    (Translated by Google) This art council is known as Nepal Art Council. The Arts Council is located at Baber Mahal near Singha Durbar, the heart of Kathmandu. Famous Nepali artists also perform here. Even prominent government officials and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions come here to observe the art. Large scale art exhibitions are held here on various occasions. There is also an arrangement to buy and take away the art displayed in the exhibition. Students studying at Nepal Arts Campus organize exhibitions from time to time. We hope that this art gallery will contribute to the development and expansion of Nepali original and traditional art sculptors. Thank you.

Really great place where we can have exhibition and create huge mass of audience who are intrested in art and paintings. I was there during the exhibition of hari prasad sir painting exhibition. Great lighting system matched with paintings. Enough parking space and and most importantly toilet and sanitation was also good. The hospitality that i got was very good. But then there are lots more areas for the improvement which are left that can lead the values of artists and art. The place has been supporting the artist which was really great and i do respect and love the work done by the pannel. The painting exhibition and location was at easy accessible place to every one who is at town. The place is easy to find as well.

Love visiting the place. Good open halls for holding multiple exhibitions with availability of parking space. Toilets need to be abit clean and the clutter on the right side of the building should be cleared and managed.

The Nepal Art Council is an important exhibition space in Kathmandu. However, the exhibitions often lack context and curation. There is also no permanent exhibition. They have impressive exhibitions from time to time. And it is a must visit site for art lovers. But then again your experience for the most part will depend on the exhibition that is currently being held and the quality of the artists and curators at that time.

This exhibition will be the first major exhibition outside of Nepal, with such a large body of artworks solely by Nepalese contemporary artists. The project was conceived in 2016, while Dr Dina Bangdel was with us. NEPAL ART NOW is curated by Dr.Christian Shicklgruber with Swosti Rajbhandari Kayastha from the Council as co-curator. Mr. Sagar SJB Rana, Vice-President is the coordinator on behalf of the Council.

It is one of the prominent place for Art in Kathmandu where Art exhibitions are held through out the year from beginners to renounced artist of Nepal and international community. The top floor has a large gallery with in the floor and has very high attic and ventilation. 1st floor has a jointed exhibiting hall entirely. The ground floor has two halls at each sides to the passage. The premises has its own parking space enough for 8 buses that can go comfortable with cars and bikes for art enthusiasts. Toilets are not bad. And ambience is good.

Been to countless exhibitions here. The only problem here is they don’t have an Instagram page, neither do they update ongoing exhibitions on their website.

Exhibitions and artists are definitely great. It's a pity the welcoming staff is not appropriate for the type of place and the building not well maintained as it should be. Maybe a small entrance fare (such as 50 to 200 NRP) would help to keep it in a better state. Thanks to the curators and to Nepali artists for this wonderful opportunity.

A large space to exhibit artworks. I believe this place has really good foot traffic. I'd recommend cleaner restrooms... this place has the potential to be a premiere exhibition hall if they better the upkeep and aesthetics of tye hall. Clean minimalist.

Nepal Art Council is a foremost non-profit organization that focuses on publicizing the art and the artist of Nepal.  Furthermore, rather than focusing on art sales, the art gallery supports a perpetual gallery and hosts an art exhibition. The art gallery has also gained a lot of notoriety for its impeccable art shows.

It's a huge exhibition space. Three storeyed. Some of the best exhibitions have taken place here. The space really takes a life of its own depending on who's exhibiting and what is being exhibited. The toilets are in poor condition though.

The Nepal Art Council (NAC) was established in 1962 as a national institution, with the prime objective of promoting the art and artists of Nepal. King Mahendra was the patron, with incumbent Prime Minister Kirti Nidhi Bista as Founding President, Nepal’s leading modern artist Lain Singh Bangdel as General Secretary and independent promoter of the arts Gen. Mrigendra SJB Rana as Treasurer. It was conceived, constituted and initiated as a Public-Private partnership. A brainchild of Bangdel, NAC was brought to life through his total dedication, and the unceasing support of his peers: Prime Minister Bista and Gen. Mrigendra Rana. It was later registered as a service oriented non-profit, non-government, organisation, and has remained a pioneering and leading institution in the arts ever since. The completion of the current building in 1991, with grants from the Government of Nepal, Government of India and donations from the private sector have allowed the Council to further expand the range of its activities. In recent years, the premises of the Council have been renovated and infrastructure upgraded to meet international standards. By pioneering the nurturing of artistic talent for over half a century; the Nepal Art Council has played a pivotal role in helping a new generation of contemporary Nepalese artists working in various genres, to emerge and attain the level of excellence we witness today.
