My girlfriend and I spent were looking for a last minute place to stay and stumbled upon this hidden gem. It was exactly what we were looking for: perfect romantic getaway in Kathmandu, beautiful garden to take meals or tea in, and the room made us feel as if we were home rather then at some strange hotel. The staff were super helpful and kind, the free breakfast was good and filling, and the price was perfectly reasonable for the quality of the room, ambiance, and services provided. Best feature: the bed was easily the most comfortable that I have ever slept on in this part of the world. It was like sleeping on a cloud. I can not recommend this lovely bed and breakfast enough. If you are on the fence while looking for a place in Kathmandu, do your self a favor and just go for a look. Chances are you will fall in love!

Stayed in a bunch of budget options in Kathmandu. We were beyond disappointed. We splurged on a “luxury” hotel and were disappointed... then we found Andes house and were happy. The staff is great, they feel like family and are always willing to help. They may charge more for a transfer but are very up front about it and explain why it costs more and even offer to get you a taxi if you want - we paid more to travel with them anyways. The breakfast is great and the rooms are nice for the price. Hot water is pretty reliable. Internet is fast. The resident dog, poochie, is deaf but very friendly. Recommended.

Andes House was amazing. We arrived late, around 9:30pm or 10pm. And we were greeted and welcomed in. We were given a private room with a private bathroom and warm shower. Breakfast is served from 7am til 10am, but we had a bus to catch at 7 the next day. The host made us a delicious breakfast at 6:30, and walked us to the bus stop! Great service and friendly host.

I loved the room I had here. It was a corner room overlooking the courtyard with two big and breezy windows. It was such a breath of clean, fresh, soft air after coming down a rocky mountain road from the border of Tibet held by China in a Jeep. I felt like I was in a tropical villa at the foot of the Himalayas. What a treasure after so many weeks. The breakfast was delicious to my preferences and the coffee even more so!! Beyond all of that - the owner/caretaker and his staff were extremely helpful, kind, and caring. If I visit Kathmandu again, I will definitely stay here. I have been dreaming of this room and Kathmandu during covid closures ✨.

Nice place to stay at thamel.small but we'll managed. Wonderful host. Not very expensive. And they had parking space. A small garden sitting arrangement. Over-all...will definitely visit next time.

No hot water available. Beds were not comfortable. Hard pillows. Small room. No cabinets for storage.

"I recently booked a room at Andes House and was disappointed with my experience. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a rude staff member who showed no interest in welcoming me or making me feel at home. Despite having made a reservation, the staff member seemed inconvenienced by my presence and made no effort to provide me with any helpful information about the hotel or its amenities. While the room itself was adequate, my experience was soured by the staff member's attitude. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to others as a result. It's important for hotels to remember that customer service is key to creating a positive experience for guests. Unfortunately, Andes House failed to deliver in this area and left me feeling disappointed.

This is the best option you can find in Thane. The hostel is centrally located, cheap, hygienic, specious and having all the basic amenities. The guys who runs the hostel are cool and helpful. The place has chillout area and enjoy around. Definitely recommended!!

Best experience in thamel we stayed for 20plus days.. they are pet friendly and provided a good service on breakfast, also it’s situated in a prime location.. if you step out it’s a vibrant location in thamel already really close to a lot of restaurants and pubs do try out their premium room for once..

First the good. For the price the beds are very comfortable, showers are hot and clean enough, and the breakfast is adequate for a free breakfast and the staff were nice enough. Fairly quite location for Thamel as well Now the bad. I stayed in the 6-bed shared dorm on the top floor so I can't speak to the quality of the private rooms. Wi-Fi didn't work on the top floor and almost all of the outlets near the beds don't work, the owner/staff (not sure) didn't really seem to care about either and was well aware that the outlets didn't work. Door to the room didn't really close (not a big deal to me). Bathroom didn't have toilet paper at 4AM (might have just been unlucky though). Overall, for the price it's decent value. But too many things that should be simple fixes are really holding this place back.

Most peaceful hotel I've stayed at in Ktm, and I have stayed at three. The outdoor garden was perfect to meditate in the morning!:) Really recommend

They said outside you’re just a tourist but inside the hotel you’re family, and that is 100% true! The staff are so friendly and would give you recommendations on where to go. Breakfast is included. Bed is comfortable, cozy atmosphere around the premises. In the centre of Thamel but away from noises. A good value to stay on your visit here :)

We Stayed a few nights at Andes Homeand had the best time! Clean rooms, good breakfast, located in a lively area and the best: owner and the people ❤️ we had a lot of fun together and they made it very easy to Arrive to nepal, they told us a lot about the Nepalese culture and helped us organizing trips. One thing you should know before booking here: there's a bar or a night club around the corner and you hear the music every night. Didn't bother us at all as it was nice to be in a center, but still maybe good to be known. :)

Fantastic location in Thamel Great price for guest house. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast. Rooms are basic but great for location and price. Ideal for backpackers or those just needing a room to put your head down but not if you are looking for luxury. Lovely outdoor seating areas. Would definitely stay again.

Enjoyed to stay at this place for a few nights before and after our trip to Sagarmatha. It has a very good location in Thamel having all the busy shops around the corner but still being tranquil with some relaxing green vegetation in the yard too. The owner Deepak is an enthusiast and is always happy to help. The room was clean, fair priced and the bed was comfortable, though the mattress might already be a bit worn out. In the night there used to be often loud music from the surrounding bars. For breakfast, I personally recommend to eat somewhere else, if you can.

Stayed here for 5 nights in a Triple Room. Pros: 1) Thamel is a vibrant location (lots of eateries and shopping) 2) Quiet 3) Includes basic breakfast (Bread, Omlette, Fruit, Tea/Coffee) 4) Friendly owner 5) Cabs available at a walking distance 6) Hot water available 7) Reliable WIFI and all charging points were working Cons: 1) Housekeeping not available at times 2) City Bus Stand is a bit far (1-1.5 km) 3) House may be a bit difficult to locate on maps. Overall 4.5/5. In case you are a pet-lover, you can enjoy the company of the owner's cute dog (Fuchey). Will come back again. Arjun (Kolkata).

Good accomodation in Thamel area. Clean, basic room with hot showers. Breakfast was included in the price, coffee/tea, omelet, toast and fruit. They had purified water on sight as well which was appreciated. The owner gave us some great recommendations for restaurants in the area. Overall a nice stay.

Very friendly staff, great budget stay. In Thamel but not in the buzz area of Thamel, quiet and calm, just a minute walk and you are in the streets of Thamel. We enjoyed our stay here, definitely coming back!

Stayed here last year, it was great! The hosts are so friendly and accommodating, they were very helpful with organizing transport. They even walked me to the bus station when I was going to Pokhara. If you’re a solo traveler looking to meet people, it’s not the best place, but if you already have some friends and you’re looking for a nice and relaxing stay, I would definitely recommend! Also, I don’t know if I was just so exhausted after trekking for weeks, but the beds were SO comfy, I wanted to stay there and never leave.

After 5 years I returned to the Andes House and for me it was still as good as the first time I visited this place. Good rooms for an affordable price with breakfast included. Friendly and helpfull hosts, hot shower and good internet speed inside the rooms (ask which router you have to use). Located in a quiet neighborhood, but just move a few steps and you will be in Thamel. Recommended!

Great hostel to stay in Kathmandu. It has a nice and relaxing garden. The rooms on the upper floors are lightful. The place is clean and well organised. Staff are very helpful for all your needs. And the best thing is: The hostel is right in the middle of Thamel but it is a surprisingly quiet place that you don't hear any noise from around. We stayed liked for one week for now. But we will surely come back later next month after our Pokhara visit. Thanks for everything!

We stayed here for two nights before trekking and another seven nights after trekking! This place is amazing! The hostel is right in the center of Thamel but surprisingly it is a quiet place where you cannot hear any noise. The location of the hostel also makes preparing for the trek super easy and easy access to all the restaurants! We stayed in multiple rooms but we liked the room on the third floor the most as it was more well lit from the sunlight. The price of the room also includes daily breakfast. They do have storage space for any items you do not want to take with you trekking! The staff were super friendly! One of the hosts used to be a porter and a guide so he shared a lot of information with us and answered all of our questions about trekking. The host also helped us get bus tickets and taxis to different parts of Nepal. We will for sure stay here again when we come back to do another trek! Thank you so much for everything!

Very welcoming and friendly owner:) cozy place with hot shower. Located in a very convenient location. The owner has a brother with a tour agency that can help you find the best routes for trecking

Very cute and neat place! The hosts were welcoming and helpful, for instance they helped me and my girlfriend very well with preparing/organising a trekking! Also location is very good since it is close to the busy Thamel, but still quite calm area.

For the price, the rooms and location are perfect for exploring Thamel! The staff are so friendly and helpful. When I arrived in Nepal I needed to get my trekking permits and they drew me a map to get to the Tourism Office to get them 🥹 breakfast was healthy, wifi was fast, I returned after my trek it was such a chill vibe.

Not very expensive. Will fit your needs for a few days, in a simple way. The room was dusty (like most of katmandou) , but the bed was very clean. Shower was warm. Breakfast was fine, the staff was nice. They can keep your stuff during your trek. If you are looking for western every day confort, it will probably not fit your needs but be prepared to pay double somewhere else.

Very friendly owners that help you with everything you got. Very good service and a simple but good breakfast. The guesthouse is in a very nice backyard where you can sit nice and quiet. The house is very clean and the roomservice excellent. You get drinking water for free, so you dont need to buy plastic bottles and save the enviroment.

Hidden gem in the center of Thamel area. Nice & helpful staff. Clean room with comfy beds. Very affordable room price with good breakfast included - Eggs, toasts, fruit and coffee!! Frankly, visited quite a number of guest houses at Thamel, and finally decided to stay here. Some rooms are close to a noisy neighbor. So do ask for a quiet one.
