This place is always my favorite to have samosa, jalebi and other varieties of sweets. Size texture as well as taste of the food always remain same. Fresh and hot samosa with chutney is a best dish for me. Narrow alley opposite of balaji diamond jewelry shop lead to tip top. Never expect more about ambience. Foods are served in each stall after giving them a token .however you have to eat your dishes standing within the premises chosing the best free spot. Road side parking is available.

I gave five star to this place because of its food taste and the price!!! This is one of the most famous and oldest (Samusha ) and chat house of Kathmandu. First tip top shop is opened at New road . Where people stay in line to have a Samusha. I remember that time when we are kids or youth when we go over there to eat. Now they have opened in here kamalpokhari . Near for me. Now you can find lots of other food also in here as well as sweats. You can also find a sugar free sweats in here. Mainly yeast is great . You can sit in here and eat or you can do to go. Inside they have only six or eight person place . You can find free parking in here . But not so big. They also served hot gelabi, which they made in front of you. For more please go through the photo which I have uploaded. Just go and enjoy!!!!

Quite a famous eatery shop in Kathmandu. The variety is good which includes Samosa dipped in sweet sauce, Jalebi, Rasmalai, Momo, Panipuri, etc. One should pay first and the token provided is given to the respective food stalls to receive your food. The place remains crowded most of the time. Not a spacious location. Improper management, since one has to stand and eat. The food is good but the size of the food now has decreased a lot with the increase in price. Proper management is yet to be done otherwise it might loose its quality in the near future. Parking: Not available

This place has been there since I was a kid. The taste is still as good as I rember from back then. Among other things, their puri tarkeri for breakfast is fab. Add some Jeri to it and you are set for the day.

This one is one the oldest and one of my favorite place for breakfast and snacks in all of Kathmandu. Everything is just *chef's kiss* perfect. Samosa, kachori, jalebi.. just too good. I have many memories of having poori sabzi for breakfast and that still remains my first choice. Only thing I do not like is eating space. You have to stand and eat and sometimes it gets congested but , may be that also adds to old world charm.

Best samosa in kathamndu, I use to eat samosa from tip top when I was young, almost every day we used to have samosa for lunch, today after long time going Tip top in new road and to have samosa, took me to my teenage with same taste and flavor, Tip top still have the same test now and it was same 20 yrs before. Samosa has been a favorite snacks for every Nepali since long time and this place is always there to serve hygienic and tasty samosa for every one, from Children to young till elder people. Only difference I found was lots of people waiting to get their samosa. 20yrs back it’s less crowded but it’s full of people, which tip top deserve to be.. coz they serve the best samosa in Town, Kathmandu

I absolutely like this place and the food is also very good. Tip top is famous for samosa and basically any type of sweet/dessert item. The pricing is very reasonable and in my opinion this the best place to get food if you are anywhere near new road area. I strongly recommend the place for the people who go shopping in the new road area. The place is not that big to sit and eat but it is manageable and it's not a hassle. I gave a 4 star instead of 5 because the place doesn't have too much place to sit and eat. If there was enough place , I would have given a 5 star right away.

Tip Top Sweets in Kathmandu stands as a testament to timeless flavors and culinary tradition. As one of the oldest sweets and samosa shops in the heart of the city, Tip Top Sweets has not only become a local legend but also a cherished food destination for anyone visiting Kathmandu. What sets Tip Top Sweets apart is its unwavering commitment to delivering classic, authentic samosas and jalebis. The samosas, in particular, have achieved a legendary status, drawing locals and tourists alike. While other places might boast about having the "best" samosas, there's an unspoken agreement among the people of Kathmandu that a visit to Tip Top Sweets is a rite of passage. The samosas at Tip Top Sweets are a delightful blend of crispy, golden-brown pastry and a flavorful, well-spiced filling. Each bite is a harmonious marriage of textures and tastes, leaving a lasting impression on your taste buds. The jalebis, too, are a symphony of sweetness, with a perfect balance of syrupy indulgence and a slight crunch. What truly makes Tip Top Sweets special is the sense of tradition and nostalgia that permeates the air. The ambiance is cozy and unassuming, allowing the food to take the center stage. The shop exudes a warm, inviting aroma that draws you in and makes you feel right at home. Moreover, the significance of Tip Top Sweets goes beyond its culinary offerings. It has become a cultural icon, a place where people gather to celebrate the simple joys of life through food. The shop's legacy is not just in its recipes but also in the memories it has created for generations of customers. In a city filled with culinary delights, Tip Top Sweets remains a shining beacon of authenticity and quality. It's not just a place to eat; it's an experience, a journey into the heart of Kathmandu's culinary heritage. So, if you find yourself in Kathmandu, a visit to Tip Top Sweets is not just a choice, but a must, to savor the true essence of classic samosas and jalebis. 😋🫶🏻

One of the favorite restaurants for Indian / Nepalese snacks. Originally it is famous for delicious Samosas. Nowadays the restaurant is also serving Panipuri, Veg MoMo and various sweet items. It is generally crowded by Samosa lovers. There is no proper sitting arrangement for visitors / guests. It is self service resturant and people have to pay first for tokens of snacks.

My Nepali friend showed me this place over 20 years ago. I return every time I am in Kathmandu. Hands down the best Samosas in the world!

Snacks like samosa ,jalebi are good not extraordinary but recently shop got fined for selling stale food. Keep in mind to buy fresh recently ready food don't go for buying stale in the name of fresh. In terms of service ,you have to do self service which not very efficient because of crowd all the time. Atmosphere is also unhygienic and customers have nowhere to sit, place is narrow and surrounding are not clean.

  • 4/5 Mansiri T. 5 months ago on Google
The place is in the same old format. More congested, narrow and more crowded. But the taste of samosa is same since last 35 yrs. Whenever I visit new road, I will never forget to have samosa there.

The samosa was good with sauce but it wasn't much different from the other shops. Dahi puri was good too but it was a bit expensive. Pani puri tasted bland and didn't meet our expectations. The staff used bare hands to mix potato stuffing together when preparing the stuffing. The server did wear gloves.

  • 4/5 Sujan S. 3 months ago on Google New
famous for samosa, its outer crust is crunchy, potato filling is spicey with more ginger taste and the sauce is yum unlike found in any other places. i love the variety of their sweets with fresh cooked jalebi being my favourite. the place is very crowded inside a narrow alley, there is no place to sit even, we have to stand on the parking area with is not very clean too. this place is probably one of the busiest places at around newroad.

A Good place for sweets and veg. snacks like samosa, jalebi etc.The cuisine you receive here is excellent, despite the pricing being pricier. My personal favorite here is Kalajamun Sweet and dosa. All around the city, people rave about their sweets, highly advised for everyone. The place is small and a bit crowded in day times.

Like most of the people, I also love the samosa of Tip Top .It was as pack as it was before. The taste is same and it is perfect for afternoon snacks . Samosa cost Rs.35. I personally love Kaju Barfi , so I couldn't resist myself buying two of it. Kaju Barfi/Katli cost Rs.45 each. Moreover, it is famous for samosa and sweets.

One of the staff in the chat section was so rude...it has always been my favorite place specially for having jerri, samosa and dudhbari but recent behavior of that one staff was so bad i didn't feel like going again in Newroad branch

  • 4/5 lizen s. 1 year ago on Google
Samosas are the one of the best with sweet chatni. The place is a little difficult to find because it is located in the narrow galli. This place is always full of people.

**!! Be careful, NO BATHROOM and rude Customer interaction at the cash counter. Rhy didn't bother to respond well about the food making process. Other items are not that great compared to other sweets place.

The finest place for sweet lovers. Jeri is my favourite from there and Samosa is widely famous over there. It's so crowded over there always. We barely find to sit over there and we have to eat by standing but other branches have the sitting facility.

When you're shopping in the hustle and bustle, there's always a food corner in your stomach, which doesn't go away without having a food. If you've been In New road, there's always "TipTop" especially their Samosas, and other savouries. It happens with everyone. The narrow alleys in the Bishalbazar guides your through this roadside alley place. There's a small yellow board with a red name "TipTop" inside the TipTop alley,or you can simply ask anyone. Don't expect the ambience, over here,as you can simply eat standing wherever u find the spot, and have your food and leave discarding the paper plate in any dustbin . You have to cut the bill first then reach the stalls handling the bill where they serve the food. . Location📍: Newroad,Bishalbazar Ambience☕: crowded Availability❓ : Fastfood items, snacks, savouries Recommended : Yes Parking🛑: Roadside parking
