I had ordered a half-pan of peach cobbler for a birthday celebration. I drove 1 hour round trip. Was told it feeds 10 and to pick it up the same day so it wouldn't be soggy. It was AWFUL! The whole thing was a soggy mess and barely fed 6. (see the pics) It was nothing more than 1 can of peaches with heavy syrup and pie crust cut into strips and layered on top. I was so embarrassed at the party. Buyer beware!

This place just isn't the same. It's not as a result of Covid, it's the lack of availability of simple items like straws and salt and the smaller portion sizes and higher pricing for considerably less quantities of food and drinks & desserts are an upcharge and there are no 2nds of that crispy fried chicken. 1 meat =1 piece. We probably won't return based on the new business model. We did like that servers were there to plate the food but the quantity for the price plus an additional $2 on Sundays is a nonstarter for us. $5 for a couple of tablespoons of cobbler is highway robbery. Why raise prices and give patrons less food? We noticed. The containers for the side dishes reminded us of a grade school cafeteria condiment cup; The size we used to put ketchup in to dip our fries. It was not worth the drive nor the money. Plan on spending $25 minimum per person. We sure hate that because this used to be our go-to after Church but nope. The tradition is over. Good luck.

That 1 star is forced…I wish I could give a negative star review. I’m could not wait to get home and make this review and I don’t normally do reviews. The staff was beyond rude and arguing amongst themselves, the cabbage was old and had a burnt taste, cornbread muffins were mush, I couldn’t cut them open to put butter in them. No to go cups, catfish was suppose to take 7 mins but I didn’t get my food for 20 mins. The party I was with was finished before I even got started. Seems the staff had friends/family hanging around, laughing at our terrible experience. The cook was fussy shouting “don’t take no more orders” the host walked around twice, informing very blatant & clear “we close at 7” no regard for customers or the ridiculously terrible experience. The people of KC MO should seriously STOP recommending this spot. Will never be back! No thanks fam!! Never again!

Can’t go here anymore. Girl in the front has the worse attitude. She had baby hair and thick king fake eyelashes. Older man serving the food kept stopping to talk to another worker who wasn’t on the clock. Then he gave half of a spoon for every side. Chicken was dry. I waited for Mac & choose. It came out and I was already at the register to pay. So they added it to my plate. Got to the car, it looked nasty and watery. I tried it, I didn’t like it. So I went back and asked to replace it. The young woman at the register had a horrible attitude. Told me “it just came out, it needs to settle” ma’am I’m going to eat this now, I would rather have another side. She rolled her eyes, and shook her head with an attitude and threw the Mac and cheese away. She was extremely rude. Corn break tasted different. I tried giving ya another chance but it’s a no from now on. This place used to be the best. Idk if it’s the cooks, or front staff. Need to make changes

Unfortunately, I have to give this restaurant 2 stars instead of 5. While food was delicious, the customer service was TRASH. The young lady at the register attitude was piss poor. I suggest additional customer service training.. The moment my co-workers and I entered the establishment, she was rude. Anyways, I’m from the south (Atlanta) and was craving some soul food. I had the veggie slim plate (collard greens, mac-n-cheese, yams & cornbread). FIVE stars to the food, but I’m indecisive about returning. Hopes this helps!

Terrible service. I waited 45 minutes in line to be told they were only working on catering orders in the back and they were not making food for the line. The employees stated I either had to wait until they made more food or leave. He then stated this to everyone entering the establishment. Worst experience I have ever had. The owner yell and told me either “act right or leave” followed by a lot of other outlandish remarks when asked about a wait time. I was a frequent customer until today. I do not recommend.

Always sort reviews by newest first. The pandemic has done wild things to restaurants. Peach Cafeteria kinda sucks. Sorry, no one wanted a delicious and cultured soul food experience more than I did. I would have settled for not bad. Nothing stinks more than a business that going through the motions and this place comes close. The place is shut down for table seating, there’s no indication of that on the website or on the outside of the building. You go in and there’s four very sorry unlit steamtables with baked chicken fried, chicken baked, “barbecued” ribs, baked fish. Paper thin fish, Tiny chicken drumsticks, ribs cooked so long in full strength barbecue sauce that it’s falling off the bone. Stale fried okra, out of the box smooth mashed potatoes…. The stuff is not exactly appetizing. It’s edible, it’s not bad. The experience is awful we stood there for at least 20 minutes because it took the girls serving sides literally 20 minutes to serve up two sides for four diners ahead of us. It’s all swapped into a sorry phone box and you need to get out. If the food were fantastic it would be worth it but it’s just a level below what’s available at a hospital cafeteria. It would help if the people were friendly and enthusiastic but they are just going through the motions.

Used to be good before covid as a buffet. Now it's a cafeteria and the food is not as good. Drove there after checking the open hours and it was closed. Main problem for me is the incredibly rude little man that works the food line. Always rude every time I see him. I usually say how are you today but never get a reply. He mumbles under his breath and I notice he always screws me on portions while he gives black customers 2x as much and is nice to them . Last time a black lady came thru in front of me and ordered and it looked good so I said I'll have exactly what she had. She got meatloaf and 2 breasts of chicken with mash potatoes and mac n cheese. He gave me half the size meatloaf 'watched him cut it in half' and 2 tiny wings that he searched for. I said I'll have a breast instead of that wing. He mubled at me and ignored me and I got the 2 wings and no breast. On what planet do u get away with this . he treats the black customers much better than the white even though iv been eating here 20 years and you should get treated by how u treat people not what color you are. Peachtree used to be a busy upbeat buffet. Now it's empty home for little rude guy. I screenshot this pic from another reviewer but this is him.

The people preparing the food acted like they did not want to be there. They had to drop more fish, meanwhile my chicken sat in the container getting cold. By time I received my fish that was cold as well. Loved the food…even cold. But the staff could get a refresher on customer service

This was southern cafeteria style and because we went on Sunday they charged an extra $2 per plate. When asked why the up charge They figured it was because it was busier. It took 35min to get through the line to choose your food. I got the smothered pork chops cornbread dressing green beans and carrots with peach cobbler my daughter got fried chicken mashed potatoes and gravy and Mac and cheese. You could tell everything was homemade it was delicious great flavoring. The only downside was by the time you got your tray @10 min your food was cold. The standouts to us were the Mac and cheese was phenomenal and the cornbread dressing was awesome. It did cost $2 for drinks and they do not have to go cups. So the total cost for lunch was $37 for 2 people. That's a little steep for the average family. Good eats but I could not afford to come here often.

I’ve been twice!! AMAZING!! I read the reviews and those people are nuts! Both times I’ve been the staff have been very helpful, patient and interactive with you. You ask for a leg the guy says since when did chicken have legs? I mean they technically do have legs but what you order is a drumstick! Anyways I love this place, the food is always fresh and the staff is great!

Definitely did not meet expectations. The food was cold, the rolls were hard and I’m not sure how you screw up making lemonade but it was absolutely gross. The sides that we chose were over cooked and not good at all. This place needs to step their game up especially for the prices they charge for their food. First and last time ever going here.

Traveled down from Omaha and did not know they had closed the buffet. It does not state this information on there website so we were a little disappointed ☹️. You also have to pay for refills.. I guess. My hubby drank his lemonade before he finished his meal and wasn't even offered water. But the food was alright so try it if you get a chance.

We got there late in the evening but they still had some options. The cafeteria line was very slow and it looked like you could only take out but we were given the option to eat in. JoJo was great, he took good care of us, making sure we had everything we needed. The food was tasty, the greens too sweet for my taste. Peach cobbler was good, but was really sweet too. Mac and cheese was awesome, chicken and fried fish were good.

The BEST chicken in town. I am very picky about my chicken, I don't like "wet" chicken like kfc and churches. Peachtree's chicken is flavorful, crispy and cooked perfectly. I also enjoy their greens and mac & cheese. Bomb peach cobbler as well. My daughter loves their fish. You get a decent amount too. Love this place! 🍲

Did not meet expectations. Google has the wrong menu. The cafe apparently no longer exists and is just the cafeteria which has a very different menu and appeal. Stayed to try the food because I was hungry but left severely disappointed. The atmosphere was dark and cavernous. The staff wasn't unfriendly but that's as nice as I can put it. The food was meh but no better than golden coral and probably more expensive.

Tl;Dr terrible service, restaurant refused to complete order. Delivery driver here, only time I'm ever going out of my way to leave a review. Service was exceptionally poor, the person who gave me my order didn't say a word to me, mostly just made an annoyed glare in my direction before placing the order on the counter. My customer ordered a dish which allowed them to pick side dishes, but the restaurant didn't include any of the sides. When I asked why they didn't include the sides, I was told they wouldn't include them because the dish doesn't come with sides. If your menu allows customers to pick sides for their dish, then yes, the dish comes with sides. If it's not supposed to come with sides, then it's your responsibility to fix that, it's not the customer's responsibility to deal with your mistake. I ended up calling support and they cancelled the order because I couldn't deliver an incomplete order, but that left me with the food and nowhere to take it. All that to say the food was below average at best.

We visited from Omaha and have been there before we called ahead and asked if dine in was available they said yes , however we went and we waited in line for 25 mins to order and half way thru they put a sign out saying due to staff shortages no dine in was available. Even though they sat some customers they seemed to know. When we got to to the register we explained we were told that we could dine in and that we were already in line. The cashier never looked up at us and acted snarky. To be honest the food wasn't that good it was cool tasting food that could be cooked at home anyway. Definitely wasn't a wow factor. We asked about some salt packets they only had pepper. There's was also a lady complaining about her food not being cooked right. Smh I don't think I'll ever go back it was too much trouble for nothing. If we wanted to eat in the car we would've grabbed a burger. Just a typical spot ran by young people on the phone. On a scale from 1 to 10 it was about a 4 if not a late 3. Customer service is everything, that whole waiting in line thing isn't it.

The food was really good. If you go make sure you try the sweet potato cornbread. Service is really slow. And the girl had an attitude one of them did had a really bad attitude the whole time. I believe they may have been short-staffed. When I go again yes definitely.

I had a birthday party for my husband and had Peach Tree cater. From the delivery to the taste of the food. Awesome. My food was delivered on time and very professional. The food was sooooo good. I had fried chicken, Mac and cheese, mash potatoes and gravy and green bean with carrots. All my guess love the food. Thank you Peach Tree for helping make my husbands party extra special.

I have been to both locations but I went to this location because Darius Cooks went here recently. Outside, the parking lot is well organized I love the space I think they need a better ramp for people in wheelchairs. Inside, I didn't necessarily enjoy the dim lighting. We arrived around 5:00 that evening. You would think it was intended to be a romantic restaurant, clearly that's not the case. Sundays, on the chalkboard it says Chicken and Waffles are available we tried to order that it wasn't available. ? I immediately thought here we go with the nonsense. Basically you were only able to get what was on the buffet. So let's talk about what we ordered. Five wings and mashed potatoes and corn with lemonade. The wings were made nothing to write home about. The mashed potatoes and corn.. so delicious!! I ordered the smothered fried pork chop with a chicken breast roasted with greens and macaroni and cheese with a roll and lemonade. The smothered pork chop was so delicious. The chicken breast was seasoned with their Peach Tree seasoning and it was too salty. The greens were salty, bitter, and flavorless. The macaroni and cheese was watery and you can taste the flour or a starch of some sort in the liquid. It was not good. Then we got a red velvet cake, not going to hold you it was fire! I really enjoyed how moist it was and the cream cheese frosting which was heavy on the cream cheese and not so much on the sweetness. I really enjoyed that and gave it a distinct flavor that I haven't had from other places. Would I go back? Maybe.

The food is good here, but it should not take an hour to make to go plates and get people out of the line. We were in the line for a hour they should know on Sunday's to have more than enough food ready.and more workers are needed.
