are so blessed. This Cafe is so exceptional. I wish Atlanta had one! On business trips it can be difficult to find a place for me to eat because of my food restrictions due to allergies, so I was so happy to find a place with vegan, organic, gluten-free options. I was not disappointed. From the moment I walked through the door Chris was there to help me pick out just the right meal (pics attached). I got a turkey pesto panini - no egg, no dairy, no gluten, but TONS OF FLAVOR. WOW. I have to say my Forerunner smoothie was by far one of the best things I've tasted in months. I was in bliss. If you are vegan, sensitive to dairy or anything similar, do not hesitate to get here. You won't be disappointed.

Great place! These folks are doing it right. They scratch make most of their items including their sauces. I had an Albacore tuna melt on multi grain bread, they also have gluten free bread. The tuna wasn't over dressed, it had a great fresh flavor. If you're in the area for lunch or dinner please stop by and support this family owned business. I stopped by on a Thursday at 5:30 and I was the only one there. Hopefully this place catches on because I want it to stay open.

Cozy little place to eat. I got the cranberry turkey sandwich, substituted provolone cheese for the brie cheese. Omg, the cranberry sauce they used was pure deliciousness. It was packed with flavor. Best part of the sandwich. I was it would have had a little more turkey for the $6 or $8 I paid for it. I also got a smoothie with my meal. It was tasty. I didn't taste much of the pineapple, however it was still great. Would definitely order both again. I also tried the peanut butter protein ball and cocoa (sp) balls. They were lacking flavor and threw away the bag. I will not buy again. However, their Himalayan macaron was delicious. Packed with coconut flavor. Wish I had spent my money on more of those.

This is a really nice local eating place in a more downtownish Kansas City location, which lives up to it's name, hosting frequent live music. Prices are reasonable, food is good, and opportunity to catch live music.. makes for a great combo!

I always leave here feeling refreshed and knowing that everything I ate will actually nourish me, even though it tastes good. Their desserts are amazing especially the ganache and the vegan key lime pie 😍. The owners are a lovely couple and the location is great for chilling out near downtown. Step inside and forget the hustle and bustle for a little while. The smoothies are also really good.

This is one of the best vegan/vegetarian places I have ever visited. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating; the food was inexpensive, creative, and delicious. If you get a milkshake, it'll be the best vegan shake of your life! :) I will definitely go again the next time I am in KC.

Prices are reasonable, food is good, and opportunity to catch live music.. makes for a great combo! I had a salad and a cup of tomato bisque. Both were good and the soup was fresh. They seem to have a nice selection of sandwiches, smoothies, drinks and deserts.

We ordered a salad, a smoothie, a peanut butter and honey sandwich, and a tuna sandwich. We could tell the ingredients were very fresh; it was all very tasty and quite affordable. Natural delicious food and smoothies. The staff were friendly and attentive and the decor was fun and cute. We'll be back next time we're in Kansas City.
