Drs [ other than my own ] are rude and very unprofessional. I understand they are plagued by Government 'practicing medicine', but it puts patients like myself, truly in pain at risk to the point that there is no longer a Dr/Patient Relationship. I chose to wean myself off the medications myself and let them know that I would not be returning & I did not need any narcotic prescriptions on my last visit as I still had 1/2 my prescription from the prior month. Also advised them I preferred to go see a Primary Care Dr and to be referred for appropriate care - Not in Pain Mgmt. This prompted even further unprofessional behavior because I fired them from my care. I told them I did not appreciate being treated so poorly & and that was the reason I chose to wean myself after the previous months appt. I'm not waiting to be cut off because of the Govt crackdown. I made my own choice to stop taking meds. I have waited many times over 4 hrs to be seen for 5 or 10 minutes. Unfortunately - those of us in chronic pain are paying the price of Drs so scared to prescribe to legitimate pain patients. My personal choice to stop pain meds was noted as 'non compliance'. This is a valid, factual & honest review but remains to be seen if it will actually 'post's given the state of the ridiculousness of the opioid crackdown on legitimate pain.

My mother-in-law had an outpatient procedure at this facility. First off, we arrived at 6am. Staff members were walking in, talking about a work-related situation. Obviously a staff member was scolded by someone in management or a superior of some sort. Well, I didn't care to hear about that. My mother-in-law was supposed to have surgery at 7am. I was told that I would be allowed to come back after they prepared her for the procedure, just prior to surgery. I checked in at 7:30 to see if they were ready for me to come back, I was told no. I checked back at 8:00, I was told the procedure was over and she was in recovery. I didn't get an opportunity to pray for my mom, to ask the doctor questions or to gain an understanding on exactly what was going to be done. I was told that she'd be in recovery for about another 30 minutes and she would be ready to go home. Well, I'm writing this message an hour later, at this moment no one has updated me. As I'm sitting in the waiting area, I'm listening to the way they are speaking to other patients, and it's quite rude. People who may have Medicare / Medicaid should be treated just like someone with medical insurance. I really don't appreciate the care that other elderly and disabled people are receiving at this facility. My husband and I try really hard to allow some flexibility with where my mother-in-law receives care, although we help manage her affairs. but my plan is to make an extremely strong suggestion to never return to this facility again.

My mom had cataract surgery here. The post op care is very very minimal. They didn’t even have anti glare glasses, which is routinely given after surgery. They want you out as soon as you are done. Not professional at all!!!!

Family was there 2 and a half days. In a room with NO heat or in the bathroom. We did find a electric heater at nurse station ,& plugged it in the room. Nurses unfriendly some DID NOT know how to run the machines. ABSOLUTELY Dirty, trash piled up the wall, dirty laundry hanging over hamper. Dirty towel 2 wash clothes hanging in bathroom. There was only one meal brought in during the whole stay. No meals were offered. I would NOT recommend Doctors Hospital.

If I were just rating my specific doctor, I'd give him unlimited lifetime stars. Dr. Doskey is an incredible doctor who cares very much both for his patients, and for the area of pain management in general. The business itself is only 3 stars at this point because I feel like the new CEO is doing a good job of implementing better continuity of care, and patient services policy. He is approachable, his business cards are out and available for anyone who visits this business. He also calls back quickly and responds to concerns quickly. Things are slowly getting a little better and a little better. Don't expect a lot, be willing to wait a long time for your visits, especially your first visit. Be willing to see nurse practitioners often, do NOT bring your kids - they aren't allowed to attend your dr visits and there is NOTHING for kids as far as entertainment is concerned. And please, be willing to let CEO Harness know when you see how something could be improved. He really is trying to implement changes to make this place better.

I had a appointment on April 11, 2019 , The nurse practitioner Heather was very rude got mad cause I informed them on what the pharmacy at Walgreens told me to tell them.Heather gets doctor Misasi and he come with a attitude also and tells me to take a deep breathe cause I'm explaining to him , I tell him I don't have to take a deep breathe and I was through talking about it and he say I'm through too and throw my chart on the desk and walk out the room . Not to say the first time I talked with him about injections he gonna say I will make sure it hurts... The doctors there take no interest in the patients they don't want to here what you have to say the only want to do surgery to keep you coming back , I wouldn't recommend this clinic to anyone

I have been going to this office for a few years and any issues or problems that I’ve had has been addressed and corrected immediately!! Yes sometimes the wait time can be a little on the lengthy side but I’d rather wait a long time to see a doctor that takes their time with their patients and truly listens than to get a doctor that doesn’t really care about my issues and concerns and just gets patients in and out for a paycheck. The doctor/physicians assistant I see.... in my opinion is the best!!! I have a true respect for her!! She is always very kind to me.....she truly listens to me about what issues I have going on. She takes her time with me and she goes above and beyond to get me the help I need!!! She talks to me she doesn’t talk at me and most important she remembers me and my issues every visit. Which tells me she truly cares and is truly listening to me!! If you’re going to this facility just for pills then yes I suppose you will have a lot to complain about but I think it’s unfair to give this office a low rating just because you’re going for all the wrong reasons!!

Last week I had a total thyroidectomy done here and my experience was as amazing as possible. The anesthesiologist and his team told me exactly what to expect, same with the OR nurse. All of the nurses were friendly and welcoming, and Dr. Showmaker made sure to visit with me before the procedure. I stayed the night and those nurses were so sweet and took such good care of me. They even brought my husband a bed so he could stay with me in my room! I couldn't have asked for a better experience during a scary time, thanks Ascentist!

Absolutely scandalous, billing false charges two years later, they must be desperate for money, record your visits. They violate your HIPPA RIGHTS. Reported.

I am suffering from Chronic Pain & Abandoned by Gracia. The receptionist accuse me of being stupid. I called b4 I came 2 pick up medical records. When I arrived she said, Didn't I give them 2 U. I said Y would I b here if U did. She said I was rude. How, U just accused me of knowingly come n here 4 nothing. 🤬 the nerve! Dr. Brandon says he's going to do something & doesn't follow thru. Dr. Garcia called me a bully (n front of staff & patients). I was mortified. His staff called me Friday said Garcia would call the script n on Monday. Wednesday I come n 4 my MRI & he tells me he's not going to write the script. I told him his staff said he would. He tells me he don't have 2 see me anymore, that I'm beening a bully. I don't understand where that came from. I do know Dr. Garcia has way 2 many patients. I feel like a number, not a patient cared 4 by one's doctor. Garcia insulted me by giving me 2% lidocaine when I've been using 5%. The wait time is horrible, how u schedule surgery & clinic @ the same time frame. I shouldn't have to wait hours 2 see u when I'm there on time 4 my appointment. # appointment. March 9, wanted 2 discuss, redness on my arm after being under anesthesia 4 a MRI. He refused 😥

I had a wonderful experience here today for an out patient surgery. Every single employee I met was absolutely wonderful and I was extremely well taken care of. Professional, polite, caring and empathetic. I have no idea where some of these bad reviews have come from. They exceeded my expectations.

I cannot say enough great things about the nurses, staff, and doctors at Ascentist Hospital! My care was excellent! Everyone there went out of their way to accommodate me! The people are amazing and the facility is top notch! I would recommend this place and the doctors to anyone! On a scale of 1-10, Dr. Newman is a 15!

Wow. Customer service and courtesy is nonexistent. Front desk personnel do not even look up and barely speak. Arrived at 11:05am for an 11:15am checkin and was not called back to see the physician until 1:05pm. Another patient had been waiting since 10:30am. Unsure how this location remains open.

I had nasal surgery on Oct 25th 2022. All of the care team that assisted me that day was wonderful! A big thank you to the nurses; Nicole, Emma, Brooke, Jerrica and and Ron. Everyone was kind and informative. It’s always nerve wrecking when you’re having surgery even when it’s something minor, it definitely helps ease the nerves when you’re surrounded by professional and friendly faces. I am now 9 days post-op and am feeling great. Dr. Rudman has helped me tremendously. Once again, thank you all.

Genuinely one of the worst medical care facilities I've ever experienced. The front office staff is rude and strives to display their unhappiness. On the morning of my surgery they opening complained about the influx of calls they were receiving, stating "Ugh, it's starting". And, upon calling them to manage billing afterward, they were cold and short- clearly unhappy. Billing itself is an entire nightmare. The surgery center and each individual location will provide you with 3+ phone numbers to contact for bill resolution. Their online patient portal for billing is plagued with bugs and simply doesn't work. Impossible to set up. Each phone number will provide you with a different known bill amount, and by the end of calling every contact they've provided, you'll be left feeling more confused and disrespected than ever before. If you were to attempt recalling for clarification, or if they've rerouted you to an individual you've spoken with previously, they'll become upset and treat you as though you're a problem. I still do not know my bill amount, or where it is coming from. Over a month since my surgery date, and I've received confirmation statements that it's $65, or $600, or $1300- or all three. Find a different provider to avoid ASCs mess.

Dont' go there. Post surgical infection of menigitis and Staph. Two spinal fluid leaks. This hospital is not equipped to handle. They denied transfer to another hospital twice. TV did not work. They are trying to bill us when they haven't even submitted to insurance. Tried to bill charges for post surgery check. FRAUD.

By far the BEST hospital experience I've had in the 30 years that I've been in KC. I visited on 2 separate occasions. First time for an outpatient procedure and the second time for an inpatient procedure requiring an overnight stay. The pre-op nurses and staff were so friendly, helpful and worked as a team. Thr doctors and nurses in the operating room and post-op were just as wonderful. The hospital stay nurses and staff only have 2 patients each as opposed to 6 or more at other hospitals that I've experienced. They were attentive, pleasant, knowledgeable and comforting. I would opt for this hospital when given the chance, hands down!

I was not impressed with our experience to say the least. My husband had sinus surgery with Dr. Johnson, who is a wonderful physician, it is just unfortunate that she practices at this poor excuse of a surgery center. To start the process, we received the preadmission call at 4:45 the day before my husband's surgery, my husband had some questions and the nurse's response was "I am not sure your packet is already up front", I should have taken that as my first clue that we should have ran. I am a preadmission testing nurse and that answer was unacceptable. I was not able to go into preop or post op with my husband. Dr. Johnson had to give me an update of my husband's surgery standing by the elevator which was in the waiting room. I was told that I would receive a call in about 15 minutes from the recovery room to update me on my husband's recovery, an hour and a half later I get a call from the nurse "your husband has been naughty". My husband told the preadmission nurse and later he told me that he told the anesthesiologist preoperatively that he wakes up agitated from anesthesia. The nurse tells me to meet them in the downstairs waiting room, when I arrive they are wheeling my husband out of the recovery room, he is slouched over and mumbling, mind you there are other patients and families watching all of this and the nurse proceeds to tell me that "he is all yours", "we had to give him a dose of Haldol and Precedex". The whole atmosphere was chilling and simply unacceptable. Least to say we will never use their services again.
