The place is amazing during monsoons with lush green environment. It’s usually crowded during weekends and late evenings. It is sad to see people littering the place so recklessly. A request to everyone to be morally conscious of the waste they tend to leave behind. Please don’t litter.

A place to kick back and relax with the nature. PROS: Great place for a short cardio session (walk) Easily accessible Various places to explore including cave Great place to go for a short walk with kids. CONS: Watch your step (you might skip and fall on the stairs if you are not careful)

It is a wonderful place for picnic and short walk. I would recommend this place for nice view and fresh air and especially cave and during monsoon season, river looks so nice with the view. During clear day you can come for a photoshoot. Due to ticket system, it is well maintained and only at the back side of cave there are waste otherwise other places are nicely maintained and cleaned. There is a funpark near this park and a temple named jalvairab temple. So you can get three options in one go i.e small funpark, park and a temple and to make these all look more fascinating river just looks too good with many small caves near river. So I would recommend this people to those people who want a short walk and some fresh air or small group picnic.

It is believed that  Manjushree cut a gorge at Chobhar, near Chobhar Ancient Hill Village and drained away the waters to establish Kathmandu valley

Really nice place. I think this place and the surrounding area could be nice camping ground. Too bad the caves are closed. And the rope bridge is too close to the bridge for vehicles. It just ruins the view and the experience.

This is the best place to enjoy the natural and historical beauty at the same time. This place holds the great history of Manjushree. If you want a peaceful environment you can visit on any other day beside Saturday. The park is just too good to admire. Also the river flowing beside the park adds a different level of beauty to this place.

One of the most important temple of Ganesh binayak). It is widely known as Jal Binayak, at chovar, Kathmandu. It's the gate of the River Bagmati. The old tales goes like this, the big mountain was cut through the sword. Manjushree, the power God had done it and made the entire place to stay. It's one of the oldest and historically important temple. This is the only temple where we can see the true craftsmanship. The temples architecture will amaze everyone. It's fine artistic temple. When around lalitpur and Kathmandu, do visit Jal Binayak. It's worth visiting.

Overlooking Chobar Gorge, Manjushree Park is popular with romancing teenagers, but is of more interest to foreigners for its cave, which, at 3250m, is said to be the longest in South Asia. Only 350m is open to visitors and it's accessed from five entry points – the largest of which is Bagh Gohpha, which involves clambering through a series of tunnels.

Very interesting story behind the formation of Kathmandu valley is hidden around this park. You can spend your 1 ,2 hours if you do not want to explore inside caves. Some caves takes 2 hours inside as explained by local persons. You can see the only one river exit of whole kathmandu valley here.

Nice place to have a good view on the other side of Kathmandu across the chobar gorge. High altitude overviewing the deep gorge and dirty water crossing kathmandu however the smell might disappoint you during the winters.

Located in the Chobhar gorge of the Kirtipur Municipality, Manjushree Park should be on your list of places to visit with family in Kirtipur, Nepal. Located near the Manjushree cave, this park is ideal for sightseeing and photography. Its a good park where we can go and have a good view of nature beauty . We need to get tickets from counter to enter this park !

A historical park. Is popular for cave and different shaped natural stones. The park is fanced and has different plants and flowers. But the park required proper maintenance. The barren area of park is being dusty. The caves should be explore to promote adventurous sports.

It's always fun coming to this place during the month of Kartik during Aadinath Mela. The entrance fee is Rs. 50, which I think is a little expensive. They are probably adding the zip lines. That might be interesting.

Beautiful spot above Chobhar Gorge, where Manjushri is said to have cleft the mountain with his sword, opening up the Kathmandu valley. Note that there are separate entrances to the park, running down the hill towards the river, and the gardens, on the other side of the road, where you will find the Manjushri statue. The lower park includes Manjushri's caves, but they are dangerous and you can't enter.

A gorge through which the holy river bagmati pass through and out of kathmandu valley, the capital city of nepal. It is beleived that the gorge was created when a goddess named 'manjushree' cut off a part of the hill in order to get the water drain out of the eneronomous lake to form the beautiful valley of kathmandu.

Good for short tour. The place is nearby from the city. It offers a okay view with some reasonable restros. Smell of the place is bad due to the scent from the river which is too much polluted!

This little park is reachable both from Chobhar and Kirtipur and you will need to pay a small entry fee. It is a bit steep and not very accessible for people with disabilities/problems walking. The views of the river are amazing and the park is lush during monsoons. The stone garden part is snall but great for exploring for children (under supervision). The restrooms near the front gate were also relatively clean. Most of the caves/paths were off limits when we visited in 2021. It could also be a little more well kept (we could see the littering by visitors). I would advise wearing mosquito repellant especially if you ate going with small children.

Chovar Manjushree is a popular religious and cultural site located in the Chovar area of Kathmandu, Nepal. Manjushree is a Buddhist deity known for his wisdom and knowledge, and Chovar Manjushree is revered as the patron deity of Kathmandu Valley. The legend behind the site goes that Manjushree, who is said to have created the valley by cutting a gorge with his sword to drain the waters and make it habitable, was worshipped at Chovar. The site also holds historical significance, as it is believed that King Manadeva built a temple in the area during the 5th century. The Chovar Manjushree temple complex features a large statue of Manjushree in a seated position, along with smaller shrines dedicated to other deities. The complex is also home to several ancient stone carvings and sculptures. The site is a popular pilgrimage destination for both locals and tourists alike, and visitors can enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding valley from the temple complex. Chovar Manjushree is also a popular spot for traditional Nepalese weddings and other cultural ceremonies

This place has been one of the most goto place for me since many years. The cool breeze and the slopy landscape makes it more beautiful. You will see many families enjoying their time over here and having fun. Down under the place right above the river is a gateway to a cave too. You can watch the mystery this place carries. The surrounding is also very clean and people are very friendly over there. There used to be caged animals around too before in the area for the visitors to see and click pictures and feed them, but now the animals there aren't any. This cool place has entry fee of just Rs. 30/-. Which is very affordable, you can bring your own food or buy from outside too and have a good time here. Best place for the Best combo of sunbath and music. Attached photo: is the recently built tower structure in the mid of the area.

Good picnic spot and refreshing away from humdrum of city.. yet this place needs to be managed more in terms of being a tourist destination.. planting more trees and maintaining greenery in the garden might be one of the very required areas ... the polluted water of the river smells really bad... not good place to enjoy beside being a place of ancient value...

Manjushree Park should be on your list of places to visit with family in Kirtipur, you can visit Manjushree cave, and this park is ideal for sightseeing and photography. Located on a small hill, this park offers visitors with panoramic views of the beautiful surroundings. The park is believed to be named after Manjushree, who was a Chinese saint.
