Well amazing place for travellers.. the staff here is awesome. Mr. Chettri the owner is a nice man, very kind and helpful.. also the place is cheaper and best for travellers who prefer quality in the budget.

I have stayed in many hostels across the world in the last five months, but this is the first I've left a review for. I appreciated my time here a great deal. The guys are good people, helpful and welcoming, and the hostel is a wonderful escape from the untethered mania of Kathmandu! I fully recommend.

This is a simply great hostel to stay in! The staff are fantastic, like friends to me! I passed through here a number of times during four months in Nepal, sometimes leaving stuff while I trekked, other times returning by surprise! The rooms are comfortable, there is a great mix of people passing through, all the facilities are close by. It's nice to not be in the centre of KTM but to have a more 'suburban' feel. Nice walking on the other side of the ring road, easy to go up to Swayambhu of a morning or evening, only 15/20 mins to town and good restaurants all around. Tell them hello from Jock when you go!

This place is now called 3Monkeys Backpacker's Hostel (but Google Maps has the wrong location for the hostel of that name— it is actually at this location!) Super friendly staff, affordable prices, and awesome rooftop terrace. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

Excellent hostel. Definitively a place to stay while visiting Kathmandu. Besides the fact its quite cheap, the staff is very friendly and helpful. They helped me with getting a bus to Pokhara, as well as doing some laundry for a small price. I really enjoyed my stay here.

The workers are awesome. Generous and eager to mingle and help. The rooms are fine, bring ear plugs. The monkeys and dogs are having turf wars outside, but that's not the hostels fault. There is a nice community bathroom outside of the shared rooms. They have baggage storage which was great a long with airport transportation which was very reasonably priced. On the third floor is a nice resteraunt and mingling area. Be sure to check out the roof top, the stars are beautiful over the city at night. Best hostel we have stayed at in awhile! Thanks!

I stayed for 6 days in the dorms and would definitely recommend. The staff is friendly and personable. The atmosphere is relaxed and warm. Som was very helpful! The location is great, located just a block away from the entrance to the monkey temple and I enjoyed being away from the more touristy sections of the city.Thanks Sparkling Turtle, I will be back soon!

One of the best hostels I have been to. A perfect common area, so easy to meet new people. Great vibe. Location is good, though not in Thamel which is the "centre". The staff is extremely helpful, nice and welcoming. I had a medical issue and the manager accompanied my to the hospital and checked in on my on the following day - Highly appreciated. This place has definitely made my Nepal experience so nice.

This is my favourite place to stay in Kathmandu. It’s in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of a bus stop and the Swayambhunath monkey temple. The beds are very comfortable. The breakfast is simple but delicious and changes every day. The staff is superb and are happy to help with anything you might need. Always looking forward to my next stay at the Turtle!

Very clean hostel. Hosts are nice. Great view from the roof. Free breakfast is not always the same. A lot of great, cheap (60 Rs) Momo food carts next to the ring road nearby.

A great hostel, full of charm and character. The room and bathrooms are very clean. We also enjoyed visiting the monkey temple early in the morning, around 5 am as its only steps away from the hostel

We stayed here two times, before and after our trek in a dorm room. The staff was super friendly and always helpful. Even when we were sick, they offered us transport to the doctor. The food here is very good. The cooks are excellent!! The rooms are simple and clean. The bathrooms are also clean, but at different times a day, the water isn't working which is a general problem in Kathmandu and not only in this hostel. While we were trekking we were able to store our baggage for free here. If we come back to Nepal, this will definitely be the place were we will stay another time! :-)

A bit far from the main part of the city, but owners were friendly and helpful with hiking information. They provide free luggage storage if you want to leave your bigger packs whilst you're trekking! You can also rent hiking gear through them as well. Food was good!
