No entry fee. It is located on the back of river Bagmati. It is believed that after the self-immolation of Sati, Shiva wandered, carrying the corpse on his shoulder. Wherever the parts of that body fell, Shakti Peeths originated. Arguably, this temple is where Sati's knowledge (Guhya) fell and hence originated the Guhyeshwari Shakti Peeth. Only Hindus are allowed. You can take photos at only selected places. Never try to take a photo from the front side.

Guhyeshwari Temple (Nepali: गुह्येश्वरी मन्दिर), also spelled Guheswari or Guhjeshwari, is one of the revered holy temples in Kathmandu, Nepal. This temple is dedicated to Guhyeshwari or Adi Shakti. The temple is also a Shakti Peetha and it's about 1 km east of Pashupatinath Temple and is located on the southern bank of the Bagmati River.[1] It is said that this temple is the Shakti chair of Pashupatinath Temple. It is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus, especially for Tantric worshipers. King Pratap Malla renovated this temple in the 17th century. The goddess is also called Guhyekali. 🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🇳🇵🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Hindu diety Guheswori, believed to have originated from the fallen decaying gluteal region of the Satidevi, the beloved of Lord Shiva is an important religious destination in Kathmandu as it lies juxtaposed with The famous pashupatinath temple. beautiful environment just adjacent to the river bagmati and besides the sleshmantak forest, a place u can visit if you want peace of mind and serenity in the middle of Kathmandu.

This is Guhyeshwari Shaktipeeth, one of the shaktipeeth out of 51. This shaktipeeth was created due to mata's upper lip dropped here. You can reach here by small treak or car/bike can drop you few steps before temple entrance. Temple was very quiet and you can feel the vibes. There is a huge baniyan tree outside temple which is very huge. If you do short treak then you can see top view of Pashupatinath temple and surrounding area. There are no parking fees for vehicle. It is located in highly crowded area so better be careful if you are driving.

It is one of the best place nearly to pashupatinath. Guhyeshwari Temple (Nepali: गुह्येश्वरी मन्दिर), also spelled Guheswari or Guhjeshwari, is one of the revered holy temples in Kathmandu, Nepal. This temple is dedicated to Guhyeshwari or Adi Shakti. The temple is also a Shakti Peetha and is about 1 km east of Pashupatinath Temple and is located on the southern bank of the Bagmati River.[1] It is said that this temple is the Shakti chair of Pashupatinath Temple. It is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus, especially for Tantric worshipers. King Pratap Malla built this temple in the 17th century. The goddess is also called Guhyekali. The temple's name originates from the Sanskrit words Guhya (secret, hidden, or cave) and Ishwari (goddess). Literally, the name "Guhyeshwari" stands for the goddess of the cave (गुफाको ईश्वरी) and the origin of the name aligns with the Hindu legend of Sati, her self-immolation when She turns into Adishakti, the Goddess of cosmic energy, at Daksha yagna. In Lalitha Sahasranama the 707th name of the Goddess is mentioned as Guhyarupini (The uncanny form of Goddess intimates that She is beyond human perception, and the invisible location where She resides allows Her to render justice impartially. Another belief is that it is the secret 16th syllable of the Shodashi Mantra) (LS 137th verse: Sarasvati shastramayi| Guhaamba guhyaruupini||). The main stotras dedicated to goddess are: 1.Guhya Kali Sahasranama Stotra,Guhyakali. 2.Gadya Sanjeevana StotramGuhyakali. 3.Mahavajra Kavacha Stotram.

It was a fantastic trip. The road leading to the temple is beautiful and well-kept. The temple area is very clean, and there is a real feeling of positive energy in the environment. You must see the magnificent view of the city and the Bagmati river from this location. There is always a huge rush, especially in Navratri, therefore it is best to attend during the off season. It is best to go in the afternoon for a wonderful "Dharshan." We went in November month at that time there is no much crowd. If you are visiting Kathmandu (Nepal), you must pay a visit to this historic temple, which holds tremendous significance and where it is believed that your prayers will be fulfilled.

I couldn't stop myself to visit here as it is one of my favorite shaktipeeth. Nay the goddess bless us all. But may be due to the rain, I found litter and dirt everywhere. The management could have cleaned it and managed it well.

One of the 51 Shakti Peeth of Mata Sati. It is a very beautiful mandir and legends say it that the 'hip' of Mata Sati fell here. One can experience peace and energy at this Mandir. Known for its tantric powers the place has a feel of energy beaming out of the santom /'gabhara'. . . Located just a small walk of 850 to 900 mts. from the Lord Pashupati Nath Mandir, one must visit the Guhyeshwari Shakti Peeth Temple/Mandir. If your tour doesn't have this in its itenary, one must suggest and force the tour managers to take you to this Mandir. . .

When tourists go to visit the Pashupati Area, the tour starts from Tilganga or nearby to the south west corner of the area. Then crossing the Bagmati River, it ascends to the Slesmantak forest area then descends to meet the contoured Bagmati ay Guheshwori temple. This photo is from Guheswori. A sign board reads Only Hindus May Enter! So, none Hindus may continue to the river bank taking the left hand side path.

Very old beautiful temple. Need to climb a few stairs to reach the temple. The spiritual feeling here is immense. You can find people meditating or chanting mantras in the temple premises. Also beware of monkeys, although they seemed to be harmless. You can also explore a small stairway by the side which goes up to Pashupatinath temple

As I always say we have great temples in Nepal, holiest of the holiest, powerful as people have love & faith . Huge amount of money is collected daily but sadly the cleanliness of the temples I give 2 out of 10. We in general lack CIVIC SENSE.. and the areas around the temples are in dire straits. We need to educate everyone from HOME , then SCHOOL & educate our INNER SELF that CLEANLINESS is NEXT TO GODLINESS. Local government wake with your eyes wide OPEN & do SOMETHING 🍀🙏LUCKY

For a deeply devoted spiritual practitioner, it is a tragedy that this powerful energy site is banned to non-hindus (as goddess doesn't really care for these man made religious labels). Even if you do your sadhana for uears and live in India, they won't let you in. Otherwise it is a beautiful peaceful place. And people who work around the temple, the ticket counter, chia and flower stalls, are absolutely lovely to chat to (and they compassionately listen to your complaints about not being allowed in :P).

One out of 51 Shaktipeethas. One should remember the sacrifice of devi SATI in that Temple. Shiva means Supreme Truth. And in order to get that Supreme truth, She didnt bothered destroying her body. One of her organ fell unto that place , and hence named as mata guheshwari. which is just near to Pashupatinath temple. Jay mata SATI.

Beautiful temple of what I saw but I am curious if any foreigners who demonstrate that they are a Hindu have been allowed in this temple. If a Nepalese Christian was not allowed in a church in Europe because of their skin colour it would be in the news.

So powerful temple with so much positive vibes. IT was really oldest temple just behind of the pasupatinath, highly recommended to do darshan everyone (Hindus) Note:- only Hindu can do darshan and allow to go inside the temple 🥰🕉️🙏

Guhyeshari, stays on the other side of Sleshmantak forest, besides the river and along with the ever flowing queues of devotees. Pashupati visit is incomplete without bowing in this shrine - Lord Shiva and Mother Pashupati here are too kind and immensely generous. This southern bank of Bagmati river is equally important to Budhhists also, Lord Shiva and Mother Parwari from across the Himalayas (Kailash) reside here in adi form. This temple is also important for (Chudakarma and marriage ceremony). Relation built or initiated in this base goes immortal and flows continuously.

One of the Shakti Pith of Nepal where the reproductive part or secretive part of Mother Goddess Sati fell while Mahadev Shiva was roaming around carrying the dead body of her. Inside the temple, you can see the Kalash or Vase which is worshipped as the Guiyeiswori. P.S. Taking photos inside is not allowed.
