Lighthouse located at CiHou high with very nice bird eyes views of Kaohsiung harbor and Taiwan Strait waterfront, and also NSYSU campus at Cizuwan. Well control the entrance of the harbor.

A short, steep hike up the hill, and you'll arrive at the Cihou Lighthouse (旗后灯塔), also known as the Kaohsiung Lighthouse (高雄燈塔). The lighthouse's design was rather ordinary, but the place was well-maintained. There is a small room with some exhibits on the lighthouse's history. The view here is great (which seem to be the main reason most people visit the lighthouse, judging from the other reviews).

About hundred steps up the hill, a light house emerge from the lush hill trees. Entering into the light house area you will have a panoramic view of Kaohsiung Harbour. A easy work out for young and old. I will recommend this as a must visit scenery in Kaohsiung.

Full of memories here ❤️❤️❤️ A must visit place when visiting Kaohsiung. You will be rewarded by the breathtaking views of the harbor and the NSYSU university from a distance. Now, there are coffee, tea, ice cream and gift shops here too. Wonderful 👍

A short, but steep hike up to a beautiful viewing spot and the lighthouse. The scenery around is just lovely.

Excellent place to visit on any trip to Gaoxiong. Not just the lighthouse but actually the whole Cijin Island (pinyin should be QiJin but a lot of the names are a tiny bit off in Gaoxiong). The view from either side is worthwhile, and the ferry is a great and easy way to get across tho the line can get longer on holidays.

I liked the fort and the light house a lot, you have an amazing view out to the beach and ocean and of course over the whole city of kaohsiung. Many good photo locations. You can spend a lot of time here even if you just sit and relax, watch the big boats coming and going... Or enjoy the sunset...

Best way to view Kaohsiung! There place is actually walkable from the Cijin island port. You may need water and some energy for this hike. But the view is all worth it. From here Kaohsiung skyline including the renowned 85 Sky Tower - the tallest in the city. Few steps there are shops for souvenirs. You can also take great photos from here.

Nice place to go for a morning trail hike with the family. The hike is very easy with some stairs. The view is quite nice, and afterwards, you could go to the old street to grab lunch or snacks.

Near Qijin old street, with clear view of Shizhiwan and kaohsiung harbor. The Qihou fort is nearby as well.

Nice lighthouse with a cafe. Cinnamon roll and coffee for a nice snack. Place where you can see the sun and moon at the same time. Nice sunset view as well.

No need to buy tickets. Open from 10am-9pm... Be ready for a 10-20 minutes walk depends on you.Enjoy the panoramic view of the cijin beach, gushan pier, big ships, 85 tower, and many more while walking,. the most beautiful part is the sunset🥰 the combination of the lighthouse's architecture and the natural surroundings creates a picturesque scene. It is truly a captivating sight. Just relax while listening to music. Have fun!

You know 無名 LOVES lighthouses. 無名 was sort of on tour of them here in Taiwan now. 無名 felt like 無名 needed to come to this creative archaic land before China... and after America... This lighthouse is really nice and if 無名 was a young man, 無名 would try to bring a girl 無名 likes here so... Lighthouses are so romantic, don't you think? 無名 does. Dark starlit skies casting intense soft shadows illuminated by infrequently timed flashes from the lighthouse lense. Please consider 無名 and 無名's girl with their synchronous breathing and thumping hearts softly pounding out of time. 無名 is having problems concentrating because of the silence he hears. Well then again, lighthouses are lonely places too, don't you think? 無名 does. Consider their solitary keepers conversing with themselves, slowly driven to insanity by their isolation together. 無名 heard their screams at this very moment. Everything about these most peaceful places in the world is so dangerous too, don't you think? 無名 does. You know what 無名 means: angry storms happily crashing into the sea. 無名 says whoever you are, "thank you Lord," it is here that the light is 無名's harbor of safety, don't you think? 無名 does. You see what 無名 is getting at? 無名 does. There is so much indistinct duality and dichotomy that is apparent, but really so little to juxtapose and contrast. 無名 is certain he is confused. Lighthouses are the liminal zone where land and sea meet. This is very clear to 無名. They are someplace not dry, somewhere not wet. One thing 無名 knows is that 無名 is unsure that 無名 wants to be here, right now over there only at this very moment to include forever. 無名 HATES so much 無名 is a prisoner to lighthouses. You understand this is incoherent, don't you think? 無名 does.

Nice lighthouse with views out over the port and down the coast. There's a small exhibition inside too, plus a coffee and ice cream shop. The walk upto it isn't too strenuous.

A top down bird's eye view of the entire harbour. A slightly steep slope up, despite the sign indicating just 350m. Free to enter.

The view is worth for a long walk up to the hill.

Very nice place. A lot of walking around to do here. And keep in mind, the shade is not very abundant, so bring a hat or sunscreen. On a sunny day, it's very strong.

Great place to visit. Amazing views and atmosphere. I was lucky because that day the air was clear and not so polluted. No entry fee. There is a good coffee/tea shop. The place is only accessible by walking.

The view from where the lighthouse sits is epic! There is a nice little Cafe up the top as well so you can spend some time relaxing and soaking in the view while having a coffee etc. The walk up there doesn't take long at all, but there is a slight incline so I would recommend comfy shoes. It's definitely worth checking out if you're in Koahsiung, especially at sunrise or sunset.

    Nice view on Cijin island

I arrived at Cijin after dark, and I was thrilled to find that the lighthouse was open late into the night. I've never visited during the day, but visiting at night is great, at least on weekends when it is quite lively here. There was a coffee shop, a lot of young people, and even a busker providing background music. What you miss in harbor views is made up for by the view of the lighthouse lantern in action.
