Himalayan Java Coffee - Mandala Street

Cafe

👍 Himalayan java never disappoints, and this outlet is my favourite so far. The coffee is good, the cheesecake here is one of the best. The onion rings reminded of sel-roti texture wise , in a good way of course, and paired so well with honey mustard. The place is just so cozy and not too busy as it's... People often mention coffee, good, nice, Himalayan, service, great, time, cake, staff, java,

Great latte (285 NRS), great service and nice atmosphere. Promptly served and the waiter made sure to check-in on us every now and again. Excellent work.

Can't beat this place in Kathmandu, imo. This location is very cozy, quaint and hip all at the same time. Great selection of food, good tea and coffee. They really know what they're doing, excellent on all fronts, food, atmosphere and service. As an American in the summer, I would like AC, but hey, I'm not in America, haha. They have a lot of windows they open, so it's not too bad. This is definitely my favorite coffee place in Kathmandu, and favorite location.

Love the coffee here! Great brownie & cheese cake, overall, they serve high quality food and bakery worth the price. I prefer this branch because it's not too noisy, not too crowded, and their wifi is strong enough to spend some time working here. Very well decorated. The staffs are nice but need little improvement on customer's response.

Amazing place for hot or cold coffee. It is the place I visited the most during my stay in Nepal.the only bad thing is that they don't have toilets and you have to go outside of the store to a different place... Also there are 2 3 tables for smokers outside. The service was good enough for Kathmandu and for English speakers waiters that they are still learning ! Last thing you should try the carrot cake it was amazing . also all lot of brunch and other options like burgers

One of my favorite cafes in Kathmandu. Don't forget to look at the ceiling painted with coffee husk. For great service look for Shankar. You can play the guitar if you feel like or read the books too. A great place to work or hangout with friends.

The space is amazing, also the best coffee in katmandu by far, but employees are very slow to serve you, also they’re not very focus on you. We went for 4 straight days the morning to evening to work on the computers and we didn’t spent more or ate more because they didn’t aware in so many times we tried to call them in many different days and ways. Anyways I highly suggest this place, also internet is pretty good and amazing place to eat have coffee meetings or work. I would give them 9/10

Very nice and stylish place on the first floor in the silent street with traffic ban. There are wooden tables with plenty of space. The first time here we ordered baked beans (white beans in sweet tomato souce), caramel cappuccino, hot chocolate (chocolate taste milk, not quite intense) and perfect blueberry cheesecake. Next time we had chocolate fuge cake, blueberry cheesecake, ice coffee and papaya juice (very dense)

Ordered Bolognese pasta and mint lemonade. The pasta was flavourful and the portion was fulfilling. Highly recommended if you enjoy quiet time by yourself, the ambience is good.

Not up to par. Blended caramel macchiato was sour and the layers separated. When I told the staff, they just said it's normal. I don't think sour coffee is normal. For this price, I expected much better quality of coffee and service. Their Pokhara branch rocks though.

Very nice place to have a (Western) breakfast. This spot is way smaller than the other Himalayan Java Coffees, which adds to its cosyness. I preferred this one. Went here multiple times. Solid choice.

This is one of the best Himalayan Java i have been to. I'm totally in love with the ambience. The afternoons are the best time to be here for a quiet time, read or study or basically juat chill for a while. The decor is so welcoming and warm. The service staffs are so nice and accommodating. The coffee is good perhaps a little unreasonable but it's himalayan java. Also didn't like the washroom situation here as we are to use the mandala street public washrooms which are clean of course but nit comfortable.

I absolutely love Himalayan java coffee in nepal and whenever I needed coffee, I visited the nearby Himalayan java coffee. This one, like all others is so cozy. Try the mocha java coffee and the hot chocolate java. Highly recommend both. The blended mocha is great too.

If you’re an American expat nostalgic for Starbucks, this would hit the spot. Comfortable ambiance with themed mugs for sale, pop remixes, and neutral wood and metal furnishings. Pricey (by Kathmandu standards) forgettable food. Friendly and polite staff.

My fave spot for the Himalayan Java Coffee label in Mandala Street. I’ve been coming here since 2018 and is a nice comfortable location within the heart of Thamel. Coffee is available in all forms hot and cold but I always select the Australian styled cappuccino as I’m always homesick when it comes to coffee. Food is minimal when it comes to menu but the various toasted sandwiches and minimal burgers are still nice, the cakes have a wide selection but cheesecakes feature regularly. With free wifi and a small bookshop shelf (which you can purchase books on Nepal and mountains) and read the daily Himalayan newspaper, it has many items that can have you there for hours. All in all, it is a nice comfortable, quiet location where you can spend some quiet time alone or with friends and drink very nice coffee.

Super disappointed in this place. Came here with high hopes for a great coffee but was super disappointed by the cappuccino as it had no foam also the chocolate cake lacked flavour of any kind. I wanted to use the wifi but that was also nearly non existent it was crazy slow so I left after 10 mins.

Actually a nice cafe with good coffee. But be aware: A little piece of cheese cake costs 6 euros here! There are no prices on the cake display case, so you only get the nasty surprise afterwards. We felt cheated.

Himalayan Java never failed to impress me. Amazing outlet at Chaya Complex. Nice interior decors, big seating capacity and same classic Himalayan Java taste.

I went here around 2 in the afternoon, waited about 10minutes at my table, nobody came to take my order, no biggie so i went myself to the counter, ordered tea and 2eggs with toast. My tea arrived about 30 minutes later. 5minutes thereafter the staff comes to me and tells me there's nobody to make my food. So I had to go elsewhere... The atmosphere is nice and the tea was good. But I spent around an hour hoping to get some food. Disappointed.

Beautiful coffee place offering late breakfast till 12 pm. Toasted multi grain bread was a nice surprise and some leafy greens for breakfast is always good.

Best coffee in Kathmandu if not Nepal! Food was high quality and definitely one of the better breakfast/lunch spots to be found in city. I had the cheese tomato toastie which I can recommend. I do think this restaurant were lacking in veggie and vegan options which could be be improved. Prices were also quite high especially when service charges and additional tax were added to the bill. Not a cheap eat for back packers a meal + coffee will come to 700-1000 per person!

What an amazing place to chill out. This Cafe offers good food and a decent coffee. It's a great place to head over if you just want to take 5 while you're on your trip. The staff are polite. Highly recommended.

I think this is my new favourite Himalayan Java for its lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Very clean, good music, great customer service. We got coffee and snacks. Everything was fast and perfect. We also played a game of dutch blitz to lengthen our stay.
