Not bad. Had a group moving in to the hotel so you could tell service was stretched. Food was resort pricey but not bad at all. Simple menu items. Service was good. Bartender was pretty on it but very busy. Being a Foodie, I give them credit for keeping up. Nice, big bar with ambience, however. We just stopped by on the wrong day, in addition to everything the island is going through with shortages. Good job staff, in light of everything. 🤙✌

This place had a really mellow and relaxing vibe. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. It was a little pricey but very good and healthy. I liked the sweet potatoes with turmeric and roasted nuts.

May 2023: Celebrated my birthday 🎉🎂 here for dinner. We were sat outside and had the best server! She was knowledgeable, very warm and attentive. I felt super special! I started with a local beer 🍺 and the crab 🦀 cake. This was delicious! For my main, I had the seasonal local catch which was the kanpachi. The fish tasted very fresh and was seasoned well. Would definitely get this dish again 👍. I was pleasantly surprised with a birthday cake 🍰. I thought the white cake with berries was fantastic. I would order a slice if this was on the dessert menu. Thank you for a fabulous dinner celebration!

First time visiting Halani for my anniversary. Beautiful hotel and truly the feeling of Hawai'i as you enter! 3 hr valet is included with validated ticket... The drinks are well crafted but priced higher than even other resorts on Kohala Coast. The service was absolutely top-notch and the tables well laid out to allow for quiet conversation without overhearing other tables. The menu is broad and likely has something for everyone but to be honest the flavors were a little underwhelming. My wife's seared Ahi on coconut curry couscous was spectacular but my braised short rib didn't have any of the truffle flavor it advertised but rather a lot of raw panko crumbs poured over it... I enjoyed the evening but I will likely go elsewhere in the future for my celebration meals at this price point.

We are sitting at a table in the bar now. They are only serving people sitting around the actual bar. We can not help there are not actual bar seats available. Sitting for 25 minutes, we decide to walk 5 steps to the bar and ask for an order. This is very RUDE to ignore other patrons that can not get a bar seat. We have been politely waiting for anyone to acknowledge us at the tables they provide in their bar.

Love coming here for happy hour. The libations are delicious. The food come in super small portions at a very high price, so we'll just stick to drinks in the future. The setting is lux and relaxed.

We had a lovely lunch here after arriving on the Big Island, with great service and good food. We had Poke “Nachos” and a delicious Thai Beef salad… The place is elegant, and has a wonderful indoor/outdoor setting that really connects with the warm Hawaiian nature. But don’t worry - it’s not formal or stodgy (great service!)

I cannot say enough about how perfect our experience was here! First off, the location was absolutely gorgeous. The open-air hotel lobby and lounge spaces were gorgeous and very modern. Once we got to the outdoor restaurant, the location there was beautiful also! Perfectly situated by the pool and we arrived right as the sun was setting. Second, we were pleasantly surprised that there was beautiful live music. We loved the artist! (see video) She greatly contributed to a wonderful ambiance. The restaurant was expensive, but we were more than happy to pay for the pleasant experience of being there. I tend to not eat meat, so I ordered the mushroom cauliflower bolognese (made with cauliflower and mushrooms instead of beef). I didn’t particularly like it because of the oregano, but that was definitely on me and not the restaurant. I stole some of my aunt’s lobster mac and cheese and my gosh it was fantastic!!

If you have more than 3 people you should try to fresh fish (we had kona kampachi) see pictures. Freaking mad delicious with rum based Mai tais, sangria and espresso martinis. Excellent service from Corrie.

First of all, the resort is grand and impressive. Dinner was amazing. Great food, atmosphere, and service. The complimentary rolls, octopus salad, shrimp pizza, squid ink pasta with prawns, local catch fish, ice cream/sorbet. Parking was valet and dinner gets you 3hr of validated parking.

I think it's the best restaurant in Hawaii. Poke nacho is especially great. The luxurious atmosphere and dedicated staff make the restaurant more valuable. You can do valet parking at the entrance of the hotel, and you can get a parking ticket approved by the restaurant staff.

Beautiful setting in a gorgeous resort. Very pricey but that is to be expected! Comes with excellent service, food, and sunset viewing. Good live music as well, make sure to ask if Keoni Thompson will be playing, he's an excellent local Big Island artist.

This place was pure magic to me. The food was incredible, down to the fruit and drinks. The ambiance was a dream. Pretty birds flying in and out, stunning plants surrounding, and lovely simple decor. I hope to go back!!

The best part about this place is the service and the atmosphere, the restaurant is located inside the resort, the service is top notch, they made you feel special even thought I didn’t stay there. The food is okay, ordered the mix green salad (average), prawns on the side (average) Brussels sprouts (below average), lobster Mac and cheese (very good). The beach is amazing, they let us walk around the resort it is so beautiful, would definitely come back and stay here next time.

This place was truly so beautiful. We were at the Mauna Lani Resort for a week and we only made it to breakfast in person once but I’m so glad we went. I got the French toast and my wife got waffles and oh my goodness they were so amazing, I ended up getting French toast like, five times the rest of the week.. it was that good. We also tried the guava juice and it was delicious. I loved being able to watch people outside while we ate, and the staff was so courteous and kind and helpful. We ordered room service a few times with food from here, like hot dogs, burgers. grilled chicken, cesar salads, fish and chips , steak frites, and a few others. Everything was really good.

I had food poisoning from the ceviche. The restaurant manager questioned me by saying I looked like I “was doing fine” the day after being sick through out the night. He did not offer to comp my meal. He did not offer anything to help besides his skepticism. Extremely disappointed with the customer service I received.

The Ube Pina Colada is a MUST try, do not miss this drink, and in a paradise where you will find many variationsof a Mai Tai, Ha Bar has got a signature staple that was unrivaled in my time in Hawaii. You have to try the Lobster Mac and Cheese. This is an incredibly delicious dish. You cannot go wrong with the Seasonal Catch option, octopus for our evening and it was grilled to perfection. Our waitress also brought us a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Cannot recommend this place enough. I wish we had been able to book our stay in Hawaii here instead! Will try next time

Wasn't the experience we were hoping for. My cocktail took an extremely amount of time to get to me. After watching numerous guests walk up to the bar to order drinks and walk off with them and still mine was no where to be seen I asked a 2nd staff member where it was. Anyway after 25 min I had my watered down cocktail. Our waiter was very kind and apologetic. He made me a fresh cocktail which I appreciated. Dinner.. my husband had the pork Chop and I had the truffle crusted short rib. This was a new menu change which I think they missed the boat on. The mashed potatoes were not a Jalepeno Mash and as a person who loves and cooks with truffle, there was zero hints of truffle. This location is absolutely gorgeous but the product was lacking.

Excellent food and drink service in a chill atmosphere. Live music was a great addition.
