Tan Zuo Ma Li is one of the most famous and popular Japanese style grill restaurants in southern Taiwan, counterpart of Umai in the middle of Taiwan. It’s really difficult to get a reservation, especially for holidays, so make sure to plan in advance. The decor is wide-spaced, luxurious and classy. The sides which came with set were delicate and delicious; The quality of meat was high and saved in fresh with reasonable price. However, we were little disappointed with their “help and grill yourselves“ service. It was a fun experience but we felt uncomfortable that we wasted the food due to our reluctance. Compared to our dining experience with similar price range in Umai, there was more support or explanation from the staff.

The food was great, everything was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful, The ambiance was nice and relaxing. All dishes arrive quickly.

The dining environment and space are excellent! The servers are also great, making it a wonderful place for a date. They accept multiple payment methods, and after eating, you can go shopping at Dream Mall.

Excellent service and atmosphere. The food was great with a huge variety to choose from. All the dishes arrived quickly and the staff was really friendly. They have ample parking, too, for both cars and scooters.

I come here many times. It’s a good place for friend gatherings and family reunions. Classic and elegant design makes the atmosphere exceptionally. Must eat!

Sitting beside a table with kids running around can be crazy. Super noisy and totally affected the nice food....

My first time visiting, went there to celebrate both me and my friends birthday. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really really nice, the architecture, vibe.. just everything!! The food was amazing, we ordered a set for two deal, the quality of each dish was fantastic. I really liked the creativity thoughts for the dessert choices and I ended up choosing cloud/sky themed panna cotta/Jelly.😗

It is a decent place for family gathering. My family celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival. Wide range of meal choices. Meat is fresh, hot food are delicious.

This is one restaurant I always go to when I visit Taiwan. The quality of the restaurant and overall atmosphere is a delight. Of course the bbq is nothing shy with an amazing selection of foods to grill and enjoy. The service although no major complaints can feel awkward at times.

Fancy yakiniku in a fancy restaurant. We tried so many new food like the seared cheese marshmallow matcha latte, beef tongue sushi, and cheese sweet potato. And my God they were so good. Can't say you come to kaoshiung without eating at this place.

I really hate wasabi and they put wasabi on all the sushi, there’s no description on the menu regarding the composition of each item, the staff also didn’t tell anything. A restaurant should know that not everyone can accept the wasabi flavor. Really makes me disappointed, ruining my new year eve.
