πŸ‘πŸ‘ Lovely place. Great architecture. Superb carvings. Grand design. Intricate carvings. Hope it was maintained better. There are no washrooms around. People would pay for visits so that money required for maintenance can be raised. Someone built it long ago and it's a shame that we cannot maintain... This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva built in Nagar Style. This temple is testimony to the architectural skills of the Maratha workmen who constructed this temple on the bank of Narmada River. It took 34 years to build this temple and at a cost of 1.5 crore Indian rupees. at that time it was huge cost. This temple is visible from long distance due to its strategic location. Eventhough this temple is dedicated lord shiva, Pillars have statues of Dashavatar of Vishnu starting Matya, Kurma, Varaha, Narasimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Budha and Kalki Avatara's. There is beautiful and pleasant Rama temple inside this temple surroundings. Spend your good quality time inside this temple and absorb the beauty of the each and every statue and design of this temple. it is really great construction and no words to say. Guides are available there, please book your guide if you really interested in Architecture and historical things. Temple Aarthi timings Morning 08:00 am and Evening 06:00 pm Temple visiting timings Morning 07:00 am to Evening 06:30 pm

It is one of the grandest Shiva temple of India. It has a beautiful architecture which stands next to Narmada river which flows so gracefully without disturbing the serenity of the temple. It is very peaceful, clean, fresh and full of energy. People too are very happy to help you. The cenotaph of Ahilya Bai Holkar is inside the grand Maheshwar Fort that stands on the banks of river Narmada. The cenotaph was built by her daughter Krishna Bai following the Nagar style of architecture. There is also a shivalinga in its inner sanctum, next to a statue of Ahilya Bai which is why it’s often referred to as Ahilyeshwar Shivalaya.
