It is a lovely place to spend some me time or spend some quality time with friends. Everything about the place was perfect except the services. I waited for like 1 and a half hour for my tea and cheese paratha. The entry fees is 100. Which is fine. You can spend hours there. Daily activities with unique ideas is a plus. I loved the environment.

TDF Ghar is a hidden gem in Karachi. What a wonderful idea to preserve 90s living style. Floors of the house are most beautiful thing. Cafe concept is also very catching. Vintage TV, Gramophone, Tape Recorders, Radios add a real nice value to the place. Just Rs 100 entry fee. Free street Parking. Mazar e Quaid view at the roof is so attractive and a must-click place. Overall very refreshing experience.

Serene, calm and peaceful place decorated with some antique items, books and a rooftop snackbar cum light meals. The view of Mazar e Quaid is awesome specially in night. So rare in Karachi.

It’s been on my To Do List for quite some time, but we never got a chance to visit. Finally, went there for evening tea and totally loved the ambiance and food. Definitely worth going again! 10/10

Love the retro ambiance, and the place overall is very well recreated. There is slight token money for entry, and inside you get to see the old 70's environment, a cool cafe, mini theater showing documentaries and a roof top for music and recreational activities. Must visit with family.

The best part about visiting TDF Ghar is that you feel the soul of Karachi dating back to 1920s. This place connects you to how people used to live in this city of lights back during the British Raj and soon after independence. I could feel my soul when I visited this place in particular. It offers a great view with the veranda, stairs, mosaic tile work, pictures, dressing table, chess board all dating back to pre partition times. Even though the rooftop offers a beautiful view of Quaids mawsoleum, the food is not up to the mark. The only thing we really liked was pizza paratha. A must try if you are visiting this place.

Soothing place to go for studying, work or just some quality time. You may not feel the same if you can't bear traffic noise though. Apart from that everything is amazing about this place. The nostalgic feeling, and the environment.

It is a nice and perfect place for those who like to visit heritage sites, they preserve things well, their roof top place is very beautiful to eat, overall clean and feelingfull place. The place is a bit noisy as it is situated on the busiest route of karachi. Food and pricing is fine. I've tried their. Makhni handi. 8.5 out of 10 (it would give more score but oil) Dam Kabab. 9 out of 10 Loaded french fries. 7 out of 10 Shikanjabeen. 8 out of 10 Staff are nice, cooperative and humble. Entry 100rp each. First floor musme entry 100rp each.

A unique place with vintage vibes having lots of old karachi memories. Place is good for remote work, group studies and also quick munch on their rooftop. The only downside is the noise of traffic, but thats part of the vibe.

Retaining the history and heritage of Karachi, The Dawood Foundation restored and renovated a 1930’s house (Ghar in Urdu). TDF Ghar is open to public with an aim to promote informal learning spaces in Karachi. It is a platform where people from all ethnicities can come together to share their culture and indulge in discussions about science and arts. TDF Ghar is a tribute to this city. With a view of the Mazar-e-Quaid and original hand-crafted tiles, Hajiani Hanifa Bai’s 1930s home is an enchanting sanctuary in the heart of old Karachi’s Jamshed Quarters. The home retains its heritage features, but has been transformed into a public space, to re-live the true spirit of residents of this old cosmopolitan city. Shahab Ghani & Associates volunteered to assist TDF in restoring TDF Ghar as part of their contribution to the city. TDF Ghar is based on a self-sustainability business model. The revenue generated through rentals and tickets is re-invested in the upkeep and development of the Ghar.

Interesting place structured in 3 floors. On the basement there were some items and games which were related with Pakistan plus a nice Cafeteria. On the second floor there was a old small library and some nice photographic shots of Pakistan. On the third floor there was one of the most beautiful view in Karachi.

Such a beautiful place this is. Cozy rooftop with a beautiful view of Mizar e Quaid. We had a lovely time enjoying sandwiches with chai. Chai was below average but sandwiches were good. Mini library was a good. There’s also a co working space inside the library which is great. Overall amazing experience. Highly recommended.

I fell in love with this place. Reminded me of our ancestors home back in the 90s. The place is beautifully maintained. You can walk through old times. At the top, there is sitting arrangement where you can enjoy city views and get the magnificent view of The Quaid’s tomb. Worth a visit if in Karachi. The entry fee is PKR 50 per person.

TDF Ghar is amazing place for owned by Dawood Founndation and very well maintained house with older structure and colorful tiles on the floor. It's attarct from the outside due to its architecture. There is entry of Rs.50/= for each person which is reasonable for this lovely and informative place. This place just opposite to Quaide Azam Mazar near Numaish and Soldier Bazar. This place has attraction for every member of the family as well. You can visit with kids for kids it will be educational trip for them because there are lot things they don't even know but find here at TDF old people recognise and memories their time when they use these unique items like old telephone, typewriter, radio etc. There is outdoor place for sitting where you can meeting people study and enjoy with doodh Patti and menu of the day. On first floor there is a library and study rooms where students comes and study on top floor there is open sitting area and restaurant where you can njoy your meal with your family aamd take a view of Quaid Mazar. It's open from 10 am to 10 pm except Monday. So you can visit between 10 am 10 pm all days except Monday.

On a rainy day! For ages I had been planning to visit this place, I always wanted my students to accompany me...but for some reasons it didn't happen. So the entry fee is Rs 100/- I thought it won't be very crowded but when I entered in there was no space for me to sit even...haha so yeah girls and boys are making good use of this place. There were number of students in the library corner as well...

The Dawood Foundation Ghar, famously known as TDF Ghar, is a calm and tranquil place in the middle of the city. It was built in the 1930s. It has a small library, cafe and a sort of museum to display items once in the use of the building’s owners. It is a well-kept place. I wish other historical places of this city should also be maintained like this.

A great place to spend your evenings at. It is a heritage building preserved by The Dawood Foundation. A Parsi styled architecture building being used primarily as a cafe but also featuring a library and a museum. Food is also of good quality. The best thing about this place is the roof top view of Quaid's mousoleum.

While on my visit to Karachi I was recommended by a friend to visit TDF Ghar and it was such a pleasant experience. The beautiful house overlooks Mazar e Quaid from the rooftop and has a stunning view. The architecture of the house takes you back in time. They also have a cafe which serves chai and some food items in a very affordable price. Great initiative to keep history alive and have a throwback to the glorious days of Karachi.

Clean and spacious. There was an entry fee of Rs.50. There were games like carrom and chess to play as well as a library. Its a good place to come and study or work. The rooftop was a little bit of a letdown because of the plastic seats and tables but the view was breathtaking.

TDF Ghar it's a 1930s house invites you to spend an evening in peace and relaxation. 🌸 The beauty and aesthetic of this place is admirable. I fell in love with this place. The place is beautifully maintained. You can walk through old times. There is a seating area at the top where you can enjoy city views and a stunning view of the tomb of The Quaid. View of the roof is a plus. ❤ Despite the fact that I am not a history person, walking inside makes my evening. The interior creates a welcoming atmosphere right away. Perfect place for Me Time. ✨❤ A must-see destination at least once every quarter to detox the mind. 🍁 If you're in Karachi, you can pay it a visit. 💕 Entry charges per person Rs. 50

From pictures it seemed like a huge house like a palace or Haveli. Although it is a big house but not that big. It has been maintained well. The best thing that I liked there was the old machines like gramophone, different typewriters, radios, TVs etc. Some old furniture was also there. To watch a cycle rickshaw was also a nice experience. On the first floor there is an exhibition. But in the name of the exhibition they give some info about the old Karachi and especially about the plaque that hit Karachi in about 1920. The ticket per person was 100. There was a separate ticket for the exhibition. A restaurant is also present there on the ground floor. On the roof top you can have a very nice view of Mizar-e-Quaid. Overall it was a good experience. Especially for the kids who saw these outdated machines for the first time.

This was the best experience of my life. It almost took me back in time when we were getting independence from British India. I love the decorations and the antique gadgets that they have. I wish that more places like these should be build in Karachi so that the new generation could learn more about the history. More over their chef is the best, it looked like that i was eating a homemade lunch. I suggest people to do visit this place.

Such a lovely place, great decor and old Karachi vibes. It’s a mini museum with old furniture, collectibles and equipments like rotary phone, radios, gramophone, television etc. The place is nicely lit and has a wonderful view of Quaid-e-Azam mazar from the roof. A small restaurant which offers fast food and desi cuisine along with really good chai and amazing matka kulfi. Entry is rs. 50 but it’s worth it. The library is full of books which can be exchanged with any other book that you bring in.

A very interesting place that takes you back in time to the Karachi of early 1900s. This is a house that has all the furnishing and fixtures from back in the days, with huge display of old pictures. The place is for Families Only and there is a Rs. 100/person entrance fee. It’s a 2 story building while the rooftop is on 3rd floor is an open rooftop with cafe seating. It’s an old house, so narrow stairways and long steps. The ground floor has a lot of artifacts and common household items put up as display. Plus there is a huge collection of photographs hanging on the walls throughout the house from as early as the 1900’s of Karachi, the city, and it’s landmarks. The pictures really give you a great perspective on the history and development of Karachi as a metropolis. The first floor has paintings of the city and some more artifacts from the yesteryears, along with a documentary viewing room. The second floor has an open rooftop with table and chairs along with a nice view of Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum (Mazar e Quaid). As for the food, this is more of a snack place. Their core items are also Chaat, Bun Kebab, Paratha etc. The service was extremely slow, close to poor. The snacks were good, but pretty bland for Karachi style. There is free street parking adjacent to the house but onwards there is a residential area so during rush hours parking might get tougher. Also as of August 2023 there is some road work happening around the area so getting to the place is slightly tricky.

Amazing place to see complete picture of old Karachi right from history to all the stuff that was ised in old houses like gramophone, lantern, hookah etc. They have exhibition rooms as well. The time when I visited, exhibition of Karachi sea port was displayed which was amazing. Cherry on top is the delicious food in their cafeteria. Taste is just like home made food. Entry tickets and food cost is reasonable 😊😊😊

Second if you are allowing school students to visit this place please at least arrange water dispenser for students. Third and last is eatables are quite expensive please bring it normal range. Thank you 🙂

Clean and spotless as always. I found the outdoor cafe space full, virtually every seat taken. My order arrived incomplete (albeit, with hat Did arrive was very well made), and it took two further reminders for my tea to arrive. An over 40 minute wait, and it was the wrong type. However, I'm not going to quibble. Just ensure the wailers are reminded to WRITE everything down.

I fell in love with this place. Reminded me of our ancestor's home back in the 90s. Amidst all the chaos of Karachi, TDF Ghar invites you to a calm relaxing evening. It's a 1930's restored and renovated house and sort of a time machine that takes you back to the era gone by and gives you a retro feel with a cycle rickshaw at the entrance and the old-style verandahs. The ambiance of the place is very peaceful, despite 150-200 visitors a day, the place is very well maintained. There is a library on the 1st floor with a 'Leave a book and Take a book' policy. This house is a tribute to the old architect and a window to old times. The handcrafted tiles and high ceiling, old-style fans, vintage door locks, beautiful thick wood furniture, and a monochrome TV looked very fascinating. There is a stunning view of Mazar e Quaid from the rooftop and a cafe on the ground floor so you are never going back without partying with the people you came with. Ps: I fell in love with this place. Reminded me of our ancestor's home back in the 90s. and the most important thing

The Dawood Foundation ( TDF ) has renovated this house , which was built in 1930. It represents the living style of that era. Located in Catholic Colony , Soldier Bazar area , Karachi , this place has got a significant importance in presenting the architectural goodness of old Karachi houses. It may be called a type of museum which has many antique and traditional items on display. Indeed this is one of the place to visit and get the knowledge about the history of Karachi.

It was very nice and refreshing to see pictorial memories of Karachi dating back to approx 1800 AD. Old devices like printers, telephone sets were placed. Roof top cafe was nice but expensive. Entrance ticket was 100/- per adult

If you're new to Karachi, or a tourist, definitely visit this place to get a good experience of Karachi life, culture and history. If you're a student or someone who wants to work or be in a quiet space without spending a lot of money, this is really good. The food is decent too. Definitely need more spaces like these in Karachi. The ambience is absolutely beautiful at night. Great for Instagram too.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely place in (Khi). The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in (TDF ghar). I enjoyed alot with my favorite person.Highly recommend!

Was coming back from university and made sudden plan to visit TDF, entrance charges were only 100rs everything was free inside except for food(there is a roof top sitting and food area) also a small minimal restaurant on I guess second floor and yes there was some extra exhibition going on too, charges were separate for exhibition but only 100rs again, good experience as I'm history and culture lover, and I think they should add some more things too it was a bit boring but food distracted me from boryat👀
