Great place for backpacker! Warm hosting, tidy and clean. Smooth combination of bookstore, cafe and hostel.

A nice place to visit if you love books, the atmosphere is great and the workers are nice. It is a cafe, you can have a rest or read some books, they do provide accommodation too. They have the latest books and second hand books too. There might not much variety of books but you still can find some nice one. Most of the books is in Chinese.

Susu is a great place. polite, helpful, and warm people welcomed us. The first floor serves as secondhand book store and it feels so cozy. The rooms are okay and feels warm. Located not so far from Taitung Old Railway Hanzhong Street, Huang Huang secondhand book store is well known by many backpackers. The book story is not only special for it vintage decoration and dozen of secondhand books, but it’s also because you can exchange your secondhand books for accommodation! In the store, there are many characteristic cultural and creative stationery with books and art and cultural information from all over the world that is posted by the owner or collected form the backpackers.

I guess I stayed here on 2014. This place made my trip in Taiwan unforgettable and fall into taitung city. Thanks to owner, susu! Taitung is redeveloped with good sense after their train station abandoned, today the place is called iron flower village used as cultural zone. There are a lot of young people in good motivation to develop culture. This hostel, is combined with second hand bookstore, looks to me one of main actor for that cultural taitung. I met interesting people there and we had nice conversation and stimulating discussion. It must be best place for students who love such intellectual or cultural atmosphere. Taitung is small and not such party city but full of motivation and vibes. Love to visit again someday!!
