Probably my favorite restaurant EVER. I come here whenever possible - especially for their spicy chili pepper wontons 🥟🤤😍 We had the most delicious feast here recently. Highlights included - spicy chicken buns (a special), fire bird chicken (🌶️), and any dumplings. We also got the iced lychee and mango drinks!😋🧋 Cannot say enough great things about this restaurant, their quality of food, their service, and how fast the food comes out for how busy they are. Definitely make reservations for a weekend night. Will be coming here for years to come and taking all my friends! 🤩

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Words do not do justice! Trust me when I say it is worth eating there!

We love the cocktails here, the bourbon matcha is quite good. The special tonight was dumplings with kimchi soup. The soup did not have the depth off a real broth. Good amount of dumplings and noodles, but it was missing a dipping sauce. Chili oil with soy sauce would have been great but without a sauce, it was not as tasty because the dumplings were bare in the light broth. Asian dumplings or wontons always served with a sauce, even in a soup.

I went to Blue Koi a couple weekends back and it is a decent restaurant. Location is near Top Golf. Came on a Tuesday as we waited for the bay to be ready. Wontons were decently filled with a nice wrapper. I felt the noodles were a little over cooked and soggy but still tasted good. Plenty of portions for the $$ we are paying. I recommend adding some spice as it needed just that extra layer of flavor. If not, it tastes like a lot of starch. My friend had the ants on a tree (not pictured). That was really good. The noodles, the flavor, all of it was well balanced. I’d recommend the ants on a tree over the wonton noodles if you are looking for a noodle dish but not exactly sure what.

I loved this dumpling house. The spicy chili dumplings were not spicy but had more of a capsaicin heat to them. The sauce they sat in I also dumped onto my main beef noodle dish to give it some extra spice. The amount of food here for the price is a perfect balance as I could have left full just after the dumplings.

First time visiting this location. Other times was at their old location on 39th. This place is just as good as I remember the old one. I went there with one other person. We ordered one set of dumplings and a noodle dish, which we wanted split. They split it across two bowls with no extra charge. These things together were more than enough for two of us. The dumplings were big, juicy, and well seasoned. Wonderful. The noodles were delicious, stretchy, a little chewy. Far as I know they still make their dumplings and noodles in house. Their attention to detail shows through with every bite. Highly recommend.

Nice place for a semi-upscale East Asian cuisine that's still casual enough to bring the kids. Great noodles and dumplings, fun cocktails, top-notch service. The staff were really kind and personable, and they checked on our group regularly. The menu is modest in size but diverse in its offerings. Portions were generous enough that most of us boxed leftovers. We enjoyed a nice family meal in the main dining room, and I would love to come back for lunch or dinner on the patio.

What can I say... I love, love, LOOOOOVE Blue Koi. This was my first time visiting the Overland Park location because the Kansas City one was closed. The lovely hostess recommended the Taro bubble tea and it was amazing! I will definitely be back in again... for dinner next time.

This place is amazing We sat with a 7 top of all family so I was able to at least get one bite of multiple dishes. My choice was the seafood soup that had squid, scallop and shrimp with an amazing broth. I added a healthy dose of Siracha to give it the kick I love. I also tasted the wan tan soup, chicken dumplings and CHEESECAKE WAN TANS! Thanks for a great experience to our waiter who I totally failed on remembering his name. If it helps, he was a 6-4 235lbs guy that looked like his second job could be standing right next to Mahomes at the Chiefs stadium.

The noddles were so fresh and good , the dumplings were really tasty and the best part was the chili oil. Blue Koi is my favorite spot for dumplings, and they’re great at several other dishes as well. I miss the 39th Street location, but the one in Mission Farms isn’t bad at all. I typically order dumplings (usually either pork or shrimp) and a China Moon. I also enjoy the Scallion Biscuit and the Crispy Tofu with Awesome Sauce. Though they do a good job with entrees, I prefer to make a meal out of appetizers. The bubble tea is also good. Lychee is somewhat rare in the KC market, and it’s a personal favorite. The staff can get over-extended during rushes, though the servers are always polite and helpful. Noise levels can also get a bit high when the restaurant is crowded. But on an off hour, it’s an excellent dine-in experience. Some of the art on the walls is by local artists, and the last time I was in they had some strange stuff on display. But generally the decor is good.

Our server gave us helpful suggestions regarding possible choices from the menu. My friends and I started with chicken dumplings. They were perfectly pan-fried and delicious! My entree was almond asparagus chicken with white rice. It was delicately flavored with bite-sized pieces of asparagus and a good amount of chicken. I had the jasmine tea for refreshment. The cheesecake wonton with mango and cranberry sauce is the sole offering for desert. You won't want to miss it! The atmosphere was casual yet upscale. Our overall dining experience was fabulous and one of the best I have had in quite a long time!

Food was good, service was great. Tad bit overpriced place. Among all the dishes we ordered we loved the crispy spicy tofu.

I had a great experience at Blue Koi! They have friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. There are more vegetarian options available than I've seen in many other Asian Cuisine resturants. I highly recommend their tofu appetizer with "awesome sauce". I got vegetarian dumplings that also paired well with the appetizer sauce. Their noodles were homemade and well balanced. Their mango boba tea was also a highlight! The bobas are chewy and dont pop immediately.

Nice place and very friendly service. My wife and I enjoyed the food and love the recommendation. We got the Cantonese style roast duck appetizer and Crispy tofu with spicy awesome sauce as starters, which we love as sautéed. Then got the shrimp, pork, and chicken dumplings. My wife got the Chinese style pot roast and I had the braised pork with shiitake mushrooms. The boba tea was good too.

Amazing long time KC gem. Delightful vegan and vegetarian options. Dumplings are so good and the vegan delight is my personal favorite dish. Also can't go wrong with the bubble tea. Outdoor seating area as well.

Let me tell you that this is a restaurant to add to your regular routine. In house home made noodles and dumplings you can literally taste the years of dedication and love to this craft. Make sure to always order dumplings (pan fried) And to try out the black bean chicken with the noodles. You can not got wrong with those two staples.

So yummy! I ordered the ants on a tree vegan style and loved it. The flavor was great and the portion was good for the price. The restaurant itself was very clean and had good ambiance. I ate inside with some coworkers and felt super safe. The staff wore mask and were very friendly. 10 out of 10 would recommend

I love it here. the place is clean and me and my boyfriend love all the authentic food choices. server was so nice! and they give you so much food for the price. i wish there was more boba in my strawberry boba and the “chicken” in the dumplings tasted a big clump of baloney meat rather than chicken, but other than that it’s so good!!! i’d come back to try different foods.

I haven't eaten here in a while and was in the neighborhood. I'm glad I stopped in. Food was top notch and not your typical Chinese food. A ton of vegetarian options. I had the Fire Bird with Tofu. Great flavor and spicy enough but not too much. The staff were all very friendly and professional, and especially attentive to water and seeing how we were doing. If you're looking for an authentic Chinese experience, i would highly recommend Blue Koi.

First time to be in this restaurant. The braised organic tofu is really tasty. I paired it with noodles. The noodles are the thick noodles but had I known earlier that I have the choice of the other noodle types it would be better with the thinner noodles. The soup in the Wanton soup is really good almost perfect, not salty nor bland but just the right amount of condiments. Again, for me, it is better with the thinner noodles not with the thick ones as the wantons already have thick wrappings. Serving is quite big almost good for two people. Definitely going back to try the other dishes.👌👍

Love their fried tofu and chicken dumplings. No matter which main dish I get, I always order as a noodle soup. Chinese pot roast is one of my favorites. Remember to order some hot tea!

It's been some years since I last visited, so when I came back recently I was happy to see that the food still tasted super great. I think it's all worth the price and I don't really know any other place that has good dumplings like Blue Koi does.

My husband and I have been ordering their chilli pepper wontons for years and it's perfection each time but their ginger basil chicken was extremely unimpressive and failed to deliver today. It had chunks of chicken that tasted bland and was almost in shreds when we mixed it with noodles. I requested that the noodles be packed in a separate box and they obliged but the ginger flavored sauce was just okay and the chicken lacked flavor. Also, the noodles were a little doughy. On the to-go note, the food is packed very well and delivered curb side everytime we place an order. Everyone is courteous and extremely sweet. We will continue to order from them but will stick to the wontons.
