Lovely range of dishes in the thali. The red pickle in particular had an incredible taste to it. Affordable prices too. Well worth a visit.

The best place to have Thakali Thali in Thamel area. During our visit to Nepal (During Jan’23), we ate in this place for our lunch and dinner. We had the mutton thali and the famous jhol momo. And we loved them both.

I love this place! Food is super tasty and healthy, the staff is very nice and the service is fast. And they will offer you more food when you´re finished, so generous! I always have some extra fresh green vegetables! There are mostly locals eating in there. Simple place with affordable price!

A lot of variety of foods from the menu. Ordered fried noodle and fried rice and one more looks like dumpling called Momo as local named it. Taste all not bad. Enjoy!

Had a very delicious local Chicken Set Thakali Thali. All clean and the staff was nice. Definitely would come back to eat here again 👍🏼 Edit: came back one week later and tried their steamed chicken MoMos - delicious!

Thakali Thalis are a staple meal in Nepal, and the variety of flavors, textures, and colors all served on a single metal platter made for a great way to sample lots of different local items. At the center of my thali was dhido (which I ordered instead of rice), a gooey mass of a buckwheat dough, in which the server used a spoon to make a hole, which he then filled with ghee. The other feature item of the thali was Sukuti, made of dried, fried boneless mutton in a spicy gravy, and the sukuti strips were super chewy, meaty, tough, and flavorful. And then there were a bunch of side dishes including sweet curd, a papad cracker, a spiced potato and green bean mixture, bitter mustard greens, radish pickle, roasted soy beans, a spicy red chutney, raw cucumber/radish, and a dark, salty dal made of mixed beans and lentils. The servers even brought around unlimited refills of the sides. My favorite components of the thali were the greens, the spiced potato, and the sukuti, but everything was balanced and delicious!

One the best, if not the best,Thakali Thali we had in Nepal. Restaurant located in the centre of Thamel on the first floor. Service friendly and helpful. Prices very reasonable. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Well worth a visit.

Amazing place to eat and to escape the chaos of Thamel. It‘s located at the first floor and caters to regular Nepalis and not only to the tourist crowd. The Chicken Thakali Thali is outstanding!

Outstanding Thakali dinner choices. A little hard to find (go up to the 3rd floor) but once there the food and service are fantastic. The Dhido was the best I have ever had being completely smooth without any graininess. There is a good selection of local beers and the prices are very reasonable. If you want to try great Nepali cuisine you won't find much better.

I ordered the ubiquitous Gorkha Strong beer (delicious as always) and the sukuti mutton fry. The fried mutton meat was lacking seasoning and was very dry. So I was hesitant to order anything else. But, I braved on, and ordered the Badel (wild boar) thali set. Wow, wow, wow! As the before and after photos will justify, a must visit place for great Newari food. Just be a little patient with the service staff. They have good intentions. ❤️

We tried authentic Nepali thalis in chicken, mutton and fish variants. Food was above average. Ambience of the restaurant is good. Staffs are helpful and professional.

We tried Special Thakali Thali with Mutton and Chicken. It’s unlimited refills except the meat. The food tastes great with ghee. Fried fish was not good. Can be given a try once.

Good food good atmosphere but I did get teased/winked at by a guy twice when I was in a group of like 15 so kinda suspicious

I had some kind of mix platter of chicken with rice - good variety, very tasty. The waiter came out about halfway through my meal and refilled my dishes for free - I had to actually stop him because he wanted to load me up with about 5 meals' worth. I walked in, I rolled out. And it was only 500 rupees for the meal and a drink! A+ would recommend.

Food quality upgrade and cleaner after the renovation. I tried some Jhol Momo and Madala Tea last time. All time famous here is Dhindo (buckwheat/ millet platter) and Typical Nepali Thali Set with some Ghee.

The Receptionist was rude . However the waiter were quite helpful and their service was good . Mutton curry in Thakali mutton set wasnot good it had no taste .

They have very tasty thakali khana set and they did fulfill my wish to have vegan thali, reasonably priced, however they can do some decoration for improving the ambience a bit. Rest was fine i would go eat there again!

Thakali bhanchha ghar It's located inside a business that's pretty common in thamel area. Environment was great and clean. My hungry stomach led me there I had some veg thakali khana set. It was great 👍 but little off.

We didn't find it as good as expected. Ghd rice on the second serving was of a low quality type. Daal was also not so good. A little more than an average daal bhat place. You csn add 50 rupees more but please incease the quality of your food. Customer service was alright.

A must must visit place for authentic Nepali Thakali food. Thakali is served unlimited. Lunch and Dinner both vegetarian and non vegetarian food available. Liquors are also served of local and international brand. I loved the saag in Thakali thali....
