This place was believed to be built using single big tree. But after the earthquake of 2072 B.S. in Nepal, many people died and Kasthamandap was destroyed. And now Kasthamandap has rise again but normally people are allowed to enter inside it. This mandala was made in the Newa New year (Nhu daya Bhintuna) 1144 near the Kasthamandap. It has a story and can be easily found in Google.

If you are looking for 2 hours bike ride and 1 day hike from Kathmandu, latarambeshwor mahadev will fulfill your desire. This place is equally important from hiking and religious point of view. The last 20 minutes walk is quite intense. The location of Shiva cave at the top of hill makes this place immensely beautiful. 360° breath taking view of hills, terrain, curvy road and lavish greenery will melt your heart.❤️❤️

The greatest blessings is to accept things as it is. you have no super power to change things. The energy that kasthamandap had before has been created in new form. It's amazing to see the kasthamandap standing tall after the great earthquake. It has many historical importance that I can't describe here. Whenever whoever visits Nepal, they should definitely visit this place and for the information (it's easier, you get whatever you need in information desk). Many jatras and festivals happens in this place. It has been recorded in UNESCO heritage site too. So feel it when you travel here. Many things are in reconstruction phase, hope to see it's beautiful version after the work is done. Once is not enough so visit frequently.

It is the historical place from which Kathmandu city got its place. It has been renovated because it was severly damaged by the earthquake. In the past, it used to be an important place for trading, and now it is a site of cultural heritage. The local artisans have managed to recapture the essence of ancient Nepal which you can observe in the intricate details of the architecture. It stands still.

One of the oldest wooden structure in the world. This is a 3 storey pagoda style temple housing shrine consecrated to Gorakshanath. This is also one of the major attraction inside kathmandu durbar square area.

Also known as the durbar square. There are 3 of these in Nepal. These mandaps of the square are known for their historical and architectural values. However most of the buildings are in rough shape and need immediate repair. Hopefully they will be done soon.

The wooden pavilion is located at Basantapur Marutol in Kathmandu. The place is also known as Darwar Square area. It is one of the most important buildings in the history of Nepal. They begged him to build a monastery out of wood. Of the celestial tree. The result is a pavilion made of wood from the same tree. The incident is said to have taken place during the reign of Laxminar Singh Malla (1620-1639) and the building is said to have been named after the city of Kathmandu. The wooden pavilion is also considered to be the oldest wooden building in Nepal. It survived the 1934 earthquake and was repaired in 1966 but collapsed in the April 25, 2015 earthquake. Its reconstruction is now almost complete. Hopefully it will be open for observation soon.

Going by its local name, the Kasthamandap in Kathmandu roughly translates as a wood-covered shelter. Three stories make up the temple's structure. This temple has held the status of a revered pagoda in the city from antiquity. Thousands of pilgrims travel to this Kathmandu attraction to venerate the famed Gorakhnath holy statue, which is housed in this sacred place. This temple's most notable characteristic is that it was originally constructed in the classic pagoda style. This tourist destination in Kathmandu is also well-known for other characteristics, such as the fact that the entire shrine was constructed from the wood of a single tree.

Kathmandu Durbar Square, also known as Basantapur Durbar Square, is a UNESCO World Heritage site located in the heart of Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. It is a complex of palaces, courtyards, and temples that were once the center of power of the Kathmandu Valley. The square is surrounded by several palaces, temples, and shrines, dating back to the 12th century. One of the most significant structures in the square is the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, which was built by King Pratap Malla in the 17th century. It has a beautiful courtyard, intricate woodwork, and carvings. The palace was named after the Hindu god Hanuman, who is believed to have visited the palace during the reign of King Pratap Malla. In conclusion, Kathmandu Durbar Square is a significant historical and cultural site in Nepal. Its rich cultural heritage, ancient architecture, and vibrant atmosphere make it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Nepalese culture and history.

Situated in Basantapur Durbar Square,Kasthamandap is three storeyed public shelter. It is believed to be constructed by king Laxmi Narsingha Malla in 16th century. But recent archeological findings during the excavation after 2015 earthquake have suggested that it may have been built in the 7th century during Lichhabi era. It was made with single tree-sal and said to be one of the oldest wooden-made buildings in the world.

As much as natural disasters are unavoidable so is the rebuilding process for historical monuments(in some cases), but even after seven years, it seems rebuilding has not been 100% achieved. But at least it feels good to see Kasthamandap being rebuilt. Standing admirably and representing Kathmandu. Respect to those artisan woodworkers and Craftsman🙏.
