It was so easy to get a ferry to this island. You can use your easy card and it's a quick 5 minute journey to the island. Cijin Island is so beautiful. I am a beach lover at heart and if I lived in Kaohsiung, I would probably go here everyday. You can rent a bike and ride around the whole island if that is what you want to do. I just wanted to walk on the beach. I stopped at the Sunset Cijin bar which is the only bar there and watched the beauty of the sun setting with a nice cocktail. What a great way to end the day.

Nice park! Extremely suitable for renting a bike and ride along the coastline, and finish off with some bites at the local night market

Everything is walkable in here if you got plenty of time. It's only 5 mins boat ride from the city. Where you can bring your bicycle or motorcycle inside the ferry.

Quite surprised this is rated highly. The whole area feels abandoned and run down. Not in an interesting way either. The beaches are full of trash, and much of the pathways have trash along them too. The businesses were all closed midday on a weekday. Some of the beaches are closed to people (I was politely asked to leave the beach where I’d ventured for a photo). If it was cleaned up and the pathways better maintained, it would be a peaceful place to walk.

Great place for sunset viewing. The unique black sand is also worth to visit. It was tiny/soft like flour and the particle of the sand is small enough to leak away automatically from fingers' gap. I enjoyed the strong breeze as usual.

I love this beach. Highly recommend. There's always events happening there. However, the beach is big enough if you don't want to be around crowd or music. The staff members speak English as well which is great

Too populated during weekends and public holidays.....and when its time to leave with the ferry please que mich earlier...the long line is insane when its time to go back. And too sunny. Also please dont come with a a bike from the other side...lots of bikes to rent when you get there.

Definitely a must visit venue if u visit Kaohsiung. Recommended to visit mid afternoon to ve enough time for sightseeing, watch the beautiful sunset at the beach & flow through the night with a romantic dinner at Cijin Sunset Bar (western crusine). Alternate if u are a sea food lover, Cijin Old Street offers great, cheap Seafood. 1kg Lobster at about NT1100. Ferry service cost NT20 (Can use the Taiwan EZ-link card or cash). Timings at 15mins intervals (peak hr), 30mins interval (off peak). Last ferry departing Cijin is 0200H.

Very attractive and enjoyable place I've ever visited. Do not miss the electric bike riding, very funny.

Most people stay in the area nearest to the ferry pier, there's also a beach bar. Between this area and the rainbow church, you can find some really nice and quiet area to spend some time at the water.

Small island but beautiful place. Sand art and different kites are so attractive. Shell gallery is also good. Amazing collection of shells

Beautiful place to visit and take pictures of the sunset. You can explore the place by renting a motorized pedicab to save you from a really long walk.

A must if u in Kaoshiung. Very relaxing day. Beautiful sun set... Spend about 5 hours there taking our time. However, the xin guang da dao is a disappointment. Just a tunnel. Have to walk to the other end of tunnel view is good.

Beautiful scenery with dark sand beaches, nice shell museum and electric bike and pedicab transport for rent. The bike and pedi-path stretches the length of the island it seems (we only went half way in the 2 hour rental since we had to get back again in time and we stopped a bunch). The ferry is just 5 minutes, and everything is priced very reasonably.

A delightful treat so near to Kaohsiung. Beach, lighthouse, bar(s)?, excellent quick fry food. Look for the little curio store near the fort.

Nice place to go and take the family. You see a lot of art and on this day they had a sand castle exhibit. Lots of food and items to buy. Or just sit and enjoy the view and the sound of the ocean. This place is full of tourist and locals. I recommend you come by and enjoy.
