Very expensive foods but taste was awesome. Service was also good. Seating arrangements were fine. There are separate indoor and put door space. Located in the heart of Thamel. Recommended. 👍🏼

We reached Kathmandu from Pokhara on bus after an 8 hour journey. It was tiring but the views were spectacular. We stayed in a hotel nearby and went out to have some food. After a long time we came across this restaurant and we were happy once we finished our food. It was totally amazing. The food here is halal as well so it was a relief for us.

The wow moment is the service...just awesome. Our server miss Manish T.Magar went the beyond of her service limit. Wats a superb evening.. Food just another wow factor. The tandoor chicken looked even better! I definitely recommend if you're looking for a good, tasty, and clean option as a tourist in Kathmandu.

I am a big fan of Indian food and this was honestly one of the best Indian restaurants I have ever been to. They make the BEST naan ever. I recommend to make a reservation ahead. Unfortunately, I got a very bad food poisoning afterwards so I don’t recommend to order paneer

The rooftop is very nice ! We ordered some vegetable curry, chicken biryaki & chicken kebab. All was delicious, the service is very good. Prices a little bit expensive but possible to manage through the menu. I recommend it highly !

Excellent food and highly recommended place for Indian food. We had the chicken tikka masala with Indian rice and salad and naan bread. Definitely recommended! The prices are okay but the service is incredible - the staff is very nice, welcoming, and friendly. We were a group of 15 and they went over and above to accommodate the group at the best service possible. Highly recommended!

We were close to a dozen hungry soul. Especially hungry for Indian food after our 12 days trek to Everest Base Camp. All suggestions led us to the Third Eye Restaurant. Flasy place, well done, fine interiors and looked expensive every bit. We had no energy to reconsider. We ordered most of the items in the Indian vegetarian section. Food took a bit time to arrive. But the wait was worth. Every item nourished both our mind and body. The bill was also very reasonable. Rs.5000 INR for 10 people. Unbelievable deal. So we came near the next day too and ordered the other left out items from the previous day...

good minced beef curry, not too salty with gentle spicies and reasoning tastes. Tendori chicken was ok, a bit intense in its flavour, but, was a good match with nam. Carrot pudding (kajarko haluwa) was a surprise. It didn't give any hint of carrot by fragrance at all. Kids or anyone afraid of carrot would love it.

We really enjoyed our meal here. The portions were big enough to share with a few other side dishes, and quite tasty. The service was quick and friendly. I recommend the rice pudding for dessert! A bit on the pricey side but well worth it.

Can’t fault the service or experience at Third Eye, the food had great depth of flavour and the waiters were very helpful when choosing meals and with levels of spice. All around great experience!

Nice little dessert and coffee place next to the Thai restaurant. Good cake selection, cheese cake, chocolate cake, macaroon, …etc. good price too, limited seating though. So most likely they cater to take away customers.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in Kathmandu. Very authentic Indian food. The ambience is cozy and the service is really spot on. We ordered butter naan and a paneer dish and it was delicious. The quantity is good too. Indian Cards and currency is accepted here too. Overall, a very pleasant experience. Must visit if you are in Kathmandu and craving for Indian food.

I was looking to have some Nepalese food, but ended up having continental. The Fish & chips was just ok. May be I should have tried Indian, which is supposed to be the best here. Anyhow no regrets, nice ambience and good service.

What a find! The other good reviews are definitely true. We came here and it was very quiet but the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Portions weren’t too big which is a nice change and was seasoned perfectly. Would definitely return.

Had the best indian cuisine for lunch today . We were served a variety of curries from vegetables , chicken and fish. And I have the most unique dessert " carrot pudding " . It is a very interesting taste. Sweet almost like coconut pieces that is blended. Recommend if you are visiting the city.

Best thing about this place is the food! Lovely authentic Indian cuisine that will make you mouth water. The service is nice and polite and the roof garden is a great place to have a lovely lunch. 10/10

The best Indian restaurant is quite a claim, I've eaten Indian food all over the world, and maybe the claim is valid as I certainly enjoyed what I ordered. The only downside is my order took a long time to take, however my food came quickly and it was delicious. Highly Recommended if you're looking for great Indian food in Kathmandu

Good restaurant with friendly staff with a smoking and non-smoking section. We had some good Indian food, Chicken kebab Massala, in the cosy non-smoking section. The brownie was a bit dry, more a chocolate cake then a brownie. Would fully recommend this restaurant

Food is very good and tasty. Price is higher than most of the place in thamel. The environment is good. One thing I don't like here is the staff makes me feel I needed to finish my food and drink fast, I have not complete by food and drink but the staff keep asking whether if he can collect it or not. It's obvious the food is not finish yet. I'm don't know why they are rushing for it since there's not many customer around at the time I was there

We loved this place. The atmosphere is cozy, the fires and heaters keep the garden and rooftop warm (we were here in December), and the kids found the lounge (?) area really fun. The service is really good, the staff are thorough and thoughtful without being intrusive. The food is nothing short of amazing. This is probably the best Indian food we’ve had outside of India. One word of advice: if you’re a Westerner and you like spicy food, do ask for your food to be spicy, explicitly. We asked for the “medium hot” version and it was quite mild. The “mild” version has no spice in it, at all, which is quite rare in Asia and is great if that’s what you want, our kids loved it. Overall, we loved this place and will definitely return before our stay in Nepal is over! 😀

The ambiance of this place is very nice with great vibe and multiple options to sit and enjoy. Food is extremely tasty and flavour full, one of the best Indian Cuisine in Kathmandu no doubt. All the dishes seems freshly cooked and nicely presented. Only con is the price which is on the higher side which may be good for tourists but not so much for the locals. Overall a must try place if you are looking for a pleasant Indian food in Kathmandu.

GREAT INDIAN FOOD! Tasty, spicy, well cooked, just amazing Indian food. The space was really cute with multiple floors, indoors, outdoors, and an upstairs patio. The food was phenomenal and the service was great. There was actual spice flavors packed into the food and it was just awesome. I think the best dish was the crispy chicken app - which was spicy and crunchy and just well made. An awesome restaurant in Thamel with a cute vibe and great, great food.

The big Buddha outside the restaurant was what attracted us to go in! We ordered an assortment of dishes and they were so yummy! Very affordable and wonderful service! Warm thanks to the team at ‘Third Eye’ restaurant for taking care of us !

Quiet place and not so busy during lunchtime. Food is great. Ordered a vegetarian Thali set. Came with a starter meal a bamboo/potato soup and crispy rice. The meal is more than sufficient and tasty. Highly recommended by someone and I strongly recommend anyone to dine in for a great food. 👍

Nice place. Quiet on a weekday afternoon. Service is attentive and friendly. Ordered the vegetarian Newari meal. It’s essentially dal bhat. Delicious and really filling, esp since it’s served with appetizer of grains and buckwheat wine.

Lightning and the decor is quite nice. Tea is average. No brown sugar or zero caps but most places don’t have them. I think Third Eye Bakery is part of this place too? (Maybe) Not sure cuz the bakery is in Yin Yang Restaurant which is right next door. Come to think of it, the decorations and interior of both restaurants are quite similar. But if the bakery is part of this place, their red velvet and chocolate truffle is quite good. Having Shaha Charcoal Kabab with Butter Nan tonight. Looks yummy!

This place was always on my list to visit and dine with family and finally we went the other day. It is because I prefer going out to particular Indian restaurants that serve typical indian dishes that fulfills my desire of classy indian taste. Like butter chicken, tandoor chicken, biryani with raita. And yes,, we had them all. Delicious 😊😊😊. Will go again.

Delicious Indian food with an upscale twist, in a lovely setting. It's a peaceful modern haven, conveniently located in the middle of the downtown action. Aim for the delightful rooftop seating if the weather suits, otherwise cozy up indoors, grab a cold beer or glass of wine, and prepare to enjoy the experience.

Nice café restaurant with beautiful Nepali dishes. The price is a little higher than some restaurants again, but it is still very affordable and the taste is great. We particularly enjoyed the atmosphere of the booth tables.

Great Indian restaurant in Kathmandu. The staff were very friendly and the ambience was relaxing and cute. They had both indoor and outdoor seating. We tried the sultana jira rice, the bhaigan ka bharat, the garlic naan and the banana lassi. All of them were delicious. We especially enjoyed the naan-- it still had some fluff to it and wasn't crispy to the point of being a cracker; and they didn't skimp on the garlic!

Food was really delicious the essence of spices in each dish came out very well. Staff was very friendly they gave us the table we wanted and the service was quick too. Each and every staff took good care of us from servers to managers. Highly recommended!! Loved it had a great experience.

This is THE BEST Indian food I have EVER had! If I had discovered it earlier in my trip, I would have eaten there more than once! The tandoori chicken was AMAZING. Everything we had was so good. Definitely go here for dinner if you are staying in Thamel.

Awesome ambience, best paneer butter masala, horrendous tandoori roti. Tasteless Biryani. Pleasant and courteous staff. Overall, a good experience. Worth a try!

Food is below average, I didn't enjoy it. It doesn't taste the same as original cuisine. The ambience is nice. High prices don't reflect food taste.

  • 3/5 Karl R. 2 years ago on Google
Probably the best Indian restaurant in Kathmandu. I can recommend the Chicken Makhani and their Bharwan Kulcha (which is really naan stuffed with potato, paneer, and spices).

  • 3/5 Suyesh P. 11 months ago on Google
Ambience was good, service was good but the food that we ordered were not up to the mark. Chicken Tandoori was BURNT which is really bad for health, Smoothies felt bland and Chicken Biryani was average. This restaurant is quite expensive so we were expecting much more than what we were served.

  • 3/5 nexh bituci b. 1 year ago on Google
The place is nice but the food is not great. It is an expensive restaurant for a food you will enjoy much better in no fancy restaurants for a better service and much better food! They make you pay for rice when, wherever you go in Nepali restaurants, you get it for free and even better, they offer you refills! A place for tourists who don’t know Kathmandu and its many excellent restaurants

Lovely ambience, great food and attentive servers. We tried the non veg tandoori platter for two and it was yum. Must visit place.

Here I had my last meal before I had to escape because of Covid. Here I have my first meal upon returning to Kathmandu. Never disappoints.
