Place is awesome, jail theme is very nice. Price is bit high but according to the place it's ok. Even they serve food is the same kind of bowl which is used in jail. Uniform of staff is also matching the theme, holding a mug of 🍺 & the live music gives you a different vibes. Must visit place.

This is one of the best rock places I've been to in the world (I've been to quite a few). This is a huge venue in the centre of the Thamel area of Katmandu. Free entry both times I went. First night was a quiet night but very early, next visit a few days later in the evening it was very busy. Service was great both times, drinks prices very reasonable and a great selection. Atmosphere was great, friendly and welcoming. Music was good. Loved it alot. This is definitely the place to go to if you want a good rock vibe.

One of the best places in Kathmandu to hang out. It's a very big band club with great sound quality & music. You can find the spot & enjoy the music. The food quality is good as well & we had one hell of a Tim here. On weekends it gets crowded, so better to go early for better seats. Highly recommend.

Fantastic place for concert lover. I really love the toilet pee pots for men. Gas cylinder are used as pee pot in men restroom. Wondering, is it burners for the women lol

I was alone because my brother was sick. But what a great night. A lot of people want to talk and dance with me. I was around 20:00 and enough space in the front but around 21:00 it got busy. So don’t be to late. Beer is 900npr not cheap but for the place it was good.

Been here almost every week or so, for the past few months. The absolute must go place in Thamel. The bands here are great and the sound system is good. The prices here are better compared to other places in Thamel. The space is ample but is crowded on weekends. Absolutely love it so far!

Purple Haze is one of the best Rock bars I have ever been to. It's really huge and the crowd is amazing. We saw the Parivartan band's performance and really loved their music. Even the food is very amazing and not that costly. Highly recommended place to visit in Kathmandu

A 4 story live band bar situated in the heart of thamel and you wouldn't even know it. You walk up this unassuming flight of stairs off the side of the street and it opens up into this massive spot. Like I said there are four stories with a live band in the front and a dance floor, multiple bars and food options. The only negative I would have is that the place is open to smoking so it is VERY smoky in there, like unbreathable smoky at some spots - literally kids chain smoking. Again, that is allowed, just something to be aware of if you are sensitive to that. We came here twice, the music is fantastic, though sometimes they play Nepali songs/sets and so you can't really vibe with that music. That being said some of the bands are just amazing.

The best rock bar in Nepal. Founded by musicians, for musicians, and music lovers. The sound system and lighting are great. Bands performing are very tight. What's surprising is that they have one of the best NYC style pizza in Nepal. Even though most people come here just for drinks and few appetisers the food is so good that you can come for dinner.

Make and Female Security was drunk. They smelled like alcohol. Well i was enjoying my drinks and the music. Security scolded me about the pack of medicine that looked like chocolate to them that was in the table. I told them it was my medicine but they did not believe me. They don’t even know how to read ; there was medicine written all over the packet 🤦‍♂️ . They proceeded to make a scene where i was sitting. They were cursing me in Nepali telling me to get out. Which i did not. When i asked them to call the manager, they dipped. They should check customers while entering the premises which they did not. They said its the best bar in Nepal, if this is the best bar in Nepal ; Nepal don’t really have good bar and staffs. Spend more than 50 thousand nepali rupees that night. Ruined my night. I recommend to visit other bars for good services. Visit at your own risk.

Always top class service from the friendly staff. Purple haze is One of the best live music bars in Thamel. They have huge performing stage and good amount of seating. Food, drinks are reasonably priced with outstanding service which is endorsement of Nepal.

Great place to party. It’s extremely crowded. But the environment was very young and energetic. Loved it. But had a bad experience, someone tried to harasse me. So be careful if you are a woman, apart from that you can visit. I enjoyed the live music. But due to bad experience with harassment cant say i would come back.

Very nice place with live music, it has its own great vibe. Big choice of beverages. There is also security inside and I’ve seen them taking outside completely drunk guests so no need to worry about any troubles. If you like rock music then it’s a must see.

Absolutely love this gem of a place. Loved I back in 2017. Loved it during my visit few days ago in December 2020. The venue always have amazing bands playing great music. The vibe is wonderful. It's totally safe. Food cost is high but for the ambience, I would pay it. No one will force you to order. You can come, chill and leave.

I visited this on my last night of Nepal. The crowd, the concerts were so lit it made my trip end memorable for life. The performers were so cool and packed. They took my requests after a while and the whole audiences cheered me for that and a lot of fellow stranger tourists joined me and sang along. If you visit thummel street, don't miss it

Cool place to hang out nice area .. love the dress code of staffs but in the end you are ending it with paying for you entertainment So you might want to check what are the things they are charging.. we never orders the tibor y large bit in the end I was ended up paying because of my mistake so do check you tab as you go

I liked both the bands that performed. It was opening band Gone Elvis and Cobweb. The atmosphere was nice, very crowded but the music was really good. If you would like a nice seat please go early to get a good view of the band. Played some originals and some good covers. Food was okay, service was good. Since it's summer might gets quite hot. First ever bar I went to in Nepal. The place was crowded as it should be. Everyone looked great and was enjoying their time. Couple of beers and the live band just makes a person vibe in the place and live the moment as it is.

There was no water in bathroom some one bring cup of wateto wash hands also. When i asked to security he said . You can go and asked ko manager not me. This is not the way to treat with customer. Please look those things too. If that unknown didn’t help me I will be in trouble.

I enjoyed coming to this venue for its ambiance. Once you come in through the entrance and to the establishment, you're essentially right in front of the stage. The cassette tape wall, the propane tank urinals, there are all sorts of very creative decorations. The guitar wall and the seating gives any visitors a perfectly good view of the stage. I'm also very impressed by the bands that play here. They are all so talented. Big kudos to everyone.

It's not what it used to be. Went here after a long time. Boyband! Pop! songs played in a ROCK Bar. Disappointed in songs they were playing. Opening band's sound was so bad, couldn't hear vocal most of the time. Main band didn't have that problem. Didn't try much food. But the ones we tried were decent. Few Drinks were unexpectedly expensive. Not enough mobilisation of staffs. Had to leave seat and find one just to get a drink. Overall , meh experience. I hope it gets back to its default go-to Rock Bar days..
