Overall, our stay was pleasant, but we noticed a few areas that could enhance the experience. The front desk staff could bring a bit more warmth and enthusiasm, as we didn’t feel quite as welcomed as we have in other places. Additionally, adding a few lounge chairs and umbrellas around the pool area would make it much easier for guests to relax and enjoy the space fully.

When ever in Kasane be sure to book at Thebe River Safris. From the reception staff to the camp site is wonderful. Be sure to book n sunset cruise with Shaa as your skipper. Thanks Shaa for making our sunset cruise outstanding you are sure an asset to Thebe.

We had the most delicious supper at Thebe River Lodge and met up with an Old Friend who lives in Kasane. I spread myself all over the table as had lap top phone iPad we were working on various things before our friend arrived. The WiFi was FANTASTIC. After a delicious meal we departed. I left my purse there with Thousands of Rands some where. I discovered it missing the next morning and called on the off chance it had been found. Yes one of the staff had found it and handed in. Lolo kept it safe and I collected it! Every cent was there. Amazing honest. This place is well kept and I cannot recommend it my highly enough. Thank you Lolo also Benny who is our a marvellous man. High Five Thebe River Safari what a well run business!Fabulous Marvellous find.

Good camping ground, the shared toilets were better than in most campings (lovey warm water, clean, not infested my mosquitoes…), and the reception can help you book some activities nearby. The restaurant offers nice food too at decent prices

We had a great experience camping here- campsites seem geared towards larger groups/over landers so we were delighted with how much space we had (number 7) with our own shelter, fire pit, table, and water tap. The shared ablutions were spotless and there are three deep basins for clothes washing outside the ablutions. The reception area had decent WiFi and the receptionists were friendly enough. Located conveniently close to the Shoprite. Camping was 132 pula pppn. We also joined the afternoon river cruise (380pula plus 190 park admission) which was great (lots of amazing wildlife!) except the fact that there were 4 v small noisy children joining our group…. I’m all for some family fun but they did scare/agitate the wildlife, so if you have flexibility, best to go on a different day from a big family with loads of small children.

Thebe River Lodge schould take the Focus on the rather big "Travel Groups" & the South African's, who also come in Groups. For Overlanders rather impersonal. 2 Ablutions is not enough, we had 2 day's cold showers, no light really (one bulb), small Campsites no Braii facilities, no water. It's all about business and far away from being familiar. When full, you wait 2 1/2 hours to get served, and most of it was out of stock!

Well organized and professional. Safe driver and lots of animals to be seen up close!

We stayed in the safari (glamping) tents. Spacious and a little quirky/rustic. The open air semi outdoor shower was fun albeit too cold outside to shower in the morning.

The staff at every part of this accomodation are helpful, friendly and attentive. The rooms are nice. The food is good. The space is lovely. The game drives are river cruises will be seared in my memory for a lifetime.

I camped for the weekend and wow, did I enjoy it - from eating the most delicious pizza and tilapia at the Restaurant to camping close to the river. As a nature lover, I enjoyed every moment. Ablutions were neat and clean. My highlight for the weekend was the river cruise that I booked through Thebe River Safaris - I was amazed that we could come so close to the elephants and other animals. And of course, the birdlife was also so amazing - a birdwatcher's dream!

Our guide was very knowledgeable about the river and I felt safe. Had a wonderful time!!! Truly some of the best rapids out there.

A very nice place to stay whether you are camping or staying in one of their rooms. The rooms are a bit small, but otherwise has all you require for a night's stay. The restaurant/bar has a detailed menu. Staff is very friendly and willing to assist with any query/need.

The receptionists were all very cold, rude and not welcoming at all. The pool was disgusting, so we didn't swim. The water was dark and lots of black stuff at the bottom of the pool. The campsite was badly maintained, particularly BBQ setups. It wasn't that cheap, so I don't know how they can justify the price they charge.

You really don't have to sleep in Kasane to visit the Vic Falls. This place seemed to be a "mass processing site" where many groups stayed overnight. What annoyed us most was that we were assigned a campsite with no grass between the toilets and industry buildings, even though there were many others available. We were only allowed to look for a nicer spot when we asked. Sharing the toilets and showers (even with group guests) was sometimes challenging.

I enjoyed the excursions for safari drives, river cruise, and the campsite. The showers and toilets were the cleanest we had seen on our trip. The restaurant was very slow at lunchtime. Dinner time, they were so much faster. The camp was a great experience , and they can also transfer you to the border and over. They get 5 stars for excursions and transfers.

Campsite was good ans spacious but no shade at all. Guides and staff were friendly. One guide was very good and knowledgeable, the other not so much. Good location and starting point for game drives or self drives into the chobe np

Very good option to stay if you intend to go on safaris or one day trip to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

I'm very disappointed. The key didn't work to unlock the room. We could not open the safe. Had to walk through the campsite to get to the pool.

Really great place to stay when doing safaris, we did one of their river safaris and one of their morning safaris at Chobe national park. The food was really good and the rooms were adequately equipped.

Worst place ever Went to watch a rugby match and have some breakfast but after 10mn we thought of leaving as we were shocked about how useless the staff was. No one welcomed us, we waited 10mn at the table although the staff was sitting behind the bar and we waived at them. When they eventually came, we ordered some coffee. They brought cups, a thermos of hot water, instant coffee in a sachet and milk powder! Food wise, we asked what was available for breakfast and almost nothing was. We asked if it's possible to have the same as the table next to us and the staff replied he doesn't know how did they get their food!! Pure laziness! We'll never set a foot there again

October 2024 We enjoyed our stay. Check in was fast and helpful. Aircons in the rooms struggled with the heat but it was wonderful to have them. Rooms were comfortable enough for an overnight. The Matrasses were very good! Even the camping area looked great. Loved the swimming pool. I could also see Managments upkeeping and refurbishing happening. Please throw out the chipped cups and cracked bowls aswell. Diningroom staff seemded to be in odds with eachother to a point where I can easily say a few of them were very unfriendly. The others tried to make up and did it well. Thank you!!

Disappointing Experience at Thebe We chose to stay at Thebe in Botswana, expecting a peaceful camping experience surrounded by nature and the sounds of wildlife. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but tranquil. Late into the night, a loud party erupted with blaring music, numerous cars (around 10-15) arriving, and what sounded like gunfire or loud explosives. It completely disrupted the serene environment we were looking forward to. When we approached reception to report the disturbance, we were shocked to learn that the chaos was caused by the property’s own directors hosting a party. The staff informed us that they couldn’t address our complaint because the directors were involved. This disregard for paying guests is unacceptable, especially at a place marketed as a peaceful getaway. We felt disrespected and unheard. I would not recommend Thebe to anyone seeking a true camping or nature experience, as it seems management prioritizes their own enjoyment over guest satisfaction.

A wonderful place located right along the Chobe river! Customer service fantastic and rooms have a basic amenities. Maybe a tv could be added to rooms.

Place where to stay just one night. No more than a motel. with no windows in the rooms. Big buses. Crowdy.. Just this is not Africa.

We camped at Thebe River Safaris for 4 nights. The ablutions were clean and well kept. Our 6 year old son enjoyed the comfort of the pool, while we had the luxury of shade from a large tree. Most stands have shade, although not all. There is a restaurant and bar on site with free wifi. Also rooms, although we did not use it. We booked a game drive and river cruise with Thebe river Safaris. The cruise especially stood out. You take your own refreshments and can move around the vessel. Saw plenty of animals. We will be back.

Good and affordable place to sleep in Kasane with all the facilities. All campsides are different from each other with different views / size. It was all ok.

Campsite was huge. There is electricity for the car. Shared bathrooms. Was ok. Receptionist was not really friendly and not helpful. We were asking about a day tour to the vic falls but she were just answering the exact questions in a short unfriendly way. The wifi is ridiculous. It was not working! Sending one picture took 30 Minutes! Pool is also small, no shadow places to relax, no lounger, water was greenish.

Some large campsites, some with washing facilities, some with bomas for cover, lots of trees make some of the sites very private. It's very close to the river (but you can't swim in it) and had a nice swimming pool. I only stayed 3 days, because the site was booked up

Great place to stop overnight, have a very good Indian dinner in Kasane and a cruise on the river.

With only a short drive to a game reserve for a Safari experience, you are near exactly what one goes to a place like this for; nature!

Bucket-list box ticked. Enjoyable but didn't keep us entertained as long as we were expecting it too

I do recommend that you use thebe river camp's river excursions as the local alternatives might be cheaper but will have you waiting for an hour .. Thebe's camp sites are great I think number 14 is the best ine next to the swimming pool and ablution blocks .. overall very friendly staff and would go there again

We were disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm from the front desk staff, we waited quite some time to get attention and had to go looking for some one. We reported the dirty basins at the back of the ablution block, where we were supposed to wash our dishes, nothing happened. The ablution block was full of spider webs and not clean at all, also a lack of hot water for the showers. When we wanted them to help us to phone our Guide, the reception lady said they cant phone out... We also cleaned our camping site from old rubbish, before we set up camp. It is a very well centered camping spot, well shaded and it is sad to see deterioration in quality when everybody needs tourism.
