Extraordinary ambiance, and amazing crew. Really cares for the visitors. All the staff are amazing. Even the part time ones. Met Milon Bhai who is studying in Hotel Management and is also working here side by side. The lighting is amazing. Soothing. Caring. The food is great. I'll highly recommend this. If you are having a bad day, and even was in pain for the whole day long, this place and time can make you feel a moment of peace if Almighty wants. Anyways, great place. Visit and see.

Such a awesome place, to all those who discovered it and rated it high, I would appreciate this place for the best hospitality i received though i was just there to dine for one evening. The humility of Milan Bhai was so great and the food undoubtedly was authentic nepali cuisine. Places like these have been keeping the name of Nepalese Hospitality very very high, though the general public have been more of money oriented and selfish. Place though in corner well maintained with a small indoor courtyard to dine. For toursit visiting Nepal it could a best place for you to dine at a affordable cost.

Nestled inside one of the side streets, Yala Cafe is a small cafe with a very cozy garden seating. I've been here almost thrice during my two trips to Kathmandu and I've always had a pleasant experience. Their breakfast and lunch menu is great and their staff is extremely polite and courteous.

Really sweet coffee shop / restaurant. Absolutely delicious cappuccino, which at 150 NPR is much cheaper than Highland Beans Coffee. Carrot cake (299 NPR) was delicious, not dry, and a very big slice. Lovely "garden" area - i.e a brick courtyard with lots of big pot plants around. A welcome tranquility from the outside chaos! Friendly staff and lastly - they take credit card!

What a lovely ambience they do have here! It's quiet and yet vibrant at the same time. Wonderful food and beautiful typical Nepalese hospitality. It's a must-visit cafe once you're in Nepal. 5 star all the way. ❣️🙏

We came to Yala twice, once for breakfast and once for brunch. Both the times we had great food, surrounded by amazing plants in the beautiful and cozy garden. Also chapeau to the very nice and polite staff: we’ve been treated with loads of kindness. Will definitely be back when back in Kathmandu!

Best Breakfast In Nepal! The place has delicious food and great staff. Location is kinda hidden if you just are relying on maps only. But if look for an alley on your left you’ll see a sign that points to Yala Cafe. As you walk down the alley the cafe will be in your left. I will definitely be back tomorrow for their delicious breakfast! I highly recommend this place.

This is a small cafe located in Thamel. The food is good. The beverages are okay. It serves both Nepalese and western food The sitting area is small but beautiful. It has garden in between. The staff are polite. Giving slightly lower rating because of very slow service and average beverages.

Perfect food, atmosphere and service. The people working there are really nice and helpful. You can choose from different levels of how spicy your food should be: none or very spicy. I am leveling up every time 😁 The yak cheese is really tasty. First time I have tried.

We had lunch in Yala place and it was very delicious. The staff was very nice as well. The only thing I would like to say it was a bit smelly coming out of the restroom and while eating it was not the most comfortable.

One of our best finds in Kathmandu. Yala Cafe is a cute cafe in the middle of Thamel. There are both indoor and garden seating. The garden seating area is small but very cute and cozy. We were late for dinner and the staff was kind enough to still let us order. We were so impressed with their food and service that we went back the next day for breakfast. Their hot lemon with honey and breakfast platters are bomb! We would like to give a special shout out to one of the servers, Milan, who was kind and charming and attended to all our requests with a smile.

The ambience is good, its best especially if you want to have few of your work to be completed or want to read some books and relax. The dishes that were ordered were chicken thukpa, chicken samdwich and german cheese cake. After so long, there were good amount of chicken in the chicken thukpa and it really made me very happy 😂😂 and oh! the flavour of the soup was really delicious and savoury. For the sandwich, one can even ask for the brown bread option which I went for. And the sandwich was amazing. It would be really more good, if there was a good amount of cheese present inside the sandwich. I had a really great expectations set after enjoying those two above dishes for the dessert. But, the dessert was really not a cup of my tea. First of all, the cracker of the cheesecake was really really bad, and over the top the cheesecream was mixed with vanilla icecream and strawberry syrup was drizzled. The flavour was unbalanced and the icecream made it really hard for enjoying the overall flavour. So, overall it was good for a one time visit.

Chicken Nepali Thali special, they subbed rice for boiled veg. Wonderful service and good food but the cigarette smell from the terrace even fills the inside; the only negative but a big one. :(

Service was incredible. Fantastic breakfast, I got "Going Local" for breakfast (pictured) and my partner got an eggs Benedict. I only got through half of the meal as it was so filling. Coffee was like home (but without the huge price tag). Very impressed.

We went to the place because of the good reviews and, how can I say, our expectations were not disappointed. We went for the Yala Special Breakfast and the Famous Benedicts Eggs. Both dishes were very delicious and can only be recommended. The staff was very friendly and the service first class. If you are looking for a place to have breakfast, Yala Cafe will serve you well. PS: The ambience is also wonderful.

Simply the best restaurant in Thamel for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or to just enjoy a morning coffee while working on your computer (they have great coffee and wifi). I love their pancakes, dhal bhat, and tofu dishes. And momos are perfectly delicious! Also the stuff are super friendly! I feel very welcome every time I’m here :)

My favorite restaurant in all of Kathmandu, and I tried many in the 5 weeks I was here. I had dinner here 5 times and every dish I tried was excellent as was the service. Also the atmosphere is very comfortable both indoors, and outdoors on the nice patio. Prices are reasonable and my favorite part - they have a dry red wine at an affordable price per glass, a rarity in Nepal.

really like the coffee shop here. I really want to have enough time to visit all the coffee shops in Nepal. I really enjoy drinking coffee. This coffee shop is very romantic (I really like the candles on the table), and coffee is also very cheap. I have decided to come here every day for coffee! ☕️

We really like Yala Cafe because we've tried both their dinner and breakfast. Yala's special breakfast and the Banana porridge my friend had were incredibly tasty and worth the price. For dinner, we had the Paneer Butter Masala and Yala's special grilled chicken, which were both mouthwatering and delicious. We found the atmosphere very enjoyable. The service was attentive, with the staff always ready to help and ensure everything was okay. I truly appreciated their efforts to make my dining experience enjoyable. Yala Cafe is definitely worth visiting, especially if you're in Thamel.

Down a little side alley, this little cafe has a great cozy ambiance with small garden courtyard. We had the traditional Nepal Thali and they were even able to adjust it to my food needs (I can’t eat dairy). It was YUM. Waitstaff is kind and attentive! Would like to come back to try their breakfast items too!

A quiet, peaceful and cute place. Tucked away a bit so check the map and the signage. For everyone who needs an early and heavy breakfast I would certainly recommend their 'Eggs Benedict', as other reviewers also commented. They open at 7 am, and by 8 am you will be stuffed till noon or longer! Friendly staff and great ambiance. Heartily recommended!

Food was quite delicious and the little garden inside was a tranquil place to sit down and enjoy breakfast. Our flat white and masala chai were also excellent. One thing I found annoying though was the service. Constantly asking over and over again if we were fine, if everything was to our liking, if we needed anything more, and that they were available at our every beck and call etc. I value their eagerness to serve but I would also value restraint and temperance from their side.

Down a quiet alley, the small and peaceful Yala cafe is a great place for breakfast or other meals. The decor is tasteful and the staff friendly and attentive. The menu is small but with a nice variety, and the food is very good. Eggs Benedict is great for one. Also a great place for a coffee in the afternoon, the blend of beans is a local one and very tasty.

Rated as one of the top cafes in Thamel, I was eager to visit Yala. My experience was just ok not thrilled. Service by Pranish was 5/5, kind with a smile always. Cafe Latte 5/5 Iced latte 4/5 Badam Sadeko was made well. I wish the onions were sliced thin as per salad, the onion were cut in large chucks which occupied half of the plate and we ended up leaving it! 3/5 Vegetarian cream of soup 5/5 Vegetarian burger, looked good but the patty was burnt and burger was served with salsa chips with no dip...and burger itself was dry with no sauce 3/5 The biggest put off was the smell of drain or the loo that was so bad, it could not be ignored. How can they not do something about this at an eating place?! The music was apt and soothing.

Went in for brunch, wanted to have something vegetarian, but couldn't find any veg items on their breakfast menu, so had to order from their lunch menu. Tried veg thupka and it was great. Service was quick, ambience was cozy, prices were reasonable and the taste was decent. They have indoor and outdoor sitting arrangements. Had a nice experience.

Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Kathmandu, serves a fusion of traditional Nepali flavours and East Asian cuisines. Plenty of western dishes to choose from as well. The menu was expansive, the food was great quality and prepared fresh. Service was phenomenal and the staff incredibly attentive. The restaurant certainly had a homely feel too. Would very much recommend this restaurant, it is great place for a meal especially for travellers!

Yala cafe offers all kinds of food, no matter western food or authentic Nepali food, they are super tasty and healthy. I tried almost all the breakfasts which are all good and also tried several dishes for lunch. The presentation is beautiful and also the taste is good. And the co-chef Aashish is so patient and professional. When I asked for recommendation, he always gave me a good one according to my taste and preference. After finishing my food, he also asked me if the food was good or I had advice for improving the food. Definitely recommend to ask him for choosing your food at yala cafe. Except the chef , and also the waiters there are sooo friendly, patient, kind and always have cheerful smiling faces, especially Milan who always welcomed the guests with his nice smile and when you went to the table, he not only just asked if you’re ready to order, also he’s interested into the guests’ traveling in Nepal and what places they visited and what Nepali food they tried already, and I think this behavior made guests feel really warm and close to the place. And after finishing food, he also asked the guests if everything was good. All in all, Yala cafe not only has great food, friendly and cheerful atmosphere, but also has really great, nice and professional staff. Definitely worth spending some time there when you are in Kathmandu.
