I sat for over an hour and a half past my last appointment. No apology. Told me I hadn't passed my drug screening (which is not possible). Was not given option to take again. Left there, went to different provider and drug screening was fine. Just called to cancel appointment and I had to have spoken to the rudest scheduler ever! I definitely would not recommend if you're looking for caring and compassionate pain care!

Garbage like the rest of Pain management in this country. I need a revised fusion on my spine and 2 other surgeries on my SI joints and apparently I still don't need help with pain. So sick of Doctors like this refusing to help. Unless you need a PT referral or a useless cortisone shot just save your money and stay home. None of them are here to really help you!!!

Dr. Kneeman took over my care about a year ago, though I have been under KPA's care for about 6 years now. I started with Dr. Gupta. I had been unable to work due to Occipital Neuralgia (diagnosed just before I came to Dr. Gupta), and Dr. Gupta got me back to work in about 3 years, which was an amazing feat! With my treatment plan in place, and Dr. Gupta spending less time at the pain clinic in Ottawa, I started seeing others in his practice. They were great doctors! But I never felt the same level of engagement with them as I had felt with Dr. Gupta. Then I found Dr. Kneeman!! I am always a nervous wreck when I see someone new, but Dr. Kneeman is awesome! Calm as a cucumber while still being very engaged! He's very thorough and very practiced with the tools of his trade! When we decided it was time to renew my RFA (radiofrequency ablation) and we went to do the nerve-block tests, Dr. Kneeman prevented me from experiencing potentially terrifying side-effects! There had been a miscommunication from the last time I had nerve block done (not with KPM) and I was not supposed to be taking OTC aspirin for a week prior to the blocks! (Which I had been as I had no idea!) Dr. Kneeman is the one who discovered this, through the nurse asking him about Ibuprofen that I had taken earlier the day before so he came in to talk to me. We could not do the nerve block that day, but I was, and am, incredibly grateful that he caught the issue before it could become a terrifying experience! Yesterday I had my RFA with him, and he was just as awesome as ever! It helped that I knew I was in amazingly competent hands, so it seemed like no time at all I was back at home, feeling better already! TlDr: I started with Dr. Gupta (who remains awesome), but I am also ecstatically happy that I am now Dr. Kneeman's patient. Both doctors are absolutely incredible and I am so, so grateful to and for them.

I started going to this office awhile back. My first visit with Dr. Gupta was ok, apparently his nurse appeared to be taking notes but when I had to schedule another appointment nobody could find any information about me. Red flag? Then I started to see Matt, who is the reason I have stayed. He worked his butt off to help me with scans, he takes good notes, he listens, he is amazing! Dr. Rayā€™s visit before an injection was too fast and made me anxious! Red flag? Dr. Dalal was great, she took time to hear me and educate me! The office staff are not great. Thatā€™s my BIGGEST complaint. I never get calls back, they never answer the phone, and my card was charged without permission. Ref flag? I even had to drive to the darn office- 20ish minutes away because I was sick of getting the VM to make an appointment!!! Chronic pain is no joke, itā€™s a tough life. I truly believe Mattā€™s visits have kept me there. It is so frustrating when the one thing keeping you from a doctor is the doctors staff, lack of communication! I suppose Matt and Dr. Dalal out way those red flags!

The doctors, nurses and staff are kind, thoughtful, and truly listen to understand what Iā€™m going through. They presented several options to treat my chronic pain. I finally have a treatment plan that addresses/eliminates my back pain so I can actually live my life!! They are such a blessing to me and Iā€™m grateful to have found them!

The Doctors and nursing staff are so wonderful here. They listen to you and work diligently to make you more comfortable. I have lived with an enormous amount of pain for too long. Washing dishes, cooking, getting into my bed and sleeping ,and several minor activities are so painful for me. The doctors here have worked with me and have given me treatment that has made an enormous difference in my life. I recommend them 100% over any other place you could go.

I have been coming here for 5 years and I LOVE Nicole and Dr Ray!!! I am very medically complex and most doctors won't have anything to do with me for fear of killing me, literally. I've had many clinics of any kind decline to treat me due to these complexities. KSPM, these 2 ladies, have gone above and beyond to accommodate me, help me, etc. They are very caring and want to make sure they are doing right by you and that they are helping you as much as possible. Most of all, they are GREAT listeners!!! Shout out to Nurse Ann for being a caring boss babe and getting things done!!!! Thank you everyone!!!

I had tried everything but was unable to get any relief from the pain caused by 4 bulging discs in my lower back and was beginning to lose hope in ever being pain free until I was referred to Dr. Kneeman. He was able to perform an outpatient procedure that has given me my life back. I would and do recommend him to anyone with uncontrolled pain issues. He and his staff at all of their locations are professional and efficient. Best health care office I have ever dealt with. Thanks again.

They are very friendly, take care you like you are the only person there. The procedure is done so quickly. You're not sitting in the office more than 5 to 10 minutes. Love Dr. Ray and the nursing staff.

The best pain clinic I have been to. I was able to get an appointment the same week I call. I also had my first procedure before I could get an appointment with prior pain clinic where I had been an established patient for over a year. I had an epidural 3 weeks ago. The procedure was gentle Dr Gupta was gentle and patient with me. It hurt less than any other epidural that worked. These guys are great they keep going until the can find away to help you.

Had an awful experience with provider there- she didnā€™t listen- trying pushing pills she was told werenā€™t helping, she tried pushing pills that the patient couldnā€™t take due to transplant history- which is in the chart. Blamed patient for not being seen for months when they were seen a month ago. Blamed patient for not getting mri scheduled although they were told by other facility multiple times they never received the orders. Since appointment and complaint have now received multiple calls to set up said appointment because they just received the order yesterday. Conveyed all to practice manager who just said it basically wasnā€™t their issue they had fax confirmations, they sent orders.

I started seeing Dr Kneeman a few months ago. He is kind and listens to you. I've had the best experience with him. Just had a spinal injection and he made sure I was not uncomfortable. He is the best!

Dr Ray is the best pain management specialist in Kansas City. Arguably one of the brightest and most competent physicians Iā€™ve received care from. The entire team bends over backwards to ensure a first class experience. And most importantly getting RFAā€™s has allowed me to discontinue opioids. I canā€™t recommend her and her team enough.

Iā€™ve been extremely extremely satisfied with this practice and Dr Gupta. Very easy scheduling. Attentiveness to my problems and most of all very knowledgable to my specific spine issues (which have been many). As well Real Solutions that ā€œworkā€. I was with another practice before, and left with Extreme unrelenting pain & told ā€œI needed to learn to live with painā€. Today (while I have to be cautious) I am able to work, and most of my pain has been decreased significantlyā€¦ I have no need at least for now for Pain medication which is such a Blessing. I Highly encourage anyone looking for a good Dr and Practice, to contact a discuss your personal needs etc..

I was referred to Dr Jacob Kneeman after my surgeries for my spine stimulator. I was experiencing severe pain from CRPS, degenerative disc disease as well as arthritis. I went to 3 other pain management clinics only to be told it was in my head. Dr. Kneeman listens and explains. He is amazing

Patients with Ehlerā€™s Danlos often go through a lot of poking, prodding, doctors, hospitals and surgery centers before and after we receive our diagnosis. It can cause issues the more and more we have to go to appointments and procedures. From the ladies at the front desk to the nurses and doctors in back, everyone is cheerful, friendly, and understanding. I can honestly say the kindness, patience and timeliness of the staff makes every visit easier than it is at any other doctor's office I go to. They are truly amazing.

From Anett G: Been seeing Dr. Ray for 4 years and felt the best I ever have. Family-oriented, friendly office;Ā seen several doctors andĀ same wonderfulĀ demeanor, same relief. I have and will continue recommending to family and friends. I've originally 3 years ago had the epidurals, and after excruciating back pain helped me for 2 years, then had sciatica pain again and returned to Dr. Ray had another epidural but had a pinched nerve and required surgery had 2 more epiduralsĀ and got relief and after surgery found out I had diffused arthritis got nerve block which helped and going to have a RFA soon. I am looking forward to eliminating nerve pain and findingĀ relief. Dr. Ray has been my rock through my back pain surgeries!

Was placed with Dr Kneeman who said he had only been there since July. I believe it! He walked in and never examined me, never took notes, had none of my test results and kept looking at his watch. With only asking a few questions and not having the mri results wanted to send me to physical therapy for traction. That would have been fine, but he did not know where I needed to go for it and he did not know how the traction was done. I pulled up my mri results on my phone and he said everything was stable, no disc problem, it says right on the report bulging disc, and that is why I was being referred to him. With him constantly looking at his watch, and his lack of knowledge of ANYTHING and no physical examination I left and told him I would go to a different pain clinic. The office help was no better as I was told to get ther 15 min early for paperwork when I got there, their was none to do. There are too many pain clinic around this area, you do not need to go somewhere who has no knowledge of what they are doing.

They started my procedure on the wrong side of my spine and openly admitted to it after I was in recovery (and told me while I was still high from the meds). Gave me a treatment plan in the beginning that they didn't tell me my insurance wouldn't approve, even though they admitted they knew this in advance, AND didn't tell me until after I'd spent nearly $6k out of pocket. Barely spent any time in recovery and was sent on my way with very little in the way of discharge instructions, which were only told to me, and not my husband, while I was still altered from the meds. He doesn't work in Healthcare like I do and didn't even know what to ask. I feel like they just want to do as many procedures as possible and get paid. Nurses are excellent. Only reason they get two stars.

Dr.Kneeman has been great, he is very attentive and empathetic. I felt like he took the time to understand exactly what I was experiencing. He has been spot on with diagnosis and the best, most effective treatments.

Pros: -Staff is nice -Office is clean -Spinal injection procedure went smoothly Cons: -Office walls are paper thin and you can hear patients talking to Drs. (or exclamations of pain from patients getting procedures, which is what I experienced when I came in for my spinal injection.) -Lack of empathy from Drs. and appointments felt a bit rushed. -Clear disconnect between money and procedures. (Not everyone thinks $300-900 is "no big deal") -I was asked to get a series of X-rays to be looked at later and no one ever looked at them or discussed them with me. I emailed in about this and never heard back. Another $400 cost. -Billing issues - I was contacted the day before my spinal injection and told that due to not meeting my deductible I would need to pay $561 for my procedure the next day. Afterwards I was billed for a total of $828.22, and no one could explain why I was initially told $561. I may not have decided to get the injection for $828, and at the end of the day it didn't even work for me. Unfortunate experience all the way around. -I sent a letter to the office and it was returned twice as "undeliverable".

I can not recommend highly Dr. Kneeman and the whole staff at KPM. I received treatment for a pinched nerve in my lower back. All my questions were answered and during the procedure itself, Dr. Kneeman explained everything that was happenening.

The First doctor I met with took my pain seriously. Immediately scheduled a steroid injection. The second doctor brushed off my concerns about how much pain that injection put me (debilitating pain where I was screaming at every bump in the road on the way home). He then proceeded to tell me that it was sciatica pain not stemming from the disc in my back that an MRI showed a bulge in and I had had surgery to repair a prior herniation of. He told me to come back in 3 months & did absolutely nothing for me. I wonā€™t be coming back. Donā€™t come here if you expect to be listened to

From James McCorkendale: I am under workman's comp, and have had pain in 3 discs. I was treated by Dr. Gupta and Dr. Ray and my pain improved by over 50%. Overall very satisfying experience.

It will not allow me to post a zero stars, so of course I had to post 1 star. I had recently went to the 10995 Overland Park, KS location filled out my information and they had placed me in a room to seen a so called doctor. Whoever I seen I would not call w doctor or even allow him to see any other patients. I walked in there with a slight limp, but walked out with excruciating pain and ended using crutches and being laid up four days not being able to put any pressure on my knee until today when I finally got into a Orthopedic doctor. Whoever I seen at this outfit did a b**lsh*t examination and told me that I needed surgery and that I needed to see a primary doctor before I seen this guy and after a 5ish minute examination he determined that and sent me on my merry way. A few days later the friend who recommended me to schedule my appointment here seen his doctor and told her about my visit I had a MRI facility call me to setup an appointment. I highly suggest that you to find an orthopedic or specialist before you make an appointment here unless youā€™re looking to have surgery right away or youā€™re looking for pill pushers because thatā€™s what my whole 5ish minute appointment consisted of and that no one should have to have to deal with any place like this

After my back surgery I was not getting the pain management needed at the hospital until Dr Dalal was called in. Under her care I was able to finally gain relief and was able to return home. Our follow ups I felt heard by her. Her follow through on treatment plan and communication are excellent.

My experience is with Dr Mayank Gupta specifically, not Kansas pain management. I saw him through concentra for workmans comp claim. I had and still do have a shoulder injury that had not responded to a short period of physical therapy. Dr. Gupta ordered an MRI of my cervical and thoracic spine. Results came back as 2 bulging disc's in my cervical spine with some mild stenosis. Thoracic spine was fine. Dr Gupta said there was nothing in the MRI that would be causing my shoulder pain and that I was cleared to go back to work with no restrictions and no treatment plan for my shoulder. When I asked him why there was no MRI ordered for my shoulder he said that there wasn't an MRI for a shoulder. This is the first time I realized he is either incompetent or doesn't care about his patients. There was paperwork given to me by my company that I needed him to fill out to extend my medical insurance while on workmans comp and he refused to even look at it. He was completely dismissive of my concerns for getting my shoulder healthy so I could return to work. Since then, I have seen an orthopedic specialist on my own who immediately told me that the bulging disc's absolutely have everything to do with my shoulder pain, ordered an MRI of my shoulder and has developed a treatment plan to help return my shoulder to 100% without surgery or pain medication. If I could give this man negative stars I would. I can't speak for the other doctors at this practice but if you are considering seeing Mayank Gupta for treatment look elsewhere, he has absolutely no concern for the welfare of his patients. At least that was my experience while under his "care".

Love Doctor Ray! And of course the staff. Denise and company. Very caring team. Multiple locations and responsive to my needs. Be aware that each insurance company is different and will impact the pain management process.

  • 1/5 Linda C. 11 months ago on Google
Initial appointment went well even though the injections did not help my pain. Billing is not transparent. I paid $100 up front and was led to believe that was all I would owe. Then I received another bill for $254. Later I had a televisit with Dr. Malburg that went nowhere. During this short phone call, I was lectured for doing research on the internet, and the doctor interrupted me multiple times while I was trying to talk. Today I received a $284 bill for that phone call that accomplished nothing. (The charge for the phone call was almost $400 but my insurance covered a small portion.) I visit with a nurse practitioner at Research Hospital on a regular basis and I am charged $0 for it. She always listens to me and never degrades me for educating myself on my symptoms and possible condition. I will never return to this pain center. Be sure to do your research up front and know what you are going to be charged for appointments, procedures, etc.

From Ms. Vera Copeland: Excellent in every way. Dr. Gupta did a medial branch block procedure. My pain immediately went down after the procedure. I also received an RFA last December, and have had no headaches since then. I highly recommend Kansas Pain Management. -Vera Copeland

Dr. Ray and entire staff are elite, ethical and professional. I have been their patient for several years and they are wonderful! I have a a spinal cord stimulator in my future but Dr. Ray is exhausting all other options prior to pressing for this. I have become very attached to them all. McKenna has always gone above and beyond for me.

I've been going to see Dr. GUPTA for several years. He interested me in using a Nevro Device for the pain in my legs & back. Many years ago I had back surgery & over the years the pain had gotten almost unbearable. The device was a godsend. The follow ups by Nevro people were great & helpful. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
