From many years my family was dining in at purohit cafe for South Indian food but last month we visited Aravindham and that day we decided from now onwards this is going to be our forever place. The pure authentic South Indian taste and the freshness of everything is just perfect. Idlis are so fluffy and well cooked, staff is super polite and their filter coffee is to die for. Best South Indian food in Udaipur.

It's a new chennai based south Indian place, Went there for a weekend dinner with my spouse. We ordered the tiffin meal, their speciality Dosa and a filter kaapi. The place was like a canteen with basic furniture setup not crowded on weekends. Service was prompt. The food was good, dosa texture could be crispier and thicker. Sambhar and chutneys tasted good. Idli and vada were properly cooked. Kesari bath was slightly overcooked and had smoky bitter taste. Kaapi was good. Pricing was slightly higher for such a place. But might visit again and hope they refine their taste next time.

A completely vegetarian South Indian restaurant. The seating space is small and there are only a few seats available, but the cuisine is delicious and reasonably priced. The filter coffee was fantastic. Because the restaurant is in the basement, it is difficult to find. The service is quick.

The place gives normal, family place vibes. The food here is exquisite, the taste is as close to authenticity as it can get to South Indian cuisine. The masala dosa and mysore masala dosa were flavourful, the idli and podi idli were excellent in texture and taste & tried the chennai thali and every single piece of item on that plate was delicious. At the end we had filter coffee and it was refreshing. Overall this place is a must try for South Indian cuisine lovers.

Food was really really good. Everything was really fresh and we were so happy to find an authentic South Indian restaurant in Udaipur,Rajasthan. We had ordered Vada ,Idli, plain roast, curd rice and filter coffee. Everything was perfect. After a long tour through Rajasthan we were craving South Indian food and finally got to know about this place. I highly recommend this to everyone.

We went there to have South Indian as the near by outlet Purohit cafe was closed. We had rice rasm , mysore masala dosa and mini ghee podi idli. Rice rasm and dosa was fine. Idli was tasteless . There was no salt and even gun powder taste felt bland. When we asked if there is something missing they said this dish goes like that only.

Tasty and affordable food. Cordial staff and good hygiene. We ordered- 1. South Indian Combo 5/5 Which consisted- 1 small dosa 1 Idli with sambhar 1 Vada 1 portion upma 1 portion suji ka halwa 1 drink (tea/ coffee/ nanari) It was of Rs. 165 which is absolutely a value for money. (Highly recommend) 2. Parotta with Kurma 4.7/5 It was yet another mouthwatering dish. The parottas were crispy and were loaded with ghee. They tasted amazing. 3. Masala dosa 4.5/5 Again, tasty and crispy. We paid Rs. 470/- for all these three items.

An authentic south-Indian joint. I was visiting Udaipur, and found this hidden gem. They had great food, and the staff is extremely polite. The taste leans particularly more towards authentic Chennai food. We tried idlis, medu vada, upma, pongal, cheese dosas, kesari bath and idli podi, and had no complains. If you can't make your mind, try the Breakfast platter / thali, it's got one of everything =) It's one of the best experiences we had at Udaipur, and is a very healthy place to eat.

And the buttermilk is to too too too good. ❀️ Would definitely recommend a visit to this place. PS. I ordered some dish once and they sent a cute note with my food. A sweet gesture! πŸ€—

Best south Indian food in Udaipur, trust me it's authentic taste and awesome service is outstanding. I think they added delicious biryani too. Do visit at least once and order anything from the menu. You won't regret it. Filter coffee was less delicious though.

What a great place to have south Indian food, wasn't expecting to find such a place in Udaipur. Dosa was authentic so does the filter coffee. I only didn't quite like that wait time but rest it was all good.

Did not like the taste of food. We lived in Chennai for more than 10 years. We know the proper authentic south indian taste of food. People who are appreciating this place I can say it was not touching even 20 percent of south india. I felt price is also high here. Not happy .

South Indian Food Joints are in abundance in Udaipur. From small roadside Carts to Restaurants, one can find a price suitable place for everyone. The place we are about to review in this post is not a new place but was closed for almost 2 years & have been opened after revamping its name & just the name. Changing From Madras Coffee House to Aravindham Udaipur the place has kept everything same from its Menu to Staff to the taste & quality. They offer a range of South Indian food that is not being offered anywhere in the city. With the familiar dishes like idli, sambhar, dosa etc. they also have rasam, pongal & bhaths. We tried their - South Indian Tiffin - Koorma Poori - Mysore Masala Dosa - Filter Coffee South Indian Tiffin consisted of many dishes in small sizes like Mini Dosa, Idli, Vada, Pongal, Sweet Bhath, Chutneys & Sambhar. Everything was good in taste with Vada & Idli being the star. Then came Koorma Poori, in it there was a mixed Koorma veg, Aloo Palaya & Poori to go with it. The plate was filled with flavours, Poori's were fluffy & Aloo Palaya was buttery smooth, Koorma was also good. Then came Mysore Masala Dosa in which masala was asked seperately, the dosa was layered with spicy chutney & was crisp. The taste was very good, masala, sambhar & chutney's were all balanced in taste. Lastly we ordered Filter Coffee which was really good. We paid for everything except for coffee which was complimentary. The bill came to around INR 400

I reach there accidentally the reason is the famous dosa shop nearby is closed on Monday so we decided to test in aravindam. All South Indian recipes tasty. Up to a mark I ordered two or three items. Taste is good. Rates are moderate. Good service.

I recently eat Chennai South Indian thali. The Prata chapati served was made up of Maida and dip soaked in oil. I wonder if they anything called healthy diet. Earlier I had this thali multiple times in other restaurants, it wasn't that bad.

Due to long waiting in nearby Purohit Cafe, we decided to give it a try to this venue for South Indian food. They claimed their place to be authentic south Indian restaurant. 1. Sitting is very local type 2. Food quality is very poor, specially Sambhar, Chatni and Masala 3. Dosa was cooked pretty raw which for replaced two times They must understand their competitor, that is Purohit Cafe.

The go-to place at Udaipur for authentic South Indian food/breakfast options. No sugar in the sambar was the main winning criterion for us. Kudos to the madurai guy (forgot to ask their name) who runs/manages the place. Must visit if you're from the south, especially Tamil Nadu.

As I am from Chennai, I was surprised that I got the exact taste which I get in restaurants back home. If you are in Udaipur and want to taste south Indian food then you can definitely visit this restaurant. Especially Poori, Vada, Dosa and filter coffee are excellent.

Delicious preparations. Authentic South Indian taste at a very reasonable price . Quick service. One must visit the place to relish the taste of various dishes including idli, dosa, vada, sambhar. Also one gets the e-bill to save paper. Great step to go eco-friendly.
