It was one of my favorite places in town, but the LOW quality services ruin everything. It's not worth it anymore. Very disappointed.

Comfortable seating, attentive staff, and fast service. English menu available. A wide selection of vegetarian dimsum. Some items are quite oily and other items are bland in flavor but majority of dishes are delicious and well made and well plated.

The Quinoa rice was really a must-eat!!! The custard bun was not moist and not sweet enough. The veggie stir-fry- dumping was filling (according to my friend who had it ==> I didn't have one!)

It's not common to find a Chinese tea house in Taiwan. Thus, this restaurant is quite popular and especially it provides vegetarian dim sum and dishes. Dim sums are yummy and look good. The dining environment is also good which is large and comfortable. So, the price is relatively high but lower than in Hong Kong.

Food was super tasty. I liked the rice wrapped truffle flavor dumpling thingy. It was rich and creamy and had an interesting texture all around. The other rice thingies were also really nice. The slightly soggy texture might be a little weird for foreigners who aren't used to eating this kind of food, but the flavor was definitely interesting and they added a kind of sesame tasting oil saxuce. Was a little bit disappointed with their organic seasoned vegetables as they only gave us one kind but the quality was good and also creamy. Since I have some oil allergies I always ask for olive oil. Unfortunately they don't have the option to use olive oil and they only use soybean oil. The chocolate ball thingies were perfectly fluffy with the sesame feeling being super creamy as well. Since it's supposed to be nicer more upscale restaurant would be nice if they would give the option to use olive oil for some of their dishes..

As usual, Hi-Lai Vegetarian does not disappoint. First time at this location and their vegetarian fare is lightly done and flavorful. Enjoyed the “sweet/sour chicken” done with monkey head mushrooms. The tea (mountain high) pot was kept hot and refreshed. The “炸兩” (fried two), fritter wrapped in rice noodle was very crunchy. We enjoyed many of the dishes.

It's a bit more expensive than other places, but you get excellent quality food and perfect service - the best choice for some vegetarian "fine dining" in Kaohsiung. Have been here twice now and would always go again.

Eating my (vegetarian) way through Taiwan, this is one place that consistently refuses to disappoint. On any parameter. This time around we went for dinner, after a long day of roaming in the heat and this was probably the best thing to happen to us all day. Their Dan Dan mian was awesome - we wolfed it down in seconds (they say it's spicy, but it's really not. maybe a bit, but really, no ) . We also got a cabbagey, leafy dumpling (yes, please find it I can't remember its name for the life of me) which was also amazing. Next up were platters of various vegetables - all excellent and a Mapo tofu which was again - brilliant! Their's is also the best vegan Chao mian in this hemisphere. Despite the generous potion, we were contemplating getting some more. Vegan meatballs and bibimbap were also demolished, again all at lightning speed. The original plan was to save room for dessert which obviously didn't happen. There's always a next time!

Overall, very tasty! However, if you are vegan like myself, I'd recommend you check the menu first then come. There are "many" tasty dishes which are not vegan, which is a pity.

Great food with creative recipe. Easily the best vegetarian meal I’ve ever had so far. The price is reasonable. Good dining environment.

Undoubtedly my all-time favourite vegetarian restaurant in Kaohsiung City (or anywhere else!). The restaurant is very well organised, thoughtfully planned out, spacious, and is simply an extremely pleasant place in which to eat. The service is fantastic. Staff are welcoming, friendly, and highly efficient and professional in all aspects. Finally, of course, the food is absolutely superb. The menu offers a brilliantly eclectic choice of vegetarian dishes that blend various styles of SE Asian cuisine, and new and interesting options are introduced regularly. I'll never tire of their vegetable rice dishes. Ingredients are always fresh and of very high quality. I highly recommended this restaurant to anyone in search of a first-rate dining experience in Kaohsiung (and it's a must-try for any vegetarians), all for a very reasonable price. All of this praise comes from a customer who has dined here over 20 times in the past year.
