Large touristy bar right in the heat of Thamel. Nice venue with a very international feel. Friendly service. Nice drink selection. Reasonable prices. Had a nice time here, just to a pity I didn't add my name to the wall.

A good place to have some beer while listening to music. The page is in the heart of Themal and it offers a variety of drinks, to be taken on the terrace. Prices are a bit higher, oriented at tourist prices. Nevertheless, it is a good and friendly place to relax and to have a beer in a good atmosphere. The surrounding is calm and almost quiet from the regular noice of the city.

It was fine. It's a bar based on the typical "hole in the wall" bar. Loud music. Lots a smoke. Good drinks and quick service. Personally thought was over rated based on previous reviews. Wouldn't go again. Found a local hole in the wall bar the next day and it was fantastic.

Really cool place to grab a drink with friends. Its usually packed during friday nights and Saturday nights. The prices of drinks are also very reasonable.

515 rupees (4 dollars) for a beer (bottle). Why alcohol is so expensive in Nepal? But mixers and cocktails are cheaper than beer....and this is great! The bar is nice enough and always full in the weekend! :)

what a place and what a vibe. great place to get drunk. totally cool place. dont be late or you will be drinking while standing.....until you can🤣 popcorn and chips are only appetizer they serve. overall a great place. recomended 7/10

Its a good fun place to hangout for drinks. They don't serve food but they do have chips and popcorn. The prices for drinks are reasonable. Smoking allowed. The bar has a patio style and open so for non smokers like me. The smoke didn't bother that much

Fireplace located inside to keep you warm in the winter season. The atmosphere makes it an excellent place for a night cap or to socialize with friends. The drinks are reasonably priced. I'd recommend sticking to easy drinks to make and not getting too fancy of a cocktail.

Ambience was really good over there you have some sips of alcohol while listening to live music. The guy played a few Bollywood songs as well for us

I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to chill, have a good time with few drinks. Also, they don't accept FonePay or Cards, so carry some cash with you. I loved their one quote - "No WIFI here, talk to your friends" and the place is all about that. Will visit again.

You can't easily find this place so keep an eye out Small bar with a decent seating area, run by a telepathic bar lady who will never forget what you drink Atmosphere here is good but some times it's too full for me. More a pub than a bar It's an interesting demographic for sure, let's put it that way. Lot of the people there seemed stuck. Fun if you're more into the alternative scene, but nothing for me

I love this place just for its ambience. Though it's cramped up and houseful always. You need to be there as early as possible to get a table or may end up standing at the counter with drinks. The USP of the bar are cheap booze, music and the cutest buddy 🐕. He'll be there to watch over the place so don't be scared by again don't disturb him but I know it's tempting.

This is a nice spot to meet other trekkers and travellers. The menu is good, a bit high in the price but still decent. The staff are amazing and super attentive. The seating is outdoor. Highly recommend!

The indoor area is cut off for you if you're a 6 ft guy. And in case you try to sit at the bar stool, it's hard to enjoy alone as someone would be elbowing you unintentionally due to the congested place. The outdoor seating area is full of loud conversations and has a fun vibe. The music won't be too loud, and you can have a conversation easily with your friends. I wish they had better brands in Beer!

Overall, Sam's Bar is a great place to hang out with friends and colleagues. It offers a wide selection of liquors at reasonable prices and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, they don't serve any food items and no parking space, so you will need to find your parking spot. Also this place is cash only so better carry some cash while visiting here.

On my very first night in Kathmandu, stumbled on this gem of a place! Excellent atmosphere, good music & Sam at the bar is an angel! She made me feel so welcome. I was there alone, but within a matter of a few minutes, I was having the most wonderful conversation with Sam-the owner & other fellow travellers from England, Australia, Belgium & India! In true Billy Joel words- “Yes they’re sharing a drink they call loneliness, but it’s better than drinking alone!” The next thing I know, 4 hours pass- the conversation & the beer still keep flowing! Highly highly recommend this place! Cheers & thanks Sam! :)

A very lovely place to enjoy your evening. If you are addicted to your smartphone the place is not for you. Not much expensive, always make sure you pay cash only. No card or online payment is accepted, intentionally. The place I would love to describe as "Connecting people not with smart phones."

Incredibly must visit place while you are in Thamel, Kathmandu. Environment was buzzing with local and overseas folks even till late night. Place was tiny but lively and cozy. Hates of to the owner, a mideval lady bartender. She can pour and serve, she can make cheques, manage staffs at the mean time can make a drink for herself as well. Really fascinating experience.

Sam's Bar is a great place in Thamel, Kathmandu. Vibrant environment. Indoor and outdoor seating both are cozy. Smoking is allowed here. The staff is really well behaved and welcoming. They have local and imported drinks. The happy hour rates are applied only on the local options.

Go with friends or without to make new ones. They have a pet dog who'll join you at times, if you're lucky :)
