Easily 5 out of 5 !!! Tasty duck meat, refreshing duck soup, boiled vegetables was fresh, and the pork rice was perfect. Kind owner and staff too, and this food make my day! Surely will be back here anytime i visit Kaohsiung! Must try restaurant in Kaohsiung!

When you see such long lines in front of this shop you just know it has to be excellent. Duck meat is so tender. The braise meat rice is great too. Highly recommended 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍. (Be prepared to queue up, but service is fast) Don't forget to have their sauce to go with those heavenly duck meat.

From my experience from HK, the restaurant staff are much kinder. Now the food. We relied on Google translate and we're glad we had duck with rice, pork mince and a separate plate for 1/2 duck. Somehow the 1/2 duck tastes slightly smoky. It is different form your hainanese chicken or roast duck. Definitely deserves it's Michelin bib gourmand rating!

I tried this place because it was the most famous duck restaurant in this city. I ordered Duck dry vermicelli, duck soup, and half sliced duck meat. I ended up getting scammed for the half duck meat portion in which the son chopping the duck would take 1-2 pieces off every part of the duck. It's about honesty and I don't recall ordering "half a duck minus 5 slices". Either raise the prices or actually list the duck as having 5 less slices. So dishonest. The duck meat itself is nothing special. Fyi, call it out and watch as your duck is being prepared. The stolen pieces end up being served for other dishes and they never set aside a new duck for those dishes. Attached is a portion of my meal that they generously stole for other dishes. My guess for a whole duck would have the hidden "minus 10 slices special"

We had the duck rice bowl, rice cake, a plate of duck meat and some greens. Find a table, take note of your table number. Order, and sit. When all of the food is served, pay the lady serving your food. Duck rice bowl is delicious. The duck meat was boney and had just a few meat. Grewn vegetable also good. They have a condiment section where you can help yourself with their special sauce. Recommended local experience!

Not bad. The flavor are mellow and nice, in which the duck is reliant on the sauce they use. Good cheap eats local spot.

The duck taste extremely clean. Rating might not be an extremely accurate review as we did not eat the popular spare parts of the duck. In my opinion the veg is a must have.

We arrived at 7:15pm on Monday. Luckily there was no queue. Found our table and number, told the boss in the food session what we wanted and table number, our food were delivered to us all together in a few minutes. We paid the bill at once. Tasty food, clean place, fast and friendly service...and cheap. The meal costed us NT$240.

This is a very famous restaurant, the queue was long even though I visited during weekend! I ordered the Duck Rice in big portion. It is actually braised duck with rice like Lu Rou Fan. The duck was not gamey, the duck flavour matches so well with the sauce! You have to find a seat before you line up and when you order you need to tell the staff your table. If you are dining in solo, you should line up first and when you order, you simply tell the staff you are solo and they will immediately arrange a seat for you.

So good 😋 You need to come and try. It’s so good. Braised duck with rice, top up with braised pork with their clear soup. Served hot. It’s a combination of natural flavors, I don’t know how to explain, but 100% recommended hehehehe 🤩 All staff are nice to foreigners and the local atmosphere is good too. But because it’s a popular destination, you might have to wait in line for quite some time. (15 minutes at 7:30 pm for me, not bad)

Service was really fast and even though there was a queue, it went by really quickly. The rice itself tasted really delicious but I definitely have tasted better duck meat back in Singapore. But for the price, the food was definitely worth it. Interested to come back again to try their 米血 duck blood cake as I saw a lot of people ordering it.

This is one of the 2 places I will return to Taiwan, just for a plate of duck meat and its heavenly soup. The other place is a goose place which is top on my list. Duck Zhen, when it comes to Duck Dishes, it is the benchmark. Any Duck meat dishes chef should look to Duck Zhen as the minimal requirement to deliver a decent plate of Duck meat. Their soup is good enough to kill for! The only downside of this place is the queue. If you come 1 hrs before or after the lunch crowd, do be prepared to wait in the queue. However, due to the good memory of the chef, the servings are quite fast. The few times I am at Duck Zhen, I arrived at approx 3pm to 4pm and there is still a short queue. Imagine you are Herr during the lunch or dinner hours!

The duck is cooked very well, meat is tender, you can taste the original duck taste yet there is no odour from the meat. Service speed is quite fast. Soup is pepperish. Reasonable price.

Pretty bland and tasteless duck meat, although the duck rice was juicy and delicious. Queued for quite awhile, but the turnover for the tables was fast. It could be a mismatch in taste as we weren't accustomed to the local food, but it was definitely not to our liking as we preferred a stronger tasting dish.

Im grateful that the onwers are very kind to foreigners even when they are super busy. Expect to queue a long line but the food is very worthy. Many locals recommended me this place for Kaohsiung signature duck dish.

If the near 10000 reviews don’t send a clear message… let me be expressly clear: the food here is incredibly affordable and hearty. Duck is perfectly seasoned (not too salty, not too lean, not too fatty — just perfect), and the veggies are a great addition (super fresh and savory + garlicky). Vermicelli duck soup is super flavourful. Get here early because there is always a line out the door. Highly, highly recommended.

Okie la .. its really good!!! There is a mixture of 卤肉 in the duck rice ..the intestine soup is really nice without the weird taste! The queue is long but clear very fast. The food Is cheap!!! 5 dollar for rice and soup and cabbage

Very tasty clear noodle soup and duck, very exotic local side dishes. Super cheap. Only 405NT (13USD) for a whole table of food ( 3clear noodles, 1/4 roast duck, duck blood rice cakes, and vegi). Unbelievable!!! Outdoor/indoor seating, safe for COVID, Not fancy or comfortable but good enough for a quick meal.

You may regret if you don’t come here and try all signature dishes. Recommend to come with friends; 1 person go to reserve table seat 1 person line up in long queue for ordering. Must try menu for me: 烤肉饭，烫青菜，下水汤 😋 The price is quite cheap. Food taste is awesome 👏🏻 Really worth for visit indeed.
