I like these atmosphere of the University. It's very studious. But extra curriculum activities are very less. They should add fun competitions and make the University life interesting for students

Dow Medical College (DMC) has a long and rich history that dates back to 1881 when it was founded as a medical school in Hyderabad by Dr. Homestead. In 1945, the school was relocated to Karachi and was renamed Dow Medical College in honor of Sir Hugh Dow, the Governor of Sindh at the time. The College was initially affiliated with the University of Bombay, but after the creation of Pakistan in 1947, it became affiliated with Sindh University at Karachi. Later, in 1951, it was affiliated with Karachi University. The College was established with the support of Dr. Hemandas R. Wadhwani, the Minister of Public Health and Medicine of Sindh Government, who took a keen interest in its establishment. The College was initially housed in the old N.J.V. High School Building in Karachi, and later, a new building was constructed within the premises of the School. The Civil Hospital was attached to the College as the teaching hospital, and it has remained affiliated with the hospital ever since. Over the years, the College has undergone many additions and improvements, and today, it is a full-fledged institution offering both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. It is one of the largest medical institutions in Pakistan, with all departments manned by qualified and experienced staff. In December 2003, Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) was established, and Dow Medical College became one of its three constituent institutions. DUHS is a premier institute offering undergraduate education in MBBS and BDS, with a strong emphasis on medical, biomedical sciences, public health, allied health sciences, and business management programs. The University has one main campus and another sub-campus located in Karachi. The School of Postgraduate Studies at DUHS offers postgraduate and doctoral programs in almost all academic disciplines related to the biomedical and health sciences. DUHS also offers clinical diplomas in 13 specialties, Masters/MS/MPhil and Ph.D. programs in 32 different specialties, including Master of Advanced Physiotherapy, Masters in Nursing, Master of Business Administration, and 18 specialties of the biomedical and basic sciences at the MPhil level. The flagship MBBS program is offered through Dow International Medical College, which caters to international students or overseas sponsored students. The University is accredited by the CPSP for FCPS training in 29 different specialties. DUHS has 17 schools, colleges, and institutes, including nine clinical entities, and 25 other non-academic, administrative departments. The University is known for its exceptional teaching and facilities, with many students clearing examinations of foreign countries and going on to work abroad. The University is also praised for providing opportunities for people to access international and modern level education. Overall, Dow Medical College and Dow University of Health Sciences are highly regarded institutions in Pakistan, offering world-class education and training in the medical and health sciences. Although is crowded, and parking can be a challenge, the quality of education and facilities at the University is top-notch, and it comes highly recommended by many.

I never expected such a university to be cheating their own students. What you have done with the BDS students is appalling. You have ruined the lives of such students, didn't even refund the money even after being convicted for cheating the students. Shame on you!

It was really so amazing and fantastic. So far as it is the best medical college in the Sindh in the same way cleanliness and arrangements was excellent as well. Moreover I liked the location as well being in Saddar. There was a test for trainee pharmacists today so I attended that and capture some photos as well. But I didn't make any friends bcz I'm new here and don't know about cities ppls cultures etc as well. Overall my experience there was good 🙂

I m taking services from this hospital cum trainig centre and spent about 2000000 for my diagnoses and treatmeny i had visited several times in opd, emergeny, and admited one time but bcz of my nearet hospita and large scale hospital i choose this but in last six year they are not diagnosed nor treat. Doctors are not interested to treat any one their aim is only that join the dow and take stars on their profile i meet many of consultants like Hafiz ullah sheikh, Dr Zahid Azam, and Dr Fakhar in gestro department, they refered me to GS and there my intro with Dr Abdul Khalq Allah Wala, Dr Fahim, and Dr Faisal Ghani in general surgery, after that they refered me to some gp and played like a football issue is that there is no machanism of patient ananlisig and suggetion doctors are not loyal from the hospital. I suggest to the government that dont play the lives of poor peoples. If they want to prove my words go there as mistory visitor or patient and see there own. I will not recomment to any one for this hospital. Pray for Pakistan

Good hospital and clean, but the service staffs are pathetic........ they don't follow proper number sequence to call you for your turn. Instead they keep asking others in sequence and will skip until you really push them to get you in..., VERY PATHETIC EXPERIENCE!!

My 1st experience with duhs at suparco. Amazing services. My son had acute appendicitis. Starting from trauma center till his discharge excellent service. Doctors at emergency handled case quickly. CT scan, blood test (so many), xray, ultrasound all done fast and results were available in few hours. OT area and corridor was great. Dr. Summaya, Dr. Mujeeb ur Rehman and whole surgery team, para medical staff post operation did super job. They satisfied me and answered all questions. Cleaning staff was also Co operative. Cleaning was good. Only disappointment admission, billing staff. They seems to be above all. Hospital administration must educate them how to behave. Another thing is if one person is not available in admission nobody takes over his or her job. Work must go on if someone is not available.

Don't expect a parking here, preferably come by rickshaw and take the straight routes only. Dow Medical College, DUHS itself is a wonderful place.

They are very irresponsible . They are playing with the future of bright students. There are too many wrong keys in mdact paper 2023(reconduct) but they didn't correct it . And also don't care about the leak paper 😞 very disappointed but at the day of judgment Allah will punish them who are responsible for this corruption .

👍👍 Good atmosphere, delicious shawrma,, best green tea served with honey and lemon. In winters, they also place coal heaters around you which makes atmosphere lovely and cold sea breeze bearable. Have been there multiple times and never disappointed with quality and taste. Highly recommended.
