One of the busiest and bit expensive food street of Karachi, where you can feel the essence of Karachi's food culture. From KFC to the last point of this food street fried chicken, Biryani, Nihari, Haleem, Shuwarma, handi, Desserts, ice creams, Shakes and other hundreds of items. I know this food street by cafe frontier who can produce the best taste of mutton Karhai . Prices can vari place to place here, parking can be an issue here. And an ♿ Accessibility-friendly place for everyone.

Had halwa puri at Dera restaurant, boat basin. The experience was good in terms of food. Arabic paratha and chicken cheese paratha were both yummy. Halwa puri was just like we have from everywhere, nothing special about it. The only downside of the breakfast was outdoor dining. By 11 to 11.30 am, the weather was too hot and we asked them to shift us to indoor dining area. But since we had placed an order, they refused and it was unprofessional. They could've showed a big flexibility on that. We were ready for waiting as well. Anyways, a good one-time experience.

Great food options, worst parking situation. Pricing of restaurants have gone significantly up in last few years to match that of Kolachi, but the quality and service remains under par. Few new additions to the area which is a good initiative

Explored the food street, and while parking proved somewhat challenging, the presence of beggars was noticeable. The street offers plenty of food options, albeit at slightly higher prices. However, improvements are needed in terms of cleanliness. Despite these drawbacks, it remains a diverse spot for food enthusiasts.

So I had a craving for halwa poori. And we decided for Dera but I was so disappointed by the quality they're serving. The other places are way more better. Didn't really like the bhaji and cholay that they served us. Also we ordered sweet lassi and we were served namkeen one. Not going there again. The paratha was nice though. So if you want chai paratha it's good but for halwa poori, it's a no no. The food that we ordered at night was better.

Highly over rated place. The food was ok, service was mediocre, but the bill was the worst thing. Atmosphere's like you're sitting on the road. The people tend to bump in their cars into the laid out tables n chairs. We were only two persons, but we were charged Rs 5200/-, which makes it 2600/- per head. A really funny price of a corner good. I'll advise, not to visit the Boat Basin. It's actually a hoax of a food street.

Boat basin in Clifton Karachi is one of the oldest wearing places in Karachi. It has many different shops offering almost every kind of Pakistani and continental food. You can buy anything from bbq to karahi to broast to pizza. Icecream and shakes are also available. Government is thinking of making it a proper food Street by making it a one way for traffic and building area for increased seating. Most of this restaurant here also deliver and have there branches in different parts of the city. Food can be enjoyed indoors in the cars or in the outdoors

Whoever is in charge of the boat basin food area has really made serious efforts to fix this area. The ring road has been repaired and its layered with pavers instead of asphalt - making it comfortable to drive and walk. It also looks more premium. the restaurants are more or less the same - the way the servers reach out to cars passing by is still the same - and likely will remain the same in the future

Boat Basin is basically a Food Street, having variety of restaurants, fast food shops, Hi- Tea options etc. Every Restaurant has a different taste. Over all a good spot for family, group and individual for variety of foods.

Breakfast time and tried dine-in traditional halwa puri with chana, alu bhaji, plain paratha and tea. Clean environment, multiple sitting choices (air condition hall, table chair or can enjoy traditional sittings with resting pillows. It was not weekend so the place was not too much crowded most of the families were enjoying the cloudy day breakfast at Dera. No issue with the parking, parking charges Rs. 50. The good thing was no baggers circular around our tables. We order crispy puri and it was great, chana and alu bhaji was also good. Refill for chana with extra charges of Rs 100. Halwa Rs. 100 Plain paratha Rs. 70 Puri each Rs. 40 (reasonable mid size puri) Extra chana Rs. 100 Tea in disposable cups Rs. 70 Regular returnable glass cold drink Rs. 50 All included sales tax 13% Overall good experience.

Most lucratively profitable food street businesses. Always crowded, with food lovers. The whole area is otherwise full of filth and poor sanitation. Zero public facilities, improper disorganised, broken commuting walkway. Public toilets don't exist. Foul smell of gutter stench. Failed Garbage disposal network. Although some restaurants offer fresh tasteful food but lack of hygiene is very obvious. Abundant smoke, high pollution. Parking is too random and unorganized causing problems driving though. Zero, beautification and absence of small trees or plants or vegetation. The area needs a massive lift up through planners.

The place is good but it should be more focused to improve the infrastructure, need more security and environment for families, must be kept clean and maintained, no life saving support avaliable that's the proliority to be provided to name as a beach, we can earn a lot from these places if properly maintained and organized.

It was the first time I had my iftar at boat basin. I was a bit late but yeah few restaurants were loaded with customers. We sat at dera...it was a wonderful evening. We were served juice and khajoor to break our fast and the food was really very tasty. We ordered white chicken karahi, special platter by Dera which had pulao and kababs, along with garam garam naan and coldrinks. We were four people but the serving was enough for around 6 people....we just loved it

We went to Balochi Sajji & Koyla Karahi restaurant at Boat Basin which is an OK place to dine out with your family and friends. Both indoor and outdoor seating is available. During the day, it's highly recommended to eat inside due to excessive heat, noise, traffic, and pollution but at night you can enjoy outdoor dining in fresh air with less noise. Self parking is available on the street nearby. Their menu is quite extensive with almost all common and popular dishes available. We had ordered chicken tikkas and beef gola kababs with naans and parathas. The food was served after a reasonable wait and it was hot and fresh. Parathas were the best you can find anywhere; very fresh and crispy with no oil dripping. Normally when you get parathas at most places, they're all stuck together with oil and moisture or fried to the extent that when you hold it in your hand, it just crumbles but not here. You enjoy the real taste of classic old fashioned excellent parathas to go with your favorite bbq item. Beef gola kababs were good, too, but the chicken tikkas really disappointed much. I don't know what size of chicken do they serve here because the size of the Tikka was very small and after taking just a few normal size bites, it's all gone. Normally you expect a tikka to be large enough with enough meat to fill you up. It was way over priced, too; one tikka costing 380 each.

Boat Basin Food Street is a popular food street in Karachi, Pakistan. It has a variety of food options ranging from pure South Asian cuisine (dosa, thali, nihari, karahi, biryani etc) to Italian (pasta n pizza etc) along with some really good fast food joints (local n international). It is a must-visit for foodies and has become one of the most visited food streets in recent years1. Visitors can find all kinds of food at this street and most popular boat basin and you can find good food of different countries so do not worry about the variety2. The area is spread over 200 - 300 meters and has small restaurants for varying tastes1. Halwa puri breakfast here is famous among locals!

I love Boat Basin food street! It's a totally amazing experience. Been going there since I was a kid. Now in my 40s, it still has that magic that keeps you drawing back to the place. It's not only the variety of food, but the whole atmosphere itself. People chilling out after a hard day's work and kids having a good time. It's a wonderful place to hang out with family and friends. This is my son in the picture.

Bustling place. A food street where all types of cuisine is available. Safe place for families , women who eat out in groups, teanagers to hang out. Waiters are generally courteous and supportive. However, like you have to be careful for menu prices and balance calculation. Always call for the menu to order and check bill that same price and quantity as ordered is listed. Furthermore, if you are a foreigner than try ordering mainstream items rather than exotic specialty stuff to avoid risk of tummy trouble. I rated four stars because the standard for hygiene is not reliable.

In the south side of the city, on the way if going to the beach of Clifton, this is the most famous food street of Karachi, Along with some international food chain frenchiese, Traditional, Western and Asian food is available. From break fast till dinner and supper a large variety of delicious food you can taste here. Some individuals do their business in evening only. Price range is little expensive here, but the environment at night is awesome here.

A cozy place to eat any time of the day. Beware of over billing, always check rates from menu initially and confirm rate and quantity while paying bill.

  • 5/5 M. F. 4 years ago on Google
Amazing atmosphere. Good food. It's very crowded, however. The atmosphere is good for people who like hustle bustle and a lot of people around. On the other hand, if you like quiet and serenity then this might not be your cup of tea. Overall it's a good experience of your group is large and loud in itself, as you'll fit in nicely and won't have to hold back on any laughter and fun conversations. There's not much issue or privacy either despite an atmosphere full of people. The seating is also nice and gives a traditional vibe.

Cool inn, Roll inn, KFC, Subway, to name a few, are some of the best you can choose to satiate your hungry palette. Baloch ice cream has some lip smacking Kashmiri chai. Hygiene in the rest of the street/baithak style restaurants is highly questionable which gives me no reason to dine in them. But the ones mentioned above are quite fine in all aspects hygiene inclusive.
