I went to Onyx for the first time today and Suzy did a great job! I made an appointment online easily. She was thorough, had light conversation, and I felt no pain. I’m glad to have found a dependable place for dip! Everyone was friendly and the salon is beautiful.

It was a great experience they were very nice and professional, all though I don't have a lot to go off of when it comes to nails. My wife has me covered and said she was happy with the overall experience and color of her nails and the service. Follow me to stay updated with some of the best foods and trend's around the islands. I scheduled an appointment for me & my husband on his birthday. I called to let them know I was 5 minutes behind as usual Hawaii unpredictable traffic. When I arrived, the front desk bias attitude women told us that since we were over the time she had to cancel our appointment. She could have told me when I called to let her know I was 5 minutes behind, but she is privileged in her mind so no one deserves consideration not even a new customer, so it was perfectly ok to waste our time. The location was extremely empty and stinks very bad, even with a mask on. In fact I would report them to the health department because I never smell any similar location so intoxicating with just one customer inside. It smells like a gas station, kerosine and old smoke all together. It is empty for a good reason and their bias & unprofessional customer service for a place in an ordinary location and not pretty plus unhealthy smell, shouldn’t act like everyone is below them. My husband and I goes to a location for years that will never rejected us & we should stick with them than some mediocre business. There is no Aloha there & Hawaiians deserve more than some business that think they are more privileged than the world.

I’m very disappointed because to write my review I have to give it a star. For my birthday my daughter gave me a gift certificate of a $100 for my pedicure. She have been Natasha’s client for almost three years and never have any inconvenience with her. And myself also have been having my pedicure there with any unconvinced until recently: We booked an appointment for two pedicure on October 7. They called us to change the time twice the same day and we decide it to cancelled it. Then we make another appointment for two pedicure (my daughter and me) for today at 2pm. When we were parking on front of Ónix fifteen minutes before our appointment the receptionist called my daughter to change the appointment time for one hour later. We got off the car and asked the receptionist if there were both appointments change for 3pm. She realized that we were mother and daughter together and she told us that the only way for us to have our pedicures is one at 2pm and the other one at 3pm. We were very disappointed so we cancelled again. Then I called asking for the manager because after those two cancellations without even an apology I want to cancel my Gift Certificate and have my daughters money back and she told me the manager was not there and that the Gift Certificates are final sale that I can’t have her money back. So I left a message to the manager to call me back and I will be calling every day until I talk to the person in charge, and I hope the person who I speak with have a little empathy for this situation.

This is a new found gem for my pedicures! Prices are reasonable, service is great and I have gotten the fun Disney nail art I dreamed of! Thank you Onyx Nails & Wax. I have worked with 2 nail technicians and 1 person for eyebrow waxing and everyone was very professional and thorough. This place is conveniently located for me- right in Makakilo. Parking is plentiful & free. Online booking is available and all prices are listed on the website but I usually book when I pop by in person since I go to that shopping center often. Try the Don't Be Jelly pedicure- so much fun 😄!

UPDATE: Spoke with Jordan, the manager, who apologized and advised the tech I was booked with that day was new and is actually no longer employed at the shop. UPDATE: had a terrible second experience. The tech nicked my cuticle, which I felt but didn’t get a good look at until I left, when I realized it was actively bleeding. Polish does not look good. I’m regretting my choice of booking with a random tech based on my convenience for a specific time. I asked him when I sat down specifically for no massage because I have a screw in my foot from a surgery. I had to stop him as soon as he started doing a massage, roughest pedicure I’ve ever had. He was on his phone the duration of my time there; I could hear him talking and then realized he had an AirPod/earbud in and was low-talking off and on; maybe he was listening to music singing along, maybe he was talking to himself, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that, but not the rest. If this had been my first trip here, I’d never go back. First time here and I really liked this spot! You can book an appointment online, and they were exactly on time - no waiting! Taylor did my pedicure and manicure, helped me find the perfect color. Super clean, relaxing, I’ll be back!

First time, great location with plenty of free parking. Made an appointment online and picked my services. Easy check in and they were on time for my appointment. Shaye was my Nail Technician and she was great, super thorough, and kind. Asked her for nail designs and she surprised me with a beautiful flower design. So pretty! Can't wait for my next visit!
