Sahastradhara literally transforms into “a thousand streams”. As the name goes , one could see numerous small natural water falls. These falls occur due to a rocky terrain formation at one portion of the mighty Narmada River. The river flows through those rocky obstacles and creates a wonderful sight . The sun shines over the river and gives a glistening appearance to it. You could hear the flow of river that creates symphony in its own way. The shore of the river is a rocky terrain , so one needs to be careful while traversing .The breeze gives you a cool feeling even when you are in the sun. All these beautiful things create a relaxing peaceful atmosphere. We reached here by boarding a boat from the Narmada Ghat at Maheshwar Fort. You could either take a common boat with many passenger or you could hire your own private boat for a family. Rates differ accordingly. But this boat ride is worth it . If you are with a good company then this becomes an amazing experience . Once you reach at the point where you have to get off the boat , you’ll find local people with different food stalls. You can even enjoy hot spicy Maggie or even have sugar cane juice . Please do keep in mind to throw your garbage in the bins only .

Narmada River sahastradhara waterfall. Be very careful and cautious while visiting this place as river is full of slippery stones and accidents happen frequently, of course because of river Place. But its a great place to enjoy and swim in narmada.

Beautiful waterfall, nice sunset...You have to walk through some rocky terrain to reach the waterfall( old people take care)..You can hang out at various spots near the waterfall. The car parking is nearly a km away from the waterfall!! The waterfall provides peace and calm and is very serene....

A peaceful place . You can sit there for hours .. You can directly visit to sahastradhara waterfalls by road. And if you want to enjoy through boating you have to reach to Maheshwar ghat . They charge you around 1200/- which is bit high but it's a worth. Must visit with friends and family.

I liked sahastra dhara falls a lot. You can come with your family and friends to enjoy the falls and play in the water. There are a few small vendors who sell pingal, banana chips, tea, water bottles, papad, and sugarcane juice at the correct market price. First visit maheshwar then come to sahastra dhara from your vehicle by road. At maheshwar you also get the facilities of a boat to reach sahastra dhara at 1200/- price token but that experience is not so worth it, it's better if you could find the way, ask to native peoples or find a way via Google map but visit sahastra dhara waterfall by yourselves

Sahastradhara literally means a thousand streams. Narmada river flows over a rocky patch here and so the main flow breaks down into many streams. With sunlight falling over the streams, it creates a silvery and gleaming river. Visitors won't see this sight in the monsoon as the river will have a lot more water to break down. Hence, winter is the best season to visit the waterfall where one gets totally engrossed in the mesmerizing play of the streams of Maa Narmada. Besides, there are numerous streams of crystal clear water, and it is very pleasant to sit by the side of the water and enjoy the peace. One can visit this place by boat ride or by road. A 15-20 minute boat ride away from Ahilyabai Ghat and then one should walk in the river towards water over the rocks for some distance. Since the place does not require climbing, it can be visited by elders also.

A spectacular view of river Narmada splitting into thousands of streams. One must end their Maheshwar trip here. Keep 2-3 hrs in the evening to embrace the beauty of this place. Caution: Don't underestimate the flow of water. Cross it carefully as the rocks inside the water are slippery.

Misleading name as there weren't any 'waterfalls'. Unless you confuse rapids with waterfalls. Picturesque and the best thing is that there were no crowds. But as with most places in India, you will find it littered with plastic.

Extremely Beautiful Place and must Visit if you come to Visit Maheshwar Fort, this place is Very Beautiful clean and fun. Tip For Visitors: whenever you visit here, do carry a towel and your clothes because after seeing the place you'll think of bathing in the river with superclean water. Don't try this in rainy season.

As the name says "Sahastradhara", thousands of water channels... Really it is... Clean water..of narmada river flowing through..making a natural beauty and wonder.. People come here for rejoice and calmness of the sweet cold and calm water flowing... Several rocks turning Narmada river into Sahastradhara and making the river into just less than a kilometer wide... And also a natural obstacle for boats..

With sunlight falling over the streams, it creates a silvery and gleaming river. The sight is very beautiful. You won’t get this sight in monsoon as the river will have lot more water to breakdown. We went in winter. The atmosphere was also cooler, and the river flow was beautiful. There were however hardly any visitors. Narmada is a holy river for Indians. Also known as Rewa. In “ Narmada Parikrama” they take a full round around the river travelling over 2400 km on foot. It is one of the most gruelling pilgrimages. We saw three pilgrims at the nearby temple. Government can develop Sahastradhara into a great tourist attraction..

It is one of the places you must visit if you come to visit Maheshwar. It is 6-7km from Maheshwar. The road is nicely built. Any big vehicle can go there like Car, SUV, etc. When you reach Jalkoti, there's a temple of Lord Dattatrey (दत्त भगवान). Very beautifully built temple gives you a calm and peace. In front of the temple there's a short distance(walkable) Road that leads you to the Sahastradhara. Sahastradhara is a nice place. Sit there on rocks and enjoy the sound/music of the river. One can really enjoy that scene. Although it's a very nice place, you have to be very careful because it is a risky place too. Many accidents of drowning happens here. Don't go far in water or at all in water. Just sit there and enjoy the music that river Narmada plays.

It is not a waterfall but it is a water way through rocky structure. Still the view ambience was very awesome and breeze was very cool. Good place but one shoud take precautions while walking and sitting near water. Rocks are bit slippery and fall may cause injuries to one. Otherwise there is only one stall for snacks, tea and sugarcane juice.

Good thing was we can hear the sound of th river. But you have to walk on the rocks to reach near the river. There were some local shopkeepers selling fruits & snack items. 1 time visit place. 2 lane streets where people park the car & then walk to the waterfall area. You can't take pets to this place.

Best view of maa narmada river near maheshwar. Make sure you are wearing shoes which have good grip. Parking is free. Carry your own eating stuff. I will not suggest anyone to take bath or swimming at this location coz force is too much and nobody can predict the rocks.
