My stay at Tajaa Pha was amazing. Shailendra and his family are very welcoming and I appreciate a lot staying at their hotel. I highly recommend this place, the room are very nice, well decorated with all the comfort you can expect. The hotel also offers a rooftop overlooking Katmandou and the Himalaya.

Fabulous location in Patan over looking the pond. Rooms are a good size and very clean. Hosts, Shailendra and his wife, look after you very well and make sure you start the day with a good breakfast. Both are good cooks. Shailendra has a good knowledge of the area and is always there to help you. Highly recommend

I am so glad I stayed at Tajaa Pha. I felt at home, right when I arrived. Clean and big rooms, great view of the small lake right from the room and right in middle of Patan but in a nice neighbourhood. But what made the difference for me was also the hosts. Dai and Didi is family now. Morning breakfasts with them is what I looked forward to everyday and the conversations we had. Can't wait to be back during Dashain :)

Overall great experience, no faults. + breakfast was tasty (especially yogurt). + host and housekeeper were very friendly and checked up on to see if we were okay. Host was also apologetic when he felt he wasn’t as attentive, although we thought he was attentive at all times. + room was spacious and clean. + arranged transport for us.

This place is suitable for a student or a researcher . You can rent a room for a few days, weeks or even months. Shailendra ji, the owner has authentic knowledge about the area. He will guide you through the culture and history of patan and the surrounding area. The interiors are beautifully decorated. The view from the rooftop is amazing. After a whole day of work, a half an hour stay at the rooftop will freshen you up. There is a shared kitchen on the top floor, where you can take groceries and cook all by yourself.

Just wonderful hostel. I love everything here. The room was clean and organized. Love the view which was a beauty! I love the decorations. However there was two negative points for me. -There is no 24 hour front desk so if you reach in the early morning it would be a problem because the main gate is closed and if you also reached late at night you would face the same problem. - There is no hot water which was a huge problem for us. Otherwise everything is good and the host is very kind and helpful.

Wonderful place, very friendly owner. Nice view from and centrally located in the old town of the Patan city, away from noisy roads. Ample of opportunity to interact with locals, and experience the culture and lifestyles. At walking distance from the Patan Durbar Square. highly recommend for short and long stay at this family owned business.

Very friendly family owned guesthouse! I will come back. Reasonable priced rooms with kitchen area to cook your own meal. Rooftop has beautiful views. You will get to see the mountains if the sky is clear, usually after a rainy night.

This guest house is where Shailendra (owner) and his family makes everything for you to feel like at home! Amazing fresh and home-made breakfast on the terrace with gorgeous mountain view (if you are lucky! :)), local tips, small talks and attention to the details. Definitely recommended place to stay!

I loved my stay at Tajaa Phaa ! The owner Shalindra is so welcoming and helpful in every ways, the location is perfect to roam around in Pathan, the rooms are a nice nest you want to spend time in (with amazing bed and mattress), also the fact you have access to a kitchen and terrasse makes it very practical and comfy. You - feel - at - home ! Go !

My partner and I were lucky enough to stay here for multiple days. We loved it so much we decided to stay after our trek as well. The location is unbelievable - close to Patan Durbar square and next to many great restaurants. We were glad we chose to stay in this area over the crowded and more touristic area of Thamel as Patan is a wonderful, artistic forward neighborhood and this stay made us feel like we had a home there. Shilendra and his family go above and beyond because they are truly interested in making long term relationships with the people that stay at their home. We feel grateful to have had the opportunity to get to know them and were even invited to celebrate Tihar. I just cannot see us staying at any other place in Kathmandu and if you have the opportunity to stay here, don’t miss it.

Really nice guesthouse with a homy atmosphere and a nice family hosting you. The place is truly welcoming. Beautiful Neware house, delicious breakfast with daily different choices and the host is really friendly. Just as often in Nepal, water is not always hot and night can still be a bit cold (but I love the chinese warming mat system). To be recommanded! :)

We made Kathmandu our base for a month. We wanted a place that we could call home and know that when we return from any excursion, we had nice place to stay. We stayed at a fabulous Airbnb called Tajaa Pha the Heritage Home with a fabulous view from the balcony. The hosts, Shailendra and Amrita, were very friendly and helpful. We looked forward to a fabulous breakfast and coffee or tea with a view every morning. Our room was very cozy with a comfortable bed. There is plenty of sites to see in this area, making it a great location for a stay in Lalitpur. It is close to a lot of interesting places and great places to eat. In addition to being an amazing host, we got a fabulous tour from Shailendra today. I highly recommend if you come to his Airbnb to do one of his tours before hiring a tour guide. His tour was amazing and personal. We learned a great deal about the culture and community. We were able to see so many cultural and spiritual activities on his tour today. He took us to a temple that had a wedding and so many other interesting events. This tour makes me want to learn more about Nepal.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Tajaa Phaa for a few days in October 2019. We really enjoyed the time. The day begins with breakfast on the lovingly decorated roof terrace with a view of Lalitpur and the pond and the temples in front of the hotel, offering various homemade dishes such as pastries, fresh fruit or juju dhau (Newari yoghurt). We had the rooms on the side of the pond. the rooms are clean. Patan Durbar Square is only a 10 minute walk away. The hotel owners also help with planning excursions. The hotel is also part of the Patan Heritage walk through the city.

My stay here was amazing the rooms are very comfortable and some have balconies to hangout on whenever you want. The best thing though is the host's who are very friendly and are very connected to the community here and share their local knowledge of the area. I would highly recommend getting the breakfast on the tarce because it's one of the best places to get food as well as stay.

One of the best stays I had here in patan. The owner is super nice and helpful. The best part about the stay was definitely the home made breakfast. Rooms were spacious and clean, but definitely needs a better wifi.

Picking to stay in Patan was the best choice we made for our journey to Nepal. Owner of the hotel, Shailandra, was very kind and thoughtful. Great storyteller. He and his family made our stay an amazing experience. The hotel itself was really clean and equipped with essential facilities. Amazing views from the rooftop. Interesting location close by the historic Durbar Square.
