    Nice resort but coming from Chief's Camp you feel that you're no longer in the bush and much closer to humanity. I'd say to forget about the driving safaris (in this park, rangers are not allowed to drive off the road) and always go with the boat safaris, you see much more wildlife near the river and it is spectacular during sunset. Food was incredible here.

    Chobe Chilwero is a modern day resort along the Chobe river. Not only are the scenes from the resort top notch, the game drives are possibly the best in all of Africa. During our 3 day stay we saw 4 of the Big 5 (Lion, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, and Elephant). Our guide Kux was fantastic and had many personal stories to share about his time growing up in the Delta and as a guide at Chobe. We highly recommend him as well! He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great game viewing experience. Location: A (right next to park entrance and beautiful view of Chobe river) Accommodations: A Food: A Hospitality/Service: A Guides: A Top notch experience and resort!!!

    I did not stay at the lodge, however, my rating relates to experiences in Chobe NP with the vehicles driven by lodge employees. On more than one occasion I was virtually run off of the road by their safari vehicles in their attempt to provide their guests with a better viewing than anyone else. At a wild dog sighting, the Sanctuary Chobe vehicles drove well off of the road (strictly against park rules) to park in front of myself and other self drive visitors of the park, ensuring that we could not enjoy the sighting. The drivers were rude and aggressive and angrily gestured that we should move out of the road so that they could have a good viewing point for their guests. I find this shameful behaviour and I believe that institutions such as this will destroy the safari experience for all.

    Great setup and location with proximity to the river for boat drives. The game drives were also good and full of animals, especially several lion sightings. The tough part for me, and reason for lower rating, was while there I had money stolen from my room. I immediately reported it to their main office and was told they would look into it. After a written account and several days had past they offered me some of the money back, which was a nice gesture, but still far from the amount stolen. I was then told they would review it further and they would get back with me. They waited until I was out of country to tell me I should have reported to the police?!? I reported it to their head office individual, its not like I have a phone to dial Botswana 911? Poorly handling of this theft and lack of trust will have me not going back to Chobe Chilwero again.

    Beautiful resort with first-class service, food, amenities, well-appointed rooms. Loved their make your own pizza lunch. Enjoyed 2 nights here with multiple game drives in Chobe National Park and game rides on Chobe River. Absolutely amazing with ability to get close to animals. Well-experienced tour guides - excellent trackers. Lots of elephants viewed here along with mysterious sable antelope, lions, leopard, antelope, birds. Spa visited for complimentary 10 minute foot massage, pool was chilly but delightful. Baboons gave morning performances climbing under electrified fence or going over it in the trees...entertaining guests with their playfulness. Cute gift shop on site. Resort travel coffee mugs available to take on morning game drives was a really nice touch. Great location with close access to the park and river. Mini-fridge with drinks/tea/coffee in each room. Comfy beds/pillows, large rooms each with seating areas inside and outside of rooms.

    Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is exactly that, a sanctuary. The sunsets on the Chobe river are quite nice to see the bright colours. The mongoose, deer and other wildlife add to the charm of this place. The rooms were gorgeous and comfortable. The game and boat drives were great, we got to see lions take down a buffalo and also saw several elephants and hippos spending much of their day in the water. Beautiful and very relaxing accomodations, also, Chicka was a great guide who showed great respect for all the animals.

    Wow wow wow! What a fantasy!! Where do I begin? Service: Mr Bobby, Ms Catherine, Ms V, Mr Malachi, Mr Ishmael, Ms Kago— all of them took care of us with compassion and care. I loved learning about what the Chobe was like when Mr Bobby was young. I loved goofing around and joking with Ms Kago. Ms V at the spa is MAGICAL. Ms Catherine: I’m embarrassed how many times you had to help me find my phone or wallet or headphones. Thank you thank you thank you. Everyone on this property was nonstop smiling while we were there. Accommodations: The rooms were DARLING, adequate wifi, the food was rich and colorful, and when we first arrived there was a dynamic dance performance featuring traditional songs from Botswana you would hear at a wedding or holiday party. I literally cried. It was wonderful. Location: Just moments away from an entrance to Chobe National Park, we saw elephants on our first morning game drive literally right on the edge of the property near the gate! And every unit is facing the flood plain of the Chobe River. It’s a once in a lifetime view. The most beautiful sunset you’ve ever seen. On our game drives and river cruise we saw Bush Buck Impala Water Buck Zebra Giraffe Elephant Cape Buffalo Velvet Monkey Chacma Baboon Warthogs Nile Crocodile Hippopotamus Monitor Lizards Guinea Fowl Kudu Puku Antelope Mongoose Lion Sable antelope White-back vulture Jackal And many many birds Incredible experience. Thank you all. I miss you already.

    {"0":"Definite five star experience. This was our favorite stop on the trip (stayed for three nights). Great food and service, wonderful and spacious rooms that are their own separate buildings, excellent managers and staff. Also, game drives both in Chobe park and on the river have abundant wildlife. It helps too that the lodge has a couple trackers who scout out wildlife and possibly interesting situations. Would definitely recommend to friends. Our guide Innocent was super and very personable and knowledgeable. Great sunset view down hill and onto river floodplain from dining area.\n\nOne significant plus about this lodge that was unexpected is that they have fitness equipment like treadmills, bikes, rowing machine and free weights. This really helped us enjoy the trip more. While time flies by while on the two game drives each day, getting some exercise during the midday lunch and rest period was really helpful. Surprised more places don't have this.","2":["0","239"]}
