This hostel is clean, with perfect location at a good price. The common areas are perfect to work or to chill. The terrace is super nice and the food at their restaurant is just delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The wifi at the rooms is a bit unstable but in the common areas it works well. At night can be a bit noisy (from the street) but it's actually not that bad compared to other hostels in the area (Thamel it's a busy area, so there's no much they can do). The toilets are clean and has hot water almost always. It's not a party hostels but yet social. You're not allowed to eat outside food, but the restaurant has a very good price.

Comfortable beds, a hit shower. On top of that super nice staff and a cool "rooftop".

Overall great hostel! Clean and good facilities. I would give 5 stars. However, I had breakfast and the provided butter and jam was not enough for two toast, so I requested a little bit more, just to cover the second toast. Later they charged me an 100 extra. Not the world, but leaves a bitter taste and bad vibes. I would expect this basic hospitallity and it was also not communicated when ordering.

The best accommodation we had during 5 weeks in Nepal. Rooms, staff & hospitality are outstanding! Slept in more than 300 hostels in my life and Yakety Yak is under my top five! The Yakety Yak crew will make your Nepal experience unforgettable.

Mixed feelings about this place. Rooms are clean but the mattresses are very stiff (slept on better beds at 4000m in the Everest region). People at the reception are great and very friendly but the people from the cafe are very insistent that you eat their food. When they have nothing to do, they come see you and ask you if you wanna order food all the time. Location is great but very noisy on the weekend. Also they make you pay for luggage storage, which a lot of other hostel do not. A little overrated for the price.

Great hostel in Thamel with very friendly staff! I stayed here for 10 days in a private room. The room was clean, modern, spacious and importantly the bathroom had a good hot water supply. The hostel is clean, spacious, and has nice common areas to meet people and relax. There is also a bar there, so you can enjoy a few drinks, and they also serve food which is good and well priced. All of the staff were also very friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

This place is amazing. My friends and I crashed here after a 10 day meditation course. I did not actually stay in the hostel, as I had a late night flight, but they were kind enough to allow me to drop my bags for the day and use their speedy wifi. They have such a beautiful space and the location is perfectly central. The staff was so nice, so helpful, and they had great music playing. All in all such a cool vibe for a hostel, I would definitely recommend this place! I did see my friends' room and the bathroom--all super spacious and clean.

Great hostel with the best staff in Nepal - Angila and Sujit are really good people who will become your friends and help you with your travel around Nepal. I stayed there so long because the staff are so good. And I'll return because of them too. It's a clean and comfortable hostel with good socialising area. Wifi is ok - around 8Mbps. The only complaint I'd have is that if it was busy then it'd be a bit noisy as the dorms and private room 5 are near the bar and socialising area. But I stayed during a quiet period. Location is great. Basically a great stay made even better by the staff.

One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Loved the ambience, the décor, the food and the people. Very well maintained one. Will surely stay next time I go to Nepal.

First of all there is no parking for Bike. You have to pay 20 RS. per hour. The first thing happened is I was out whole day and came after mid night. I found that other people are sleeping on my bed and my friend's bed as well. Although manager helped me and woke them up and they left. but this experience is something which I never had.

Perfect hostel. Dorms and bathrooms were extremely clean. Very friendly staff. Comfy beds and they have a female dorm. Great chilling spaces inside and on the large terrace.

Great facilities, clean room and hot showers which is always a plus when in Kathmandu. The staff is very accommodating and even though I was there during low season the hostel has a very nice atmosphere. The only drawback was that it can get a bit noisy night, mostly due to its central location in Thamel.

Most definitely the best hostel in Kathmandu. They are very well located have a great bar and seating area along with super friendly staff. My only issue was they never had hot water in the shower in the morning and it’s super noisy from outside so make sure to take some ear plugs.

New hostel, clean and nicely decorated. Staff was helpful and helped us get a taxi, send postcards or even recommend good places to eat. The room was quiet even though the hostel is in the heart of thamel. I would go again.

This place is soooooo awesome. The best hostel stay I’ve ever experienced. The rooms are clean and quite. It is easy access to all the night life Kathmandu has to offer. The staff were super friendly. Ask for a Mr. Sujeet on your stay there. He is such a good host. The place basically has a great vibe. I’m sure anyone would enjoy it as much as I did.

This is a modern place located in the center of the city with walk by access to souvenir shops and restaurants. Very cozy lobby area, helpful and pleasant personnel.

The best place I've been in Kathmandu. No one can regret this place. The ambience, the flow, the people, the staff..... Ufffffff... It's great.... Love it.

Stayed in a en suite room- best experience ever! Comfortable bed, well-appointed room with great design, and the BEST water pressure (with 24/7 hot water) I’ve ever experienced- better even than my own home! Yummy breakfast (recommend the Yak Bowl), lovely communal space with a fantastic bar which fosters lots of friendly chitchat with fellow travelers. The location is fantastic. I would recommend Yakety Yak to anyone going to Kathmandu, and will stay there again when I next make it back to Nepal!

If I ever knew hostels are this great of a stay I would have never went to another hotel. And among many I've stayed at lately, this hostel has given me a perfect memory to relish on forever. Rooms are great, dorms are even better, but the best place you'll enjoy is the counter area cum chilling area cum drinks area and the open terrace...ufff just lovely. And the staffs are just some other friend you met after a long time. Definitely have a stay here.

Best hostel in "Thamel" market neat and clean with professional and friendly staff specialy Angila. I came back today from Kathmandu but missing badly 🥺 the days spent there.

Very good hostel. I stayed there in November 2021. It was a bit quiet because of Covid context. Durlav and Angela were fantastic host. Giving good recommendation for place to eat, trek, even providing free sticks to use during the trek. They were always smiling and very accommodating with any request. The place was very clean and center location in Thamel made it very easy to reach any location. I would recommend to stay there to anyone wanting the hostel experience.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOSTEL AS A SOLO FEMALE TRAVELLER !!!! This hostel needs an education on women’s rights. I stayed here for two nights at the end of my time in Nepal. During my first night a man climbed into my bed uninvited. And the next day I was randomly filmed by a different man in the hostel room. When I complained to the hostel staff, at first I was met with laughter. They then eventually sorted me out with a female only dorm for my second night but it took them forever to do and lots of complaining from my end. After doing this the hostel manager then attempted to gaslight me into thinking that it was me who had misunderstood these situations. I was made to feel horrendous during my time in this hostel. Such poor customer service ! Following a discussion with the hostel manager, the hostel owner then approached me… several excuses etc. were given until finally a half hearted apology was made. I’ve stayed and also worked in many hostels before and I have never come across such poor communication and customer service.
