Not sure why all the good reviews! It's a bad version of a bad zoo with a few crocks laying around so tourist can pay a bit and pose for a picture. Shame on you if you're one of them! The whole place is small and in poor condition. 2x stars as the museum and exhibits behind the crocodile pool were quite interesting. Still, not really worth a 30 minute drive in traffic

Nice place but a bit run down. The entrance smells terribly. Other than that the guides are informative and it’s exciting to be close to the crocodiles. The museum in the beginning is very interesting too. I wish they would receive more funding or help to update the area.

The workers are very nice and welcoming. The museum has a lot of information and items you can see. I enjoyed my time there and was happy that I was able to see and touch 1 crocodile. The path was nice and we were able to see some big trees. Someone bought bananas and started to feed the monkeys. Basically you can see both crocodiles and monkeys here. If you only have time to go to 1 of the parks I would recommend the crocodile pool over the monkey park due to the kindness of the staff members.

It’s quite a small place and we struggled to find it but the workers were happy to answer any questions we had. We got to touch crocodiles for the first time of our lives and above all those beautiful creatures are free to roam. They are not stuck in small closed spaces for the pure pleasure of humans. It’s very cheap to enter and there’s also a very interesting little museum at the beginning on local tribes cultures, music instruments, traditional activities… very informative and highly recommended. Don’t rush through it because you’re impatient to see the crocodiles 😁

KACHIKALLY CROCODILE POOL= I have too much respect about these kind of animals. However, to touch one of them is something exciting and a unique experience for me! Lots of them are lying outside the pool some with open mouth some are maybe sleeping ?! am not so sure :-) But they are silent if you are silent too and not scare them. They don't eat meat because they are vegetarian crocodiles. That's why they are not aggressive towards human meat!!! However i was still watchful!

Loved this experience. My partner did too, the crocodiles are just basking in the dappled shade you hardly notice half of them. The staff are accommodating taking pictures for you. And the museum is very culturally interesting.

Arch 22 is a monument that was constructed by the former regime/ government that came into power in July 1994. It is situated at the entrance at the capital city Banjul. It is also a tourist attraction area.

Lovely experience. The park itself is very small. Doesn’t take long to see everything. Crocs were cool. However they don’t move. Just very still. The owners says it’s because they are well fed.

You’ll pay 100 dalasis for entry to the museum which is small but pretty informative. The “pool” is just a few meters away (you have to go through museum) with many crocodiles just “chilling “ and those are the ones which you can touch. I DO NOT agree with it and watching other people to almost sit on 🐊 and make so cool poses is disgusting. Those animals are not pets. You can go close to them just with local guide. The other section is the “pool” and I can’t go close to those ones as they are aggressive (well that’s their nature right?) but it was fascinating to watch them fight and make so many different noises! The last “section “ is with babies which is hard to spot as they are hiding:) If you wish you can make an contribution which could help locals to maintain the area a feed those crocodiles.

Cool pool with many crocodiles roaming in it. Their handler will get them out of water for you and let your touch them if you dare. I don't advise doing it, as animals generally don't like being touched or contaminated by humans. Aside from the pool there is a very small park with a predefined path where some iguanas may be also spotted. Also, there is a museum at the entrance taking about Gambia's history from different aspects. The entrance fee is 100 dalasi and gives access to the museum and the pool. No extra payments required.

Interesting museum at the entrance and then a couple of minutes walk through to the crocodiles. Handlers around so can give you background to the crocodiles and the history of the pool. Only about 100 Dalasis entry fee between £1-£1.50. A few local stalls with trinkets and clothes.

Cracking place to visit. Our taxi driver took us to here and then acted as our guide walking around the buildings and explained certain things to us. The wall was very informative of the history of the area with many artifacts and pictures. He then handed us over to a guide for the crocs and he was also informative and helpful and helped us get close and touch them. We made a donation of 400D to help them stay open. The taxi driver then took us back to our hotel. This cost 900D and we gave him a nice tip. Great place to visit and see the crocodiles

That was a great experience. At first i could not believe i can touch the crocodiles but at the end i dared to get close and touch them. The place and people were nice. There was a museum at the gate which was fine. The only negative thing was that the place was not clean which was sad. It worths the experience.

Arch 22 is a commemorative arch on the road into Banjul in the Gambia. It was built in 1996 to mark the military coup d'état of July 22, 1994, through which Yahya Jammeh and his Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council overthrew the democratically elected Gambian government.

The stairs are easy to manage and can be done in stages. I doubt if the lift will ever be fixed. There are some exhibits about Gambian history that I found interesting. I paid 100 dalashis and had the whole archway to myself. You're basically paying for the view and different perspective of Banjul.

Great pool that has been around for 400 years. Its origins are not touristy, as pool was created and used for local rituals and this gives the place an authentic vibe. According to the guide majority of crocs get out at the hottest part of the day (13:00-16:00). You might see baby crocodiles too. Crocodiles are not locked or caged and are free to roam, and even walk out into the neighbourhood during the rain season.

Very educational. I really liked it. Watch when you leave. The children surround you and want money and that is no problem. But they also surround your car and follow it by holding onto it as you leave. They broke our passenger side mirror. We fixed it just heads up when you leave.

Great place to visit while you’re in the Gambia. They have a small museum at the entrance which is very informative about a variety of cultural and historical topics. The crocodiles are very well fed and are safe to touch under the supervision of one of the guards. The well-being of animals is always a concern of mine when visiting places like this, but I get the impression they are well treated and looked after. Staff were friendly and informative, they ask for a donation at the end but not in a pushy way. The only negative we felt was that they sell pencils etc. for you to give to the children in the area which I feel can generate a begging culture which we hadn’t found elsewhere on our travels.

À very nice experience. The crocodiles life here for several hundred years. They seam to be docile and used to have people around them. There a plenty of them, and you may touch them. Still, it is a bit scary Our guide told us, that as a child he visited the place almost every Friday, becaus children were told an albino crocodile, that brings luck, only appears on Fridays. He never saw one. But we were lucky, the albino was there. Nice story

The Zoo with a more interesting museum. I will be honest to say that I enjoyed he museum much more, featuring different musical instruments (which you can try) and historical moments of The Gambia. After the museum you get to take a short stroll through a forest rounding the lake where a staff member is supervising the Crocodiles. They are animals, that were sunbathing. Nothing more to it :)

You can't visit The Gambia and leave without visiting this sacred place. It's the only place were crocodiles are more friendly to human beings. They've never been aggressive to people.

This place was cool. It cost 100 Dalais to enter which is 2.00 USD our tour guide Bax walked us through giving us history..REAL history!! then we walked with the Crocodiles and touched them. At the end of the tour there was a gift shop but pricey for Gamia...There will be a hoard of kids that will run up when you get there so have candy or coins for them. I think the parents make these babies do this.

It was a very fascinating experience. You get to touch the crocodiles too! There has never been an incident so don’t panic.

Nice place to visit with over a hundred crocodiles in and around a pool. Some of them can be touched. There have been crocodiles here for almost 400 years. A visit to the pool takes not more than 15 minutes, but there also a very nice museum about the history of Gambia and it’s culture. And don’t forget to see the giant tree!

It’s short stop 😉 but it’s closest way how to touch crocodile. Friendly staff will tell you all about pool and animals

Nice to see the crocs (there's a lot of them & 1 albino which is cool), they get fed fish so don't attack people or others. There is a small (not very well maintained) museum with some history and culture of The Gambia

It’s small and immediately over, but the staff running it are charming and they know how to play a group. They appealed to the children in every way, enticing a bit of fear and then letting them feel brave and relaxed. The crocodiles are much the same as anywhere else, lazy looking with their mouths wide open, and it seems each one of these you go to you find another ‘extremely rare’ albino one - which is whitish yellow in hue with devilishly red eyes. The kids all got to touch them and the croc played along too, turning its head and looking with intent which was enough to get us all hurrying along. Lovely area, over quickly and perfect for children. It also has a small museum attached with some historical points and some of the trees on the walk to the crocodile pool are stunning too.

Apart being able to get close to the crocodiles, there is nothing else much. Although there is a small museum which there are some info, pictures and old instruments. I am doubtful that although the keepers claims the crocodiles are hypnotised , but seems to me they are drugged so people can get close to them. I didn’t feel comfortable doing that.

A spot living the cultural norms and traditions of Bakau and The Gambia. Sensationally sacred. Worth a visit.
