Great food, good service, and nice atmosphere. The atmosphere is a delicate balance between a casual pub feel and a nice steakhouse. The front side has high-tops and bar seating, and the back has booths and tables. The prices are very reasonable and are in my experience a good value for the quality. This is one of the few places I've ordered a steak rare, and it came out actually as ordered. The wedge salad is excellent. The pork chop is decent but not my favorite. The burger is good. Sweet potato fries are very good. Great place for a date, a business lunch, or a family dinner.

Very delicious brunch! Enjoyed a round of mimosas, coffee and healthier breakfast options after playing some early tennis. We chose to sit outside, so unfortunately we had flies annoying us but otherwise the patio option was beautiful. Decided to eat here as they were the only one open on Sunday at 10am in the Village. Price was reasonable as well and looking forward to another visit soon.

Great atmosphere, strong drinks and amazing food. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer, they were rather regular but still good! I tried the pear steak salad it was great, however I wish there was more quinoa to the mix. 6.5/10. Husband had the mahi with grits and it was full of flavor, so rich and so creamy! 9/10. To drink we tried an assortment of cocktails, my favorite being the cucumber cocktail and the strawberry basil. Tried the Cajun Brussel sprouts they were spicy and the portion was plenty. Overall loved this place! cannot wait to come back and try more!

Really enjoyed eating at Tavern in the Village. Had the wedge salad (pictured), chicken primavera, and my party split the chocolate cake. It was such a great meal and we received terrific service!

Don't dine here if you're alone. The Hostess sat me and said "Sam" would be right with me. "Sam" never showed up. After a LONG time, the hostess walked by and noticed that nobody had shown up to take the food order, so she ended up taking my order herself. The food (crab cake BLT) was cold and the bacon half-raw. When I was done, nobody brought me a check, but the dirty dishes kept me company. After waiting a long time, I finally gave up and had to walk up to the hostess stand to ask to pay my bill. Never going back. Ever.

What a great little place. I love the tavern feel, both the drinks and food were excellent. It was a little crowded when we got there so we waited by the bar and grabbed a table when one opened up. Definitely worth the wait as we enjoyed everything.

The food was pricey but delicious! They do not have a lunch menu here or any specials at all. We got the bruschetta to start which was $12 I believe. It was soooo delicious but it comes in 3 on baguettes. My dad got the lobster mac for $29 and thought it was good but nothing special. We got a huge portion of sweet potato fries for $4 as a side. I ordered the halfchicken dinner for $24. The green beans were incredible. Came with whipped mashed potatoes and half chicken. It was delicious and a good amount of food. I also added a side salad for $4 and was impressed with how large it was. I got the tavern salad. Overall i thought the menu had a great selection and the food was very good. Only complaint is with the prices and the fact that there are no lunch specials or happy hour.

Rich and flavorful! A small group of us gathered here for a lunch meeting during KC Restaurant Week, and the staff and space were quite accommodating. Opted to box some leftover stew to save room for an indulgent seasonal dessert, which was quite a treat.

This was a great place for us to go for our anniversary. Staff was great. I had the steak and my wife had the Ruben. Both were perfect.

Ordered the 🦞Lobster Ravioli, buffalo chicken wrap , chicken sandwich, 🦀 crab cake , chicken primavera, Caesar salad , strawberry basil smash + blueberry rosemary lemonade cocktails ( I made them mock tails ) and tavern beignets for dessert . The lobster Ravioli was exquisite all 3 times I’ve consumed it , this was My favorite dish they make , perfect balance of flavors with the ravioli noodles al dente topped with caviar ! The chicken wrap & chicken sandwich was decent . Crab cake had a little bit too much mayo for my liking but it was still good. The chicken primavera was light , healthy, flavorful and very refreshing . My cocktails that I ordered as mocktails where just okay , the flavors weren’t very well balanced without the alcohol . Maybe adding a bit more adventurous non alcoholic drinks to the menu would be cool . Our tavern beignets where DELIGHTFUL!! The amount you get is enough for two people but we loved them so much we had to ordered another round . Also the staff was very accommodating. We hosted an event here for 14+ people , booking with them the night before and they took great care of us !! Our waitress even took our group photo 😁

Tavern in the Village is a great place for a happy hour, lunch and/or dinner. After being here quite a few times I think this is becoming a regular favorite of mine. The tomato soup is some of the best I’ve ever had and their appetizers are all delicious. Definitely check out their grilled cheese and tomato soup, the chicken sandwich or the calamari. Tavern in the Village is highly recommended.

Tavern in the Village is an incredible spot for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Tavern offers great service and a warm and lively atmosphere. The food is fabulous and very diverse. The Tavern Burger was super delicious, as was the steamed asparagus and fries. The hostess was quick and polite when we came with our reservation, and our server was also fast and attentive to our needs. Overall, my experience was great, and I will be returning. Thank you, staff!

I had the garden lasagna and the strawberry basil smash drink. Both were really good and will order again. The only con is where we were sitting. We were sitting across from the door, so every time the door opened, we got a burst of cold air. They have a fireplace towards the front, but it didn't really help much, in my opinion. If you go when it's cold out, ask to sit towards the back of the restaurant.

Great service and awesome food. This was my first time here and we will be back for sure! I had the Tavern Huevos Rancheros. Muy Bueno! Our server Maggie J took awesome care of us as we tried to run the restaurant out of coffee ☕️

This place is great, but hope this “public” suggestion encourages action, where private ones have not seemed to work. In short, great food, usually good service and atmosphere. But please, for the love of sanitary conditions, get the busted sink in the restroom replaced! We’re closing in on a year now? Maybe longer? Nothing worse than an unnecessary line in the restroom waiting on one person at a time to wash their hands. Or, watching fellow customers choose not to wait, and not wash their hands! Sole reason for the review. Please replace the sink. Use a plumber…not a plant…please.

We accidentally found this place as we were running errands. We were very impressed. We ate outside on the patio. Our server was fantastic. I had the salmon and garlic mashed potatoes with an awesome side of fresh delicious spinach. My son had the quinoa steak bowl. Both of our dishes was amazing. We had bread pudding with vanilla ice cream to finish out the evening. Excellent food. I am looking forward to have dinner there again. Excellent place. Highly recommended.

The server we had was super awesome. Beyond great customer service especially given how busy it was. I would go back just because of him. I believe his name was (or this could have been his middle name, as he was explaining it) Wesley or something along those lines, but exceptional nonetheless.

Lovely atmosphere, very attentive staff! As a vegetarian, I've had too many mediocre meatless meals when dining out. NOT the case at Tavern! Their roasted white bean entre with root vegetables is outstanding! Flavors on top of flavors. Like comfort food on steroids. One of the best meatless meals I've enjoyed in KC! (She says as she enjoys the leftovers for lunch the next day!)

Nice atmosphere. Nice wait staff. Food is attractively served. Unfortunately our food lacked any kind of seasoning. Very bland. Expected better at this price.

Great spot. Good food and good service. Tried the avacado toast, the blueberry pancakes and b&g. All good. Blueberry pancakes with lemon compote, especially good.

We hadn't been in a while and enjoyed the new booths. I guess the staffing shortages are affecting The Tavern too because our waiter rarely came by once we got our food to ask how it was and if we needed more drinks, utensils, or anything more. I would have loved a steak knife to cut my porkchop and another beer. But he never came and the porkchop was delicious with the beets and cream sauce but it took forever to cut with their knife. I think we get less calamari every time we order the appetizer and that is disappointing. The new Mediterranean meatballs are made with beef not lamb but very good. The trout was overcooked like it was salmon. We always have a pleasant time but I was very surprised to hear Backstreet Boys and Outkast blasting out the speakers in the bathroom and outside. The lack of help from the service and pop music brought the level of sophistication and class down a level. Mood lighting can only do so much.

They charge you quite a bit for very small portion sizes especially for the appetizers, and my server was less then exceptional and seemed to constantly forget we were even there. The food however did taste great and you could tell it was made of high quality ingredients, would probably go again and hope I got better service.

This is our 3rd visit. Always great food. I had the salmon Benedict. Benedict was great, potatoes a bit over cooked. Unlike them from other visits. Mom had the lox toast.

Awesome place—— I have been coming here for years. I am single and feel very welcome. They have great service and great food. I have made some long time friends there. It’s a great neighborhood spot!

Just had a really great lunch experience. I did go in early (11:30) and was seated immediately. The atmosphere is really nice. I was immediately greeted by the server who took my drink order. I ordered the fish tacos. I was served two, really good fish tacos, a slaw, and a bowl of black beans. Everything tasted great. The fish tacos and slaw were excellent. The beans were about as good as you can make black beans. (I'm not a huge fan but it's not their fault - I knew what I was getting). A little pricey - but consider the atmosphere and the area you're in and it's fine/expected. I'll be back.

First time here. Good service! The food was very pretty but taste was underwhelming. All of our poached eggs (6) were a little over cooked and plate was mostly potatoes-good potatoes though. Overall not bad, will come again and try new things.

Great menu went for brunch but ordered off the reg menu. Super waitress if I knew her name would mention here, but almost always pleased with the personalities and service. Was busy, sat at a bar-table was nice with windows, no loud music.

Got the soup(chicken tortilla) and wedge salad..to go. The very small “cup” of cheese and maybe two soggy tortilla strips was comical. The wedge salad wasn’t close to equivalent to a wedge. If this would have been served at the restaurant we would have sent it back. The soup was okay but this meal was not acceptable on any level

It’s okay to good, but the food didn’t live up to expectations for this level of restaurant. Went for brunch. Had a standard bloody mary (not the fancier variety offered on the brunch menu) that wasn’t seasoned well, was like just v8 and vodka. Had the crab cake benedict and the hollandaise needed more lemon juice and the type of crab used was quite sweet so didn’t work as nicely for this dish. The potatoes were really good, though. Tavern isn’t completely off my list, I’ll go back and try different things next time.
