Yes, go here once, though it is quite dark in lower floor but the cakes here are DELICIOUS. It doesn't seem like any other new cafe/ restaurant in freak street and the aesthetic is old rusty and you dont see that usually do you. And again cake YES. You might get a little discomfort because it is not no smoking zone as soon as you enter.

This place was and always going to be my favorite hang out...even after going there for more than 2 decades. My favorite is the apple crumble. Blackforest cake is different and delicious. Big shout out to uncle and Raj Dai. The most amazing cafe hosts you will find in Kathmandu. Must go go go if you are visiting as well.

At 8:30pm, went in thinking it would for sure be closed. The owner had indeed turned the chairs down, but was willing enough to accept a last customer. Nested in a now-hipster neighborhood, the shop had a single sign which too was not easily noticeable, which makes it more of a treasure find for a first timer. Motivated by a friend's admiration for their caramel custard, I asked the owner for the same. The taste was well worth the hype.

First off, cakes are amazing here and pretty unique, owner has its own creative vision and just to the right point. So if you have a sweet tooth, or you are food explorer ( like me ;) ) or seeking for local gems.. this place is for you. Ambience and atmosphere. It is a little like if you would close your eyes and end up in hippy 60s... rasta murals on walls, people reading newspapers for hours, sipping fanta straight out of glass bottles, everyone is smoking, no wifi. Few foreigners lots of locals some knowing each other, shaking hands when coming in. To me it was something very comforting to be here and sending me back to the times where we would go home to place a call. ;)) I respect businesses like that and hope they stay true for long. One thing that was a disadvantage to me is that there’s no room where people would not be smoking . Hope they set up one. All in all, this one should be on your map.

This is the cafe which serves best cakes, pastries in the city. The taste is simply the best. We can have coffee and some other drinks too which is also good. The only negative side of this place I see is non-smokers may not enjoy this place. But of course you can take away too. Parking is not available in most of the restaurant in freak street so I am not counting it.

Went there for Apple pie on recommendation of a local from Nepal. Nice place, it's kind of historic, like been there for more than 60 years or so. I tried Apple pie and it was nice. And the cool dark ambience is nice too.
